Guess what ? Zakaria is right in Vendredi 16:04. This two grown-ups have no right to kick them out the way they are doing it. And I have three arguments to prove it :
1. First argument is independent of the date. When the tenant has not given back the keys by himself, some kind of policeman should take part in the eviction. Here it is visibly not the case.
You can see that only two grown-ups are at the door.
The one taking notes is probably the bailiff. He mentioned that evicting them was part of his job. He should not be confused with the landlord, because in France, the landlord is forbidden from kicking out his tenants by himself.
The one piling up boxes is probably a helper, maybe he also is a locksmith. The bailiff is allowed to use services of a locksmith to enter the appartment if the tenants are not home at the eviction time. But, he is only allowed to do that if some kind of policeman assists to the scene. Otherwise the incident is considered private property violation.
We see nobody wearing an uniform.
2. The second and third arguments are related to the time of the year where the eviction happens.
The scene is supposed to happen on April 30, a whole month after the usual end date of winter eviction truce but a whole month before the 2021 winter eviction truce will end.
The extension of the French winter eviction truce had been publicly announced on February 1st. During the truce, nobody can be evicted from home. Was the season already filmed at that point ? Anyways, there was a similar extension in 2020 and you could guess there would be another extension of the winter eviction truce in 2021.
3. There exists, kind of, a school year eviction truce for families with schooled children.
Indeed, once the rental agreement is no longer valid (for example because the tenants did not pay the rent), the tenants are supposed to leave. If they do not leave, the landlord can pay a bailiff to kick them out. If the bailiff is unable to kick them out, the landlord can ask the "prefecture" for a policemen-leaded eviction. The prefecture almost never accept to evict families with children when those are going to school and the school year is not finished yet.
