guys getting so fat everyone has to deal w it around them… the real joy of a fat society scenario is considering how some guys might just casually get so huge people can’t help but go about their days around/on them. And all they care about is getting bigger 👀 an ideal world would just be mounding piles of guy flab grinding on eachother and blobs looking puny against bigger blobs… imagine being immobile but another guy towering besides you pushes you back as they gain so much more, and faster. ok I’m done yapping 🤤🙏

Since you did some Volo fat hc's, you got any Adaman ones?

The thing I said about him last time is that his tendency to rush into things implies that he would probably have little to no restraint around food and hunger. Unfortunately for me, this man's trivia section on Bulbapedia is basically empty. So, bear with me!

I think that he probably trains sumo with Commander Kamado. He's laid back but stern when he needs to be, which is perfect for a good sumo wrestler! It's also a pretty good counter for Kamado's approach to it, in my opinion.

His most core belief appears to be using his time to the fullest, so he seems like the kinda guy who would really value community, and eating with others, and eating good food. I also think he'd probably like seafood the most! Mostly cause his design really reminds me of the ocean.

hell yeah big boys!! it would certainly be a fascinating concept to make work! like… that massive man would probably slowly get used to crushing buildings under his bulk, but how would the people on the ground feel? how would the news react to it?

Whenever I think about a global mass expansion “everyone getting fat” scenario, I always come back to stuff like “evil fast food conglomerate takes over the world by turning everyone into fat slobs.”

I just think it’s fun to imagine it being initially stealthy, with certain brands and restaurants popping up and becoming popular, while additives in the food cause people to become more and more addicted, blowing up over time as these restaurants become larger and more prevalent, with the people too food-addled and oblivious to know what’s happening until everyone is an enormous roly-poly slob.

hehe, i think for those kinds of what-ifs, it’s really fun to consider what kind of thing would have to exist for that to happen. like… how would their advertising promote this sort of thing, and would that spread to the advertising industry? would this affect other aspects of the food and hospitality industry? it’s likely very possible for such a society to continue going strong, so the only question is how (and i think that’s a very fun question to ask)

i guess it all depends on which way you interpret his character (which are, obviously, all correct). do you think he really enjoys interacting with less “refined” types of things, or do you think he really enjoys being a less “refined” kind of person?

Joker seemed a bit insecure/embarrassed by his weight in said picture so as a follow-up, I had the idea that Joker seeks out Maruki‘s advice on the matter. The twist is, Maruki himself is fat, barely mobile I‘d say and he encourages Joker to continue pursuing that fat life together with Ryuji as it’ll make them happier than before.

Well, I'd imagine that in this sort of situation, there would be a lot of completely normalised mundane stuff related to weight. Like, people would probably just naturally become gassier as they moved into their thirties. Constant, gnawing hunger is just something you start feeling. Completely losing sight of your feet is totally normal. That sort of thing. As for the sociology stuff... if becoming an immobile blob of lard became a culturally defined goal, then a lot of things would change with it. Like, parties to celebrate both buying a house and getting married are completely normalised, and weddings specifically have a whole industry surrounding them. So, from that, a party to celebrate someone's newfound immobility would probably become a thing.

Also! You know how people celebrate buying cars and show them off to people? Well, I'd imagine mobility scooters would hold similar cultural value. In fact, you know how there's that whole thing about how cities in the US are so spread out because of the car industry? Well, the mobility industry would have quite the financial motivation to keep people outgrowing their equipment, wouldn't they?

