I can agree w/ the fact that Ben is more rational than the others in the group but he can be levelheaded and still want to get into shenanigans with his friends. He’d just perfect there to be no property damage.

He’s still a little shit along with the rest of them and we love him :).

(Is this influenced by my friend and I’s reading of Benvolio and the rest of the crew? Yes absolutely but there is textual basis for it as well which I could get into, nonetheless this is still my own interpretation and by no means the only way to view the character. I just wanted to bring up an odd trend I was seeing with the disconnect between Ben and his actions along with the rest of the group :D.)

All of the recent AI usage just saddens me

I had a brief conversation with someone today in English about it

They had brought up how they did not think our teacher would actually check every paper with an AI checker and how absurd it was

I had agreed at first, the AI checkers out there use stuff that does not differ. People have different writing styles and errors and descriptions and structure and fully hum an work can be flagged as AI

Because of so much of it happening, if flagged incorrectly, there can be humongous consequences

I myself was almost kicked out of a college course because my work was flagged for AI usage- it flagged my consistent run on sentences and my use of oddly placed words

I had to beg the professor to keep me in, after a few phone calls and emails and explanations I was allowed to stay in

I had brought up the inconsistent checkers and how it effects students and the person I was discussing it with said that was not what was meant

They didn’t understand how the teacher expected us to NOT use AI for this assignment

That the prompt was just so easy to put in AI to do it

It was about the usage of “the machine” amplifying human power and efficiency and wealth, but threatening to destroy “the garden” in humanity; creativity and the places where people find comfort and rest

Writing and learning is a common place people look to for creativity and comfort, technology is taking over so much

It should not do everything for us, technology has the ability to teach us every skill in the world that can be imagined, and instead it is being used to just do work for us

Where did the creativity go? The life in work?

it just baffles and saddens me that people use technology now for the purpose of completing instead of the purpose of learning and sharing
