Tori’s Tips: 3 Ways Toward A Cleaner Summer Home
Tumblr media
After a long winter, summer is finally here! If you spent the colder months indoors, you might be discovering that it’s time to freshen things up.  Prepare your home for the warmer season ahead by:
Purge the pantry!  Winter eating includes plenty of hearty meals and holiday leftovers.  Make room for fresh summer produce by removing all food items from cupboards and chillers and purge away!  While you are at it, remove all of the interior shelving and wash with warm, soapy water. Wipe down the remaining surfaces with a sponge and all-purpose cleaner to leave your fridge bacteria (and smell) free!
The bright sun may now be illuminating a not-so-clean exterior! Remove spots, dust, and smudges with a hefty cloth or dishrag to cut through the grime. Be weary of abrasive sponges as they tend to scratch sensitive surfaces and plastics.  Pro tip: wait for a cloudy day to wash the glass to prevent cleansers from drying out before you’re done wiping.
After hibernating under piles of blankets and pillows, it may be time for them to be freshened up. While your sheets and pillowcases are cleaned every two weeks, your fluffier items need only be laundered 3-4 times a year, depending on their usage. If your home machine isn’t large enough, drop off your comforter at your local laundromat for a professional deep-clean. While your bedding is away, take your vacuum nozzle to your mattress, spot clean any spots or stains, and spritz disinfectant spray so you feel as fresh laying down as you do waking up.

Tori’s Tips: How to Jetset Like A Pro
Tumblr media
Summer is the busiest travel season of them all, and whether you’re jet setting around the world or taking a road trip along the coast— traveling like a pro requires only a little planning ahead and organization. If you’re getting ready to pack your bags this summer, here are some travel tips to make sure you stay organized so you can be free to enjoy your time away:
Prep your toiletries bag even when you’re not packing your luggage. Having your mini-kit ready to go requires only a few minutes of your time, but could save a lot of headaches and panic when you realize you’re abroad without a toothbrush. Keep an inventory of what’s in your bag, what needs to be replenished, and leave a note when something runs out. Check your kit a couple days before you depart to see if there’s anything missing so you have plenty of time to buy refills.
Between our smartphones, laptops, and tablets, we carry an abundance of battery-powered devices while on the road. With every device comes an extra cord, and buying replacement cables while traveling can be difficult and expensive! Set aside a spare cable for each device, secure with a rubber band, and store them in an empty sunglasses case. Keep the case in your luggage and always rest assured you’ll be able to charge up your devices to keep them running the entire trip.
While organizing a suitcase may be simple on the way out of town, finding and keeping it that way may be more challenging.  We suggest Eagle Creek bags within your luggage to contain categories of clothing i.e. tank tops, pajamas, sports wear, etc.

Tori’s Tips: 5 Tips to Capture Your Trip
Tumblr media
One of the best parts of travel is the memories you create along the way and anyone who knows me, know I love taking documenting my loved ones lives.  But then what?  They get stuck on a computer somewhere? Too overwhelmed to do something with them?  Put them to good use on the trip home!  Use these simple tips to make the most of your summer memories:
Prepare your device for a summer of fun. Before you depart, make sure your device is backed up and cleared out to make room for your next adventure. If you’re using your smartphone, back it up to your computer or cloud storage in case something happens to it. Traditional cameras’ memory cards can be copied to a hard drive then formatted so you have as much room as possible to capture your trip.
Keep that battery charged! Not only is it always a great idea to pack a charger or two, but always have a charged external battery pack in case of emergency or lengthy layovers. Better yet, grab a case that has a battery built in, making one less thing to throw in your bag. Get the most out of your battery life by enabling airplane mode when you don’t need to connect to use cellular coverage and reconnect to upload everything when you’re back at the hotel.
Use simple apps to make photos as beautiful as possible, such as Snapseed and VSCO. Each app lets you tweak and fine-tune colors, texture, and lighting to your liking— and then allow you to share directly to social media so your friends and family can follow along.
But why leave your memories just in the digital world? Photos can jump from the screen to the palm of your hand with print-on-demand apps. Keep family and friends in the loop in real time with an old pastime...send personal photo postcards via Postagram. Better yet...get one of those tiny Polaroid Zip Printers and print out mini polaroids to share with friends on the spot!  On the flight or drive home, load your trip images to Simple Prints to create and order a photo album straight from the photos on your phone.

An Organizer's Guide: 4 Travel Tips For Your Best Trip Yet
Tumblr media
Traveling during the holidays can be stressful and draining. Here are a few tips to survive your next trip.
1. Sanitize airplne seats, trays, hotel room door handles, and phones with Herban Essentials Wipes.
2.  Don't place bags on your hotel or guest room bed when arriving so plane gunk doesn't transfer to your cozy place.
3.  Hydrate! Have bottled water on hand and drink frequently.
4.  To get over jet lag try to be in natural light as much as possible when landing, and get some exercise in to adjust you inner clock.
