Keep reading for statistics and ways you can help! 🪶Indigenous Women (girls +) murdered 10x higher than all other ethnicities. 🌙Murder is the 3rd leading cause of death for Indigenous Women (Centers for Disease Control). 🪶More than 4 out of 5 Indigenous Women have experienced violence (84.3%) (National Institute of Justice Report). 🌙More than half Indigenous Women experience sexual violence (56.1%). 🪶More than half Indigenous Women have been physically abused by their intimate partners (55.5 percent). 🌙Murder rate of Indigenous Women is 3xs higher than Anglo-American women. So, how can you help? 1. Safely attend an event, candle light vigil, or prayer circle in your local community. 2. Support MMIWG2S pages, resources, and communities. “No day shall erase you from the memory of time.” It’s definitely not an easy trip, but if you have a chance to visit the 911 Memorial, it’s not something I would ever pass up on. They did such a beautiful job honoring the heroes and remembering those we lost. Often I find myself getting caught up in the day to day. It’s places and moments like this that are good reminders to tell the people you love that you love them, to live in the moment, and to take advantage of every second we have because everything can change in an instant and without warning. How are you doing, friends? Like honestly. It’s been a bit since I’ve really checked in and it’s not because I don’t care. Life has been busy and I’ve been making an effort not to spend as much time here as I used to. I’ve been recovering from the panorama, which I surprisingly did not get traveling. But holy heck, I got unlucky with how hard it smacked me. I’m just glad to finally have my voice back, even if it’s not at full capacity. And if things keep improving, I’ll be doing my makeup and filming tomorrow for the first time in over a week! If I’m not exhausted post work today I should also be able to get some editing done, which means new YT content coming soon. All the exciting things! Have you ever made a magical potion? They offer non-alcoholic by special reservation, but just the fun of making these drinks makes the experience worth it. The best part was, by far, the company of my favourite witches and wizards though. A lot of them are hanging in Philly for the HP exhibit now, and I am so envious but also so happy for them. Have you ever used a telephone booth? Do they even make them anymore?
