there’s a faint hint of gardenia there, though, perhaps care of pamela? or just because it’s present. and the mildewish smell of abandoned factories filled with old junk, and the odd smell of hyena that makes selina’s hackles rise. a lot.

@butscrewmefirst / the countess, according to selina, undeniably smells like blood. an extremely sharp copper tang just in the air. however. once you move past that, there’s significantly more. there’s a smokey, spicy, heavy sort of scent whirling around, the sort of thing that might be spritzed from an atomizer, with a big plush and lace covered bulb. the kind of thing that a hollywood star would wear, expensive and classy and present without being overwhelming. a delicious sort of smell. however, even further beneath that, there’s a vague and entirely subtle scent of earth, which may really be the scent of death. almost impossible to notice, unless you’re particularly attuned to smell. easily missed but a definite warning.

@withinycu / bruce, according to selina, smells faintly of wood polish, and sharply of leather, but not the leather of a jacket or shoes, the leather of old books. there’s a sting of sharp spice in the form of crisp soap that she somehow assumes was not a purchase made by bruce himself, but something alfred stocks in the master bath. absolutely not an old spice kind of smell, more a subtle but very present clean spice smell. and under all of it, somehow mostly on his hands, is just a little bit of an earthy scent, vaguely like mildew or dampness, an enclosed and sunlightless smell.

   When she first spoke he had cast her a sidelong glance, noting but not contradicting what she said. But given their occupations what did danger mean exactly?

                          “ Brucie... ” The cruel lilt to her voice, the teasing tone, the vague mocking trailed off so quickly, and a sigh followed, arms crossing, eyes finding the ceiling, rather than meeting his, fingertips tapping anxiously along her arms as breath was drawn in, and teeth ground against themselves. He was a frustrating man, Bruce Wang. A very frustrating man.
