Adrien is lying with his back flat on the floor, his coat splayed out underneath him and his gangly knees pointing skywards. Claudia has nothing better to do than stare down at him as he lies there, and for a moment she lets her imagination wander as she pictures him being on the floor because he was hit by a car. He'd probably be happy to hear it, actually. She thinks of him being bisected in half by the large heavy wheel of a Renault Twingo or a beat-up Peugeot 607, his lower stomach ground to a red, meaty paste that trails off in the direction the car left. Claudia imagines him lying there peacefully, unable to move his legs even as his body shifts and his crushed spine contorts as he tries (or, maybe he does, somehow, just since that's creepier), nothing more to show anguish than a slight quirk of the brow and grit teeth. The anguish can be heard, though: Adrien, torn to shreds, gasping and moaning for air.

Adrien had asked her if she would want to run into traffic with him once. Claudia had told him he was stupid, because he was. "Can I help you?" she asks, a bite to the question. Claudia returns the bite to herself, to her bottom lip, to punish herself for the remark. 'Do you need me to get something for you?' is what she would rather say, if she was a kind enough person for it. The kindness would come and go. She tries again. "Water? Tea?" "Tea." His eyes look like the life behind them is struggling to hold onto itself. Glossy and wide like those of a fish in the sand. "..Maybe some madelines. Madelines and tea," he mumbles. Claudia shifts the weight in her feet, her scuffed Converse digging into the floor. "Madelines?" Claudia scrunches her nose. "You don't like sugar, though." "I don't." It's like he forgot about it until she reminded him. His expression (which is only half there) is like he's remembered something he didn't expect to be awful. Maybe it's the sugar, but Claudia feels like it couldn't be. "...It's fine. I'll have them anyway."

"I love you but you're doing wrong in a way I cannot condone" and "I hate you but you're being wronged in a way I cannot stomach" are top tier and I need more of them.

Me when I catch myself thinking "I wonder what it's like to be chosen by somebody" but then I remember my best friend chooses to be my best friend and my mutuals choose to follow me and the minimum wage employee chooses to give me sincere kindness that I remember years later because I was going through a hard time and it meant a lot

*through gritted teeth* the world is GOOD. people are kind. Humans are NOT inheritly selfish. you will make it through this year. recovery is possible. people you don't know yet will love you. You are going to do things you can't even imagine right now. You are going to read a rlly good book. You are going to eat some rlly good food. You are going to experience joy again. Things can get better. Situations can change. You can choose to be kinder. The world can change for the better.

Ahhh, the shot of this random guy helping Superman stand up warms my heart.

One thing many modern superhero films miss out on, I feel is the Superhero's relationship to the random people they save. Many MCU films have escalated to the point of numbers so high its unthinkable- and they've lost that personal touch. Moments like this are a visual metaphor for what makes the hero keep fighting, keep going, keep standing up. There's a reason this scene from Spiderman II is one of my favorites ever.
