Before bed, Caitlin will usually spend time brushing her hair out and make sure it has no tangles or knots in it, putting her locks in two large braids and pinning them to her scalp. It minimizes tangling in her sleep, keeps her cooler, and gives her already wavy hair more waves and volume.

Sometimes she’ll shower and bathe before bed depending on how she’s feeling, running a warm bath with lavender scented products to make her relax. If she does bathe before bed, she will wash her hair and blow dry it on a gentle, low setting, still braiding it and pinning it to her scalp in the end. 

She also moisturizes, with lotions and facial scrubs. One of her favorite routines is putting on a face mask and scrolling social media while it sets into her skin. Of course, she also will brush and floss her teeth, generally after her skincare routine.

When it comes time to actually laying down in bed, her Gothitelle will project the night sky above the bed. Caitlin had a bad habit previously of being on her phone in bed, and it made it hard for her to actually fall asleep in the end. She’s since gotten an app that puts a warm filter over the screen to drown out the blue light, but she still tries to refrain from being on her phone in bed. The projection of the sky has helped a lot, and she’s generally asleep within 15 minutes of staring at it.

Battling! Having a good battle with an opponent is a great way to make Caitlin smile, whether she wins or loses. It’s a chance for her to showcase her team and how hard they’ve all worked together. Ever since she grew out of the mindset she imposed on herself that she had to be the best at all costs, she’s had so much more fun with battling and it’s definitely shown.

Caitlin’s walk is best described as elegant. She has perfect posture and carries herself well. She does tend to be a slow walker, however, and people who are taller than her tend to leave her in the dust easily. Rarely will she force herself to hurry or slouch when she walks, even after initially waking up in the morning.

Her accent is very, very minimal. There is a hint of a Sinnohian accent that hangs on her words sometimes, but it’s hardly noticeable. Her voice is very quiet, and people often miss what she says. She’s used to repeating herself because of this. Talking loud or shouting makes her feel like she’s straining herself, so she tries to avoid it. A good example of her voice would be this.

Her pokemon make her smile! They’re all so unique and have such fun personalities. Seeing how they interact together is a treat, and it’s why when she doesn’t have any challengers, she’ll have them out of their balls and roaming her chamber. Even them doing something as simple as resting or literally nothing makes her smile. She loves her team so much and it shows.

Something that scares her is the idea of losing control over herself and her powers again. Such a thing hasn’t happened in nearly a decade now, but the thought is always looming over her. Caitlin would be mortified if it happened in the League especially, not wanting her coworkers to witness how destructive her powers can be. This fear is what made her register her Gothitelle as a service pokemon for her, and is why Caitlin keeps her so close by at all times.

In the past, Caitlin’s response to anger would have been an explosion of both emotion and psychic power. Things would get totally destroyed as she’d totally meltdown, and not being able to stop or control it made it even worse. Even after having several therapists visit the manor, nothing was improving her anger issues. Counting to ten wouldn’t work, taking deep breaths wouldn’t work. It was a much deeper issue that didn’t improve until her mother brought Caitlin home a Solosis from Unova when she was 14.

Being surrounded by psychic-type pokemon helped Caitlin and her anger immensely. They were able to connect with her mind and calm her down better than anything else could. Her solo journey through Unova also helped her grow and improve herself greatly, learning that the time spent with her team and bonding with them was far more important than winning or losing, and that her value wasn’t determined by how strong she was. She was much too hard on herself as a child; no one set expectations on her besides herself.

Nowadays, when it comes to anger, it is very rare. She hates letting her emotions control her, and tries to control them instead. If anything, her anger is much more seething and cold, almost poisonous in nature as well. If she feels any sort of rare, explosive anger come on, her Gothitelle with link minds with her and soothe her. For that reason as well, Gothitelle is a registered service pokemon for Caitlin. All of her pokemon are capable of calming her, but Gothitelle is the most perceptive about it and can act immediately. Thankfully, as mentioned, such occasions are very rare unlike in the past.

For a big part of her childhood, Caitlin didn’t have her parents around much. Between her father being part of Sinnoh’s Elite Four up until she was 13, and her mother being involved with the family business in Unova, a lot of her time was spent with the butlers and maids of the manor.

She did see her father a lot more often than her mother was, given that the woman was often overseas. When there was no challengers for the day at Sinnoh’s league, and no meetings, Caitlin did get to spend time with her dad. He’s a very kind man, softspoken and a bit quiet. It was him who got her interested in pokemon, as his team was always around when he was. The butlers and maids were always allowed to have their own pokemon out and about with them, so Caitlin grew up constantly surrounded by pokemon.

Her mother also has pokemon of her own, but she was never ingrained deeply in the battling world like her husband and his family. Her duty rest on the family business, Dymond Banking & Financial, a business that has been passed down from generation to generation, starting when her ancestors had first immigrated to Unova from Galar centuries ago. The only stipulation that her parents had about marrying Caitlin’s father was that he be the one to take her last name, to which he had no problem with doing.

Caitlin really did and still does love her parents, and she feels they became a lot happier after moving to Unova. She is a very perceptive and observant person, and she could tell not having her mom around when they lived in Sinnoh weighed on her dad a lot.

It’s nearly midnight, and instead of sleeping, she’s decided the furniture in her room needs rearranging. A glow covers her bed as Caitlin lifts it with her mind, moving it near the eastern wall and gently setting it down. No, no, wait, it doesn’t look good there. The space feels too cluttered now. She’s moving it back.