It’s an interesting concept… why do you think they got into that situation? Were they forced, or did they enter willingly? Can they easily leave, do they want to, and if they do, do they come back the next day for more? What do they do if a smaller blob gets trapped under someone else’s fat roll? Do people go there as a dare and then… never quite leave? If it is consensual, is it true consent, or is it “consent” in the student loan sense (aka, you have the freedom of choice but choosing not to will likely have serious consequences). Do blobs get moved down floors as they get bigger to reduce risks of building collapse? I don’t tend to be super into scenarios where people’s entire lives are eating (unless it’s fully consensual), but it’s still an interesting what-if scenario

For the force feeding scenario, I'm thinking it can be an obesity epidemic where eating feels SO good that it's become expected for some to reach immobilty. It's a care facility if you ignore how they profit off people eating their product~

I see! If you don't mind me dipping a bit into my knowledge of sociology, such a society could hold getting so huge that you can no longer move anymore as a cultural goal (like getting married or buying a house in western societies,) meaning that such facilities to help immobilise people would begin to become the institutional means (the societally approved method) of achieving that goal. Since you alluded to a darker aspect of these facilities... well, I could imagine that the shake they tube feed people could become like coffee is in our society. Just what you need to kickstart your day, or the little extra push to help you press the button to get lifted out of bed in the morning!

Ryuji and Apollo Justice are competing in the Giga big bang burger eating contest. They continue to eat a lot of hamburgers with each other, and both of them are megachubs.

I haven’t really ever consider how those two would interact, honestly. They’d probably get on great, though. They both have a strong belief in justice, and… well, they both have raven-haired feeders, being Clay and Joker respectively. I can easily imagine Ryuji’s mildly competitive nature causing Apollo’s to flare up, causing Ryuji’s to strengthen… until they’re lying on several crushed Big Bang Burger barstools each shoveling burgers down their throats and sipping soda from tubes. Who would win? Ryuji, the athlete that he once was would come in handy. Though… Apollo certainly wouldn’t go down without a fight.

I think it’s a real competition between Shane, Iwai, and Wriothesley.

Shane, personality wise, just needs to be enabled to become a blob. Seeing Shane not at least lower-level obese just looks wrong to me. Especially if he stopped making that long-ass waddle to Jojamart every weekday.

Iwai doesn’t particularly like his job, and is slowly learning how to let go. He’s right up next to a fatty, greasy fast food restaurant that is famous for its massive burgers. He hires people to do his work for him… I think he’s set right up to get stuck behind his store counter.

Wriothesley, honestly, doesn’t have a whole lot of a reason personality wise to get huge. However, he likely spends most of his time doing paperwork and is in charge of a massive prison that manufactures what are essentially robot helpers. The Fortress of Meropide doubling as a mobility assistive equipment and device factory isn’t even that far off.

My conclusion? Probably Wriothesley. I know that’s kind of a typical answer for me but he’s the only one who’s fully in control of his situation. If we assume that the characters will find themselves in their ideal fattening environment, then definitely Shane. He’s even the shortest, meaning that he will get the fattest the fastest.

From all your sumo stuff you've got Wrio, Itto, Thoma, Akihiko, Apollo and Simon... For any of the HSR guys, (specifically from Jing Yuan, Blade, Caelus, Mydei) who do you think is most fitting for it?

Mydei has, like, a lot going on, but I did notice that he places a lot of value on food and eating well. I think that he’d be relatively well suited to it, given his affinity for fighting when he’s not trying to, you know, kill a god or whatever it is he’s doing. He seems like he’d fit well as the sumo champion of some popular ring.

Jing Yuan… a man who appears lazy, but is quite powerful, and prefers to be preventative instead of corrective. He’s perfect to be fat. It would make sense to me if he were to be fat and be a sumo wrestler. Everyone thinks he’s lazy, until they find himself slammed with a massive belly and under his huge ass when they try and cross him.

I honestly can’t really think of a proper reason for Blade to get into sumo from a character perspective. I could, however, see him getting roped into it somehow, or even straight up forced. He is, after all, a weapon. His body could always handle it, too. It can always handle getting bigger. He will continue to be mobile until his feet can’t touch the floor.

Caelus is far easier. He seems like he’s down for everything. Especially if he has a fat fetish of his own. An opportunity to slap against other hugely obese, sweaty guys? Sign him up!
