“I was going to my grandfather’s house to take my cousins to their mother, and suddenly the bombing happened, and we were hit and fell to the ground.”
Israeli airstrikes targeted several areas in the city, resulting in a number of injuries, most of them children.
This is Zionism.

everyone is convinced theres some class of people who are ontologically evil and whos sole goal as a person is to rape children, instead of the much worse reality which is that sexual abuse of children is so commonplace it isnt even registered as such

The structural issue I have with the "transfeminist" TME person is that they will inevitably view a transmisogynist as some sort of cartoon villain, rather than an axis of oppression that they themselves can take part in and they will hold expectations of trans women being "perfect victims" when trans women are actual human beings who also have flaws and contradictions of our own. Transfeminism requires you to be able to engage with trans women on a human level.

It feels like so many (even "leftist") people in the USA are desperate to skirt around the objective fact that Military service is voluntary. They wanna come up with every reason under the sun to not have to acknowledge that it's a conscious choice to sign up.
"Oh but recruiters-" military service is voluntary. this is not a situation where it's *legally* voluntary but people are basically forcibly conscripted. It's a situation where the lives of other people are seen as less valuable than the financial enrichment of US citizens.
you are not adding "nuance" by saying (debunked) shit everyone has already heard. you are refusing to acknowledge the fact that military service is voluntary because then you'd not be able to present yourself as the victim.

something else i've been thinking about a lot in the past couple days in regards to the amount of rampant transmisogyny within the intersex community on tumblr is how the most recent wave seemed to start with just a few users and their mutuals who were openly posting this kind of stuff and inciting harassment campaigns against trans women, but how so much of that rhetoric has spread pretty wide into many different parts of intersex tumblr, and also is often the first introduction to intersex topics for people questioning intersex on here.
and to me, that makes it very clear that a lot of this stuff has been happening in smaller and bigger ways for many years before this, and that many of the intersex users on here who might have claimed to be transfeminists at one point have not bothered to evaluate the ways in which we might be complicit in perpetuating this kind of shit within the online intersex community.
i'm thinking about the amount of interactions i've had with intersex people on this site who will privately say to me "well, i agree with what you're saying about xyz tumblr user, but I like their other intersex posts" or "well I can't say anything about transmisogyny on this blog because I'm mutuals with one of their mutuals and i don't want them to get mad at me" or "the intersex community is so small, i can't afford to alienate people by speaking out against what this person is doing" or people just reblogging posts claiming that terms are historically intersex exclusive without bothering to do a basic search of whether or not that's true. or several other examples I could give of ways that people are spreading this rhetoric or participating in harassment campaigns under the guise of plausible deniability. i'm also thinking a lot about all the intersex transfem friends i had on here who have now deleted their blogs and who have been basically de facto exiled from other intersex groups that they used to be a part of, and how we now just connect in other ways online because they were facing so much harassment on here.
sometimes it feels like the main discussions on here that involve intersex topics seem to have shifted so far away from real life discussions of intersex experience and instead seem to mostly just be about intersex identity as a rhetorical concept. and in particular, people trying to find ways the concept of intersex identity can be weaponized to attack transfeminist theory.
I'm also reflecting on how so much of this shit isn't new. I remember back 3 and a half years ago when mod Stev and I made an announcement in the (now mostly inactive) intersex discord server associated with this blog saying "Please don't use the word/concept of transandrophobia or transmisandry in this server; here's four sources and a long explanation of why this is the guideline if you want to keep engaging in this space" and how big an upset that was at the time and the amount of hate we got for that from some people. I'm thinking about how there was a known transphobic intersex tumblr blogger who got so mad about me calling her out on her transphobia that she deleted her blog back in...i want to say it was 2021? and despite that, she came back this year for a while and got popular again incredibly fast, in part because of the ways she was openly spreading terf rhetoric.
the intersex tag on here seems to me like the worst it's ever been in terms of harassment and intra-community violence in the six years this blog has been on tumblr in a way that is also concerningly bleeding into some of the irl intersex activist spaces I'm in. and i think that if the tumblr intersex community doesn't start actively speaking up about the shit that is going on right now and actually confronting the people in our community who are posting hateful rhetoric and harassing trans women that it is just going to get worse. especially when it comes to transmasc people in the tumblr intersex community who have been silent or actively posting this kind of thing, (and to be clear, i'm saying that from my positionality as a tme intersex person--this is a critique that i'm including myself in here.)
i don't really know how to end this post except for to say that i do believe it is possible to have a movement for intersex liberation, built on the principles of intersex justice that works to build resources and community and safety. but i don't think that can happen without actively (to quote the 10 Principles of Disability justice) building a commitment to cross-movement organizing and leadership of the most impacted. and that i don't think there's any way we will have a movement for intersex liberation without transfeminism.

