They're such noble and beautiful people putting their duty and love for the kingdom first, but there is an under current of their love and support for each other in the game and the manga, and that love gives them strength but also haunts them.

My favorite thing about OOT Zelink is that they have such a strong sense of camaraderie. Throughout their lives, they are constantly facing the looming threats together. Starting as children and carrying into seven long years of separation before peace is eventually restored to Hyrule. Through it all, they’re waiting for each other. Longing for each other. Helping each other. And even when they’re not together, you always know that they are still fighting the same evil. Link fights directly, Zelda fights from the shadows. No matter how much time has passed, they’re still allies. There is trust between them. There is faith. They never stopped thinking of each other or believing in each other.

And I love that in the end, they stand together on the final battlefield and confront the evil that has plagued them for far too long. Not many Zelinks receive such a climactic and meaningful finale. Confronting the villain who brought ruin to their world for seven long, dark years, and vanquishing him together 🔥

They worked together to save their world from incredible peril, and I adore them for that :)

Fpr Question 1! My favorite thing about OoT Zelink / Shink is that they always have each other's backs. In the very first 3D Zelda game, we got a story where Zelda (as Zelda, as well as in disguise as Sheik) is with you for your ENTIRE journey, from the beginning where you must find the Spiritual Stones, to the ending where she holds back Ganon so you can deliver the final blow. Link could not have done all he does in this game without Zelda / Sheik. And Zelda / Sheik could not have done all they do in this game without Link. That is only one reason why they are my favorite iteration of Zelink. The official artworks of Link and Sheik in battle, fighting side by side + Link and Sheik in a moment of repose, playing music together have always, always been so dear to me. Whether in wartime or peacetime, they are a team. I love that in the Shadow Temple part of the story, Link and Sheik both look out for each other when the shadow spirit terrorizes Kakariko Village. THERE IS SO MUCH I COULD SAY ABOUT THEM but if I keep typing, I will be here for seven years :D LAST THING THOUGH! DID YOU KNOW THAT IN SMASH BROS., FROM MELEE ALL THE WAY TO ULTIMATE, LINK'S MOVESET COMPLEMENTS SHEIK'S MOVESET, AND SHEIK'S MOVESET COMPLEMENT'S LINK'S MOVESET, PERFECTLY? MEANING THAT IF YOU FIGHT TEAM BATTLES WITH THEM, YOU ARE WELL-EQUIPPED FOR BOTH RANGED AND CLOSE COMBAT, FOR MIGHT AND FOR SPEED. TRY IT OUT SOMETIME! THEY ARE PERFECT IN BATTLE WITH EACH OTHER, AS THEIR ORIGINAL GAME SET UP. I REST MY CASE.

Serenade of Time?

An OoT Zelink/Shink event the week of November 16-22, 2025! The OoT anniversary falls during this week!

There are three possible prompts for each day. A participant can choose to do one, all three, or a combination for each day and can combine the prompts of multiple days into one work.

Sheik x Link is included and accepted into the event! (Note: All pronouns for Sheik will be accepted into the event as well, since there are plenty of different interpretations of them)!

AU entries are completely fine so long as OoT Zelink / OoT Shink are identifiable at the center of it! This means modern AUs and the like are acceptable so long as OoT is the clear source material. ^^ No OC versions this time around, please— save that for a future event of mine! >:)
