The creative process for this image came about when I was reading "A Grief Observed" by C.S.Lewis. It is so hard to believe that a person who wrote "The Chronicles of Narnia" would write such a raw emotional and personal record of his life. It's a grieving process that he is going through, at the same instance, fighting everything and everyone that say or feel otherwise. As a reader, you connect with every syllable of his pain and as a visual creator, this is how I picture him. The branches here represent his memories of his late wife, these memories that he doesn't want to lose, these memories that he could almost taste, but can't relive. He fears of them fading, but he wants to stretch his arms to them, enclose them with a hug and never let them go away. He is questioning his sanity, frustration, emotions, relations, faith and God. Finally, he lets out a silent cry, a symbolism of his love, to silence his fear. . The images used for creating this piece of art are from @unsplash .