obviously Canada has its own home-grown transphobic infrastructure (transgender athletes are now banned from playing in women's sports in Alberta, for example; Jordan Peterson's primary claim to fame was his meltdown about including gender identity in the Canadian Human Rights Act; the Conservative Party of Canada's platform in the last federal election included banning trans women from playing sports, using women's bathrooms and change rooms, and entering women's shelters or prisons; etc), but its awesome that the United States is also subsidizing anti-trans research at Canadian universities
much like student efforts to get universities to divest from Israel, there is an open letter going around asking McMaster (a globally renowned health sciences university - our best and brightest!) to stop its research partnership with the "Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine" (SEGM), a massive anti-trans hate group.
SEGM has protested the ban on conversion therapy in Canada, is cited by Clarence Thomas in the US v Skrmetti decision upholding the ban on gender-affirming care for minors in Tennessee (if you ctrl+F the full name of the group you'll find it - the McMaster research is cited in that one too!), is cited extensively in Trump's 400 page anti-trans report (as is the McMaster research), and has funded research used to justify the Florida decision to ban coverage for gender-affirming care to Medicaid recipients (critique of this here from the Yale School of Medicine).
anyway, Canada is heading down the same path as the UK and the US, and with the exact same tactics - going after trans youth and trans women first by using the exact same academic work like the Cass Review. really not feeling great

did u kno that president Lyndon B. Johnson set up a commission on obscenity in pornography in 1969? (nice) The supreme court had just ruled that people could view whatever content they wanted in the privacy of their homes, and the country was in a moral panic over it. (Stanley v. Georgia) The commission was comprised of a wide array of scientists, who performed extensive randomized surveys of the country…and commissioned Berl Kutchinsky to study the legalization of hardcore pornography in Denmark. His report was titled Studies on Pornography and Sex Crimes in Denmark (1970). Kutchinsky’s findings showed that increased availability of pornography had not led to an increase in sexual violence. He found that the incidence of certain sex crimes had in fact fallen, including rates of child sexual abuse in Denmark. As a result, the presidential commission published it’s report which recommended sex education, further funding into research on the effects of pornography, and we as restrictions on pornography access to minors…with free access for adults. The report also found: -That there was “no evidence to date that exposure to explicit sexual materials plays a significant role in the causation of delinquent or criminal behavior among youths or adults.” -That “a majority of American adults believe that adults should be allowed to read or see any sexual materials they wish.” -That “there is no reason to suppose that elimination of governmental prohibitions upon the sexual materials which may be made available to adults would adversely affect the availability to the public of other books, magazines, or films.” -That there was no “evidence that exposure to explicit sexual materials adversely affects character or moral attitudes regarding sex and sexual conduct.” The report was met with disgust from congress, who denied the research results. Nixon, who had become president by the time the report was released, also rejected it. When Reagan took office, he appointed his own commission in 1984, headed by his own attorney general. Reagan’s commission released their own report in 1986 that claimed that there was a causal relationship between pornography and delinquency. Who did this research? No one did. The commission did not have any scientists.

Hey, I'm a non-binary transfemme and my job has been fucking me over on hours and tips for the last few months, now I'm a couple hundred short on rent and behind on my phone bill. I'm currently looking for a new job but that's been difficult as my physical diabilities limit my availability and the work I can do. If you're able to help me by donating or sharing at all it'd be extremely appreciated.

