core appeal of Funnybunny to me is actually the idea that one emotionally intelligent woman with a backbone can crack this one toxic guy's idgaf facade. Like ideal fic, she cracks it so hard that he crashes out and the whole tower of coping mechanisms falls apart so bad that he can't help but fall a little bit in love with someone who wouldn't let him disrespect them without consequences.

"I can fix him" isn't the right phrase for this. It's giving Mr. Darcy. It's Phoenix Wright for people that play Tabletop RPGs with shitty powergamers. It needs 60 chapters, 27 of which deal with increasingly frantic and destructive attempts two through seven from Jax to make this go away by sabotaging it harder. I really wanna praise this moment of animation in particular. You can practically pinpoint the moment Jax realized that he's just pushed the only true friend he seemed to have since Ribbit away. What he said about not caring if she abstracted on top of all the other awful stuff he said hits him all at once. You see how his emotions start to bubble up, he tries to keep it together but can't. He needs to let his building frustration out so he kicks something in a moment of uncontrolled anger. So much emotion and conflicted feeling are conveyed in just a few seconds

Here's the thing with me and funnybunny though: I don't think it is Pomni's responsibility to save Jax, nor should it be. Him making the decision to stop being such a shithead in the name of self-preservation (and probably outright meanness spurred by the situation they're all in) is the key. He has to want to change or stop masking or choose to be different in the face of all of the genuine torment he's caused, including his crash out at the end of Ep. 6. Pomni extended the hand once and got smacked for it. He's got to be the one to do it now
