Passed on from comrades in Cairo, yet we must not fail to acknowlege that the present military coup is complicated- influenced by many factors... I mean, it cannot be sheer coincidence that US peace keeping troops were recently sent to Egypt or that talks between powers have been reagular or that the CIA and SCAF are in bed together. Regardless, may the revolutionaries always continue the work and message for a world free of tyranny. Here is that message.

The only measures of time that are observed by the creatures and plants of the Earth are the days, nights and seasons. It will take much patient learning and perseverance to learn all the Earth has to teach us. We will never learn it all in one lifetime, and most of it will probably be lost after that time, so pay attention and share the greatest wealth that we could hope to have in this time- deep knowledge and care for the natural world. Tread on it a little lighter, tend it a little longer, wonder over the amazing phenomena of life. Act with the knowledge that our system is slowly raping and killing the only Life-giver that we know of...

Gay and lesbian groups have found some unlikely allies near Taksim Square.
“Erdogan called the protesters marginals, not radicals,” says Sansal. “Marginal is a word that mostly refers to gays in Turkey. And he picked this word because rainbow flags were everywhere. But who cares? If anything, the Gezi protests played a historic role in our battle with homophobia.”

Heteronormativity isn’t just about the presumption that everyone is heterosexual. The expectation that boys woo girls feeds into your mind the expectation that relationships are necessary for fulfilment, and you are less than if you are not having particular kinds of sex with a particular, and a particular kind of, person at particular intervals. It’s about what Lauren Berlant calls the love plot, in which love is produced as a generic text enabling society to interpret your life as following certain conventions. It’s not about what you want, it’s about what you’re supposed to want. You’re not encouraged to think about what you want in relationships, if anything, so much as you are encouraged to fit a script. Heteronormativity messes things up for everyone, straight people included.

As I was posting articles that explained what is happening in Istanbul on my Facebook page last night, someone asked me the following question: ‘What are you hoping to gain by complaining about our country to foreigners?’ This blog is my answer to her. By so called ‘complaining’ about my country I am hoping to gain: * Freedom of expression and speech, * Respect for human rights, * Control over the decisions I make concerning my on my body, * The right to legally congregate in any part of the city without being considered a terrorist. But most of all by spreading the word to you, my friends who live in other parts of the world, I am hoping to get your awareness, support and help! Please spread the word and share this blog. Thank you!

PLEASE EVERYONE HELP TURKEY. We need to start seeing people as human beings not just countries and not judging them on their government. Government are corrupt all over. We need to love and help people that need it, and support positive changes.

Your post about what you hope to gain from those not in Turkey as you share the struggle should also include inspiration: http://earthfirstnews.wordpress.com/2013/06/02/san-francisco-activists-liberate-park-in-solidarity-with-turkish-resistance/ and other groups in the US are organizing similarly, as many of us realize that Turkey is #3 recipient in US military aid. The tear gas, cannons and other weapons are made by US companies, they fuel US capitalism and imperialism. NO MORE. people are organizing with you! All power to the people!

“The aim of life is no more to control the mind, but to develop it harmoniously; not to achieve salvation here after, but to make the best use of it here below; and not to realise truth, beauty and good only in contemplation, but also in the actual experience of daily life; social progress depends not upon the ennoblement of the few but on the enrichment of democracy; universal brotherhood can be achieved only when there is an equality of opportunity - of opportunity in the social, political and individual life."— from Bhagat Singh's prison diary

Turkey’s Taksim Square drenched in blood Today. The Tear gas canister shown is from the US of course, some biotech company in WY. The police here do this every day - it just happens to people that they claim 'looked suspicious' or 'evaded arrest' or 'reached for a gun'. This is not new, the blood on the streets of Turkey is a centralized look at what our police also commit. The ghetto storm in this country and anti-immigrant campaign are more scattered and kept secret except for those few cases of extrajudicial murder that get leaked. Just know that every 28 hours a Black person is murdered by officials and hundreds are killed actively or passively by the militarization of the US-Mexican border each year with hundreds of thousands more deported. The same story is happening by the imperial demands of this empire across the world through remote controlled killing machines. Just so we don't become transfixed on the blood on the hands of others rather than on our own.
