Is there any persona 5 fanfics about the other audio that the team got when they tapped akechi's phone? Like we heard all the evil skeeming with shido but what about his panic attacks, alone in his room, hours of sobbing, mumbling to himself. His self hatred. Nicer moments when he sees a cute photo on his phone and he gasps cutely. Or when hes trying to take a good selfie for his Instagram and mumbles how shit he looks. Phone calls with past foster parents who actually want to try to be in his life but who he blocks out since he thinks hes not worthy. Or simple calls with tech support or on call interviews. i have this idea for an au fic that has been bouncing around my head for the last 24 hours of goro being moved to kyoto to be fostered by zenkichi and akane, and he goes to an old rundown abandoned shrine to have as a quiet space and he meets akira there. akira, who was murdered years ago and his body dumped near the shrine so now he is forced to spend his afterlife "haunting" the shrine because he cant pass over due to the violence of his death and unfinished business. goro is the only one who can see him and everyone else just thinks the shrine is haunted. goro doesnt realize akira is dead until someone makes a comment about "that horrible incident with the disappearance of akira kurusu" and puts the puzzle pieces together. there's also ghost sex.

my hc is that goro is "the one who is always cold" while akira is a furnace. goro absolutely shoves his freezing toes into the backs of akira's knees when they're laying in bed and complains bc akira needs the AC on even in the winter in order to survive.

au where akechi knew about the pt's plan to fake akira's death in the interrogation room

so akechi toys with akira a little bit and and plays things up for the cameras and to shido when the "job" is done

but on the inside he is flooded with relief that akira is alive and that by faking his death, he's able to team up with the pt to take down shido together

cue akechi showing up at leblanc while akira is in hiding to strike up a new deal

I'm just thinking about if akira was able to pull akechi out when the doors closed in the engine room

they manage to get him out of shido's palace and he can't go back to his apartment, so akechi needs to stay in hiding in akira's room at leblanc

sojiro still has a soft spot for akechi, so of course he let's him stay. how could he say no when akechi is all alone, and looks like he was hit by a truck ("just what did you kids get yourselves into?")

they have takemi come over to check on him, and a couple of the others drop some things off for them

the bright, flashing lights that leave you dizzy and uncertain of your surroundings, masking the dark and grimy set up of the various tents and attractions

i feel like you would run into multiple cognitions of goro throughout the palace before you find the ruler. each with a different mask. a goro chained up in a cage to be put on display and treated like a spectacle. a goro in a straight jacket trapped in a tank of water as lookers on are entertained by the thrill of whether he'll live or die

his final boss, his shadow, a trapeze artist dangling dozens of feet above your head, swinging precariously as he puts on a life threatening performance for the audience's amusement. spinning and flashing, and so ornately decorated. swapping through various masks so quickly you can't even tell what you're trying to perceive

when you defeat him and he finally falls, his precious mask broken into shards, you realize he is just a sobbing child with hinged limbs and strings attached

an orphan sold to the circus and forced by an oppressive thing in the darkness of the rafters to perform dangerous tasks and self destructive stunts for the amusement of the spectators

the only palace ruler you meet who doesn't feel like a ruler at all, the strings through his back and his limbs makes him feel manipulated even in the one place he should be in control

stealing his heart is cutting his strings and casting aside his mask as you accept him into having the resolve to break free of his chains, to take charge of his own life and fight back against those rotten adults

his treasure a tattered, old photograph that's so old and worn, it's too smeared to make out the features of what you assume is a woman with a very small child

goro has one that posts about how sexy and mysterious joker is, and how that leather outfit is the most unfair thing to his health, while talking about how cool and suave his thievery is, and how in awe he is over how he stands up against society to fight for his own justice

and akira has a secret thirst account about the stunningly gorgeous Detective Prince☆ and he posts about how soft his hair looks, and his sweet tv smile, and his black leather gloves, and how hot he looks in his tight, athletic compression shorts he wears cycling and bouldering

just got hit with the sudden idea for an au where the phantom theives have their costumes and codenames as part of their fame and popularity

and goro akechi runs a secret thirst blog about their leader, joker.

and one day he accidentally posts a really racy thirst post to his detective prince account instead of this thirst account

his fans collectively lose their minds, goro is internally screaming and wishing a swift death upon himself, and akira nearly choked to death on his morning coffee

god,, im half asleep so I can't figure in where exactly this would fit, but

pls imagine joker and akechi being suddenly reunited post-interrogation room at a lavish masquerade within shido's palace

joker needs to get across a large ballroom swarming with guards by blending in, and dancing with the party guests

on a particularly lavish twirl he ends up with an armful of the beautiful detective who betrayed him and nearly shot him dead

pls think about joker and akechi passionately twirling* around the ballroom as they exchange heated whispers about what the other thinks they're doing there

akechi being mildly shocked that joker is alive but kind of expecting it all the same ("you never cease to amaze me, joker"), while trying to tersely convince him and his 'lackeys' to butt out and let goro handle shido. this is his revenge

joker dramatically dipping akechi as he tries to convince him to join the theives in taking down shido, that it's not too late to make amends and that he doesn't have to be alone

pls pls think about the high romance and the drama of spinning and weaving through the glittering crowd, while trying to remain undetected by the place's increasing security. in the arms of the one other person so messily tangled up in the same strings of fate. the tension and underlying hurt, and the sheer need of getting through to the other person

please i just need the aesthetic of a high stakes, unexpected reunion under the circumstances of joker and akechi having to cling tightly to each other as they bare their hearts to one another beneath the lights of the chandeliers in a sea of masked cognitions

maybe once they reach the opposite side of the ballroom, they release each other and goro gives akira one last forlorn gaze, before slipping off into the party..

..or maybe joker manages to push and pull akechi back into joining the phantom theives, but for real this time, to work together to take down the biggest asshole in japan

"maybe it has something to do with the glittering atmosphere, or maybe... i never stood a chance against you from the very beginning"
