i always get a very heavy feeling when i go through the lanza house photos

the fucking downstairs thermostat was still set to a little under 70. there was a load of towels sitting in the washer. rinsed dishes in the sink. half-drank bottles of liquor, half-empty wine cases. mail in the mailbox. perishables in the fridge. tomatoes, apples, onions, almond milk, and not a bit of it would be consumed. you get the point

it’s incredibly dissonant. death touched everything that had lived in the lanza house up until that point. you don’t think about washing your dishes for the last time, because you haven’t the faintest clue that you’ll never even touch the fucking plates again
