Is Religion a biggest lie...?
“Religion and Government are simply sides of the same coin” …. a quote that keeps ringing in my head since few years now.. perhaps from one of the zeitgeist movies.
I went into argument with this though just now. As I perceive, all government systems are fundamentally corrupt. Does this mean that religion too…..??? Am I unwillingly teaching my own consciousness how to get more and more corrupt through my prayers and rituals?
Let me put my thought bubble in simple words. You make small sin… you atone it during bedtime prayer, well mostly in your mind. Make it little bigger, you atone in temples and churches….confessions….offereings….vrats.
Chain goes on….Make that sin bigger than your life….Oh wait…. We just got huge donations for our temple. Make it enormous sin…Oh…isn’t that thing a biggest ‘Dham’ in this country built recently???
So question here is, Does religion teach you corruption OR religion itself is a fruit of corrupt mindsets of noble earthy people?
For time being, and at least for me, its both. More i dwell in religion, more I learn how to atone in different ways… and more I get corrupt in my own consciousness. Hence, from this moment forward, i stop dwelling into any form of defined religion, period
Every religious person i’ve seen have one thing in common. More religious they appear, more sinful their “karma” get… In their minds or in their actions… In their past if not in their present….In their subconscious if not visible on their face.
Ok. Religion is out. What next? What to fill this void in my mind with? Wait…. I know this ever since i was a kid, that your “Karma” is in fact the absolute “Dharma/Religion”. Let me try to write last few lines on this before stretching myself on writing first ever thought bubble.
Your past and current Karma depicts your future life events. That’s it, more you try to keep your current karma aligned to one the gunas ( sattvik, rajas or tamas ), more it bundles itself in form or your Dharma…aka religion. If you need to change something or to atone for, simply work on your Karma, period. And yes, next time you blame someone for bribery (religious or monetary), look within.