Black Aromantic Texts Masterpost
It can be hard finding aromantic texts especially outside of the context of asexuality. Because of this, Black and mixed perspectives of aromanticism can be left out. That's why I'm sharing all the works I found for this Aro Week in a masterpost. Please share this around and support the OG Black aro writers and creators too! Tagging @blkaroculture as that's the new official Black aro culture account.
Michaela Coel On London and Love in Netflix Musical 'Been So Long' by Ann Lee on The Culture Trip (2018)
'“I googled aromanticism and I very much felt like, ‘Oh, that’s me.’ Which means if you tell me to dress up nicely because we’re going to go to a dinner with candles, it’s not going to mean a lot to me. It’s a waste of money and I have ingredients at home. Things like weddings and the expense of these things – I would rather settle for the rest of my life with a person. I am OK being by myself.'
Being Aroflux and Black by Kimberly Butler (@/TheAsexualGoddess) for AUREA (2021)
'I think black women could feel more assertive in themselves if they realized that they can be Aromantic and not pushed into this box where they have to play a role they don’t want to play. Black women deserve to explore romantic orientations as well as sexual ones and have a deep dive into how they feel. And that should be respected.'
My Personal Experiences in the Aro community by Jason W. for AUREA (@/DerelictSpectre) (2021)
'I am unaware of any exclusive space for Black aros, however I believe the creation of one would be best for the safety and wellbeing of these members of our community.'
hello! from a Black Aromantic by Mazarae, idkjustwordsyameen.wordpress (2021)
'..but because of my undesirability, because of my Blackness and Black womanhood, and because of my aromantic identity, I feel very much cut off from having the types of relationships that I would like to have.'
"I'll never fall in love and that's OK"know what it means to be aromantic by Yasmin Benoit for Stylist (2022)
''We are taught that you can have everything – great friends, a loving home, a beautiful family, a successful career, comfort within yourself – but if you’re single, you’re incomplete. You haven’t succeeded in life unless someone romantically loves you and you romantically love someone else. Some assume being aromantic must be a terrible thing – like you’re missing something essential. But romantic relationships aren’t the ultimate relationship, and I appreciate all of the others.''

Fascinating that many israeli propagandists on twt have nothing about Hind Rajab on their pages because it is simply too hard to spin. Usually with every tragedy they spin it but for this one silence. Its clear she died and clear she died in a car with family and clear israelis did it and for that theyd rather ignore it because it doesnt fit the narrative they spin that palestinians lie. If it werent for her phonecall they would've claimed Hamas did it which is their usual go to 🙄

people who spent the past number of years calling for global intifada and the destruction of israel now want to call themselves “anti-war” and clutch their pearls at the threat of global conflict. like what did you think you were advocating for this whole time lol

You're so cute and quirky for hating trans men 😻😻 yessssss youre the best feminist ever! Contribute to those transmasc suicide rates!!!
Huh. Sending this to a Black transfemme is honestly pretty funny (ignorant, goofy as hell) given we experience the highest rate of violence out of trans folks (about 4 out of 5 murdered trans women are Black, 78%) and the majority of nonviolent deaths (which suicide is technically counted as nonviolent) are still transfemmes.

I’ll admit these exact numbers vary by study and year because the deaths of trans people are notoriously hard to archive/record between deaths recorded in deadname, closeted trans folks, non-supportive family, poor local reporting, etc. but like.
I don’t hate trans men/transmascs, I hate misogynists/transmisogynists. Plenty of transmascs go through life day to day recognizing how bad shit is for their transfemme sisters AND being able to talk about the transphobia they experience, without transforming into raging misogynists who can’t let women speak about their issues and suffering without shoehorning their way in on some trans-flavored “all lives matter” headassery.
You are a buffoon and hated by the majority of your brothers the moment they learn of your existence. I hope you heal from this period of your life and become a functioning member of the larger trans community.
