Imagine just for a little while, your f/o is much shorter. Would they wiggle and hide their face when you pick them up? Would they accept it and hold on tight? Would they prefer it, even?

It can be difficult to get your f/o to open up if they’re upset. You don’t mind, though, you just want to help however you can. And sometimes, just being there is good enough for them.

A bit frustrated that I can’t do anything I’d like to do right now. At least I remembered I have this blog.

Nonhuman features can make things awkward, but you can find a solution to almost every problem. Whether it be holding your f/o’s wrist, making exaggerated kissing sounds… you make it work.

“Kiss it better” is usually reserved for small children’s scrapes and bruises, but that doesn’t mean you can’t ask for your f/o to kiss it better sometimes.

Sometimes, the intimate moments with your f/o are the sweetest. You love to know each other and memorize each other’s faces. Sometimes it’s to trace each others’ features with your hands, but more often you cover each other in kisses.

If you look closely, you can piece together your f/o’s fight or flight response. The way they avoid certain tasks, or freeze up in a certain situation. They’ve done some pretty impressive things with a fight response, though.
Maybe they’ve noticed the same things about you. Who knows?

It was a… weird adjustment when you began sharing a living space with your f/o. You were a little worried about accommodations at first, but you surprisingly didn’t have much to change. A lot works out in your favor when the other in the relationship is more than human.

There are certain things you’ve noticed your f/o doesn’t share with anyone. Whether it be their hobby or their favorite snack, you’re the only exception. Your honored you have that level of priority and trust in their mind.

Your f/o really likes your handwriting. Like, really likes it. They’re too embarrassed to share this, but sometimes they like to examine the notes you write. They’ve figured out how to tell a lot of things based on your writing. How your letters blur together when you hurry, the careful neatness of important papers… Heck, even how you were positioned based on your style habits. They adore knowing the little things.

You and your f/o are sharing secrets. You’re both in bed, covers pulled over you into a “cave” and a small light to see each other’s faces. They admit that when you first met, they were a little scared you would leave them after getting to know them. But they’re so happy you didn’t and they’re so happy with you.

You don’t always wake up the same way every morning. Sometimes you’re awake first, sometimes your f/o is awake first. You always like the latter option, because they find the best ways to pull you from sleep. The sleepy morning chats are nice too.

You’re not certain where they’re sourced from, but your F/O loves to bring you specific flowers. Sometimes bouquets, sometimes single buds, the flower(s) are always beautiful. If you don’t already know it, you look up the meaning of the flower, because your F/O always does their research.

Your F/O looms over you on the couch, blocking the overhead lights of your living room. They place their forehead against yours for a moment, and you can practically hear their smile in their breath. Carefully, they place kisses all around your face. Sometimes slow and gentle, other areas are quickly peppered with light touches. The tip of your nose gets an exaggerated smooch noise. And when they finally reach your lips, they lean in and cradle your head in their hands like fine china. You blink butterfly kisses to one another for a second before you try to force more kisses in through your laughter.

Your stims are more obvious than your F/O, but that doesn’t downplay their reactions whenever you’re extra affectionate (or even upon seeing you). The giddy smile and twinkle in their eyes, the way their body goes a little more rigid… it got easier to notice over time.

Even if your F/O has trouble remembering sometimes, every gift is meticulously planned. Handmade or store-bought, your new items always seem to tickle your fancy. Even on occasions you would be satisfied with money, they manage to go the extra mile. But you don’t miss the excitement light up their face whenever you have something in return.
