"Hey! I don't need..." Rowan slowly trailed off. leaning back slightly as if to mull it over.

With a deep sigh, he flicked Theo's forehead before taking a step back. "Well, come on. I get the feeling this is gonna be a thing you won't stop pestering about anyway."

"I guess you're right. Fire does seem like it'd be more dangerous than other spells, doesn't it?" He chuckled quietly, feeling relieved when Rowan casted cure. Thankfully that was all he needed, and it wasn't more serious.

"I don't? Then will you show me? If I can use magic, then I can at least be more helpful to you in case something happens!"

"So your first instinct was to go for fire, huh? How about thinking before you act next time." Clicking his tongue, Rowan waved his hand over Theo's cheek, casting cure.

"...If you're able to use magic, that means part of your memories are returning. You don't need your keyblade for simple spells."

“Stupid. Don’t go pushing yourself like that.” Rowan is already looking over the burns.

"I didn't mean to.. I just remembered how to do it, but I didn't think it'd explode in my face.." He whined, leaning closer to Rowan's touches.

"I also didn't think it'd work without a keyblade.."

"Did you ever stop to think that is exactly why." Rowan huffed, yet a hand raised to rest on top of Theo's head, ruffling their hair.

Well, if Rowan wasn't going to go to him.. it won't stop Theo from going to Rowan - so that's exactly what he did.

"Why not? Our friend is here!"

"...I'm good." He's going to continue to pout.

Grumbling Rowan noises in the distance

"Rowaaan! Come say hi!" Then there's his soulmate.

"Sometimes I wonder if I should return to Fontaine, just to see how things are going. Maybe even bring Theo along. Then I hear about all the shit that's been happening lately and realize Mondstadt isn't all that bad."

"And what if I know it's a waste of time and energy...." Rowan grumbled, pulling back slightly.

There was a moment where he remained silent. Brows knitted as his mind raced. This was something Theo wouldn't stop fighting for. That much was clear.

Did Theo even realize they had quite the stubborn side?

Releasing a breath, Rowan held out his hand, summoning his keyblade. With some hesitation, he flipped it in his grip, holding the blade tightly.

"You promise me you won't break?" He huffed, offering the hilt for Theo to take.

He wasn't exactly sure what memories were stored within his keyblade, or if it would grant Theo the power to summon his own again. Deep down, he hoped it wouldn't grant much. But Theo would push and pester until they got what they desired either way.

"I'm going to worry about you.. Because from what I've been told, what happened to our old home sounded terrifying. You went through all of that alone.." After all, Rowan had spent so much time in the realm of darkness, somehow hanging on completely by himself, for so long..

"What if.. I think it's worth it? I don't like feeling like there's something missing, I hate that I can't recall the one who's calling out to me.. I can't just ignore them for the rest of my life, can I? Chiri is waiting for me, I just know it.."

"You don't need to worry about me." He's learned to suppress those emotions long ago anyway. Emotions he reuses to allow to seep out. It took him so many years to overcome what happened. For all of that to flood back into Theo too suddenly. He wasn't sure Theo would ever recover.

Rowan huffed, wrapping an arm around Theo to keep them close.

"And this is me helping you. Believe me. S'not worth it."

"But.. I won't know if I don't try.."

Theo deflated as Rowan ruffled his hair, moving closer to wrap his arms around the other, to hide his face with another defeated sigh.

"I think.. having my memories back wouldn't hurt as much as not having them, because any kind of pain I feel would be similar to yours. I could help you better, and you could help me too.."

"And if those memories only cause you more pain? What then?"

Rowan's hand moved up to ruffle Theo's hair. A small attempt at comfort, knowing full well his words wouldn't do the trick.

"I know you want your keyblade back, but is the risk of fracturing your heart even more really worth it?"

"But Rowan.. How much more do I have to remember in order to summon my keyblade again?" Despite Rowan's warnings from before, Theo was determined to fix the holes in his memory, and reconnect with the pieces of himself that felt so within reach.. yet also intangible.

"I'm sure if I can remember, then it won't hurt anymore, right? I'm only in so much pain because of my memories, and the fractures in my heart.."

Rowan is just going to stare for a moment, remaining silent. It didn't take much to figure out what Theo was trying to do, but he wasn't one for coming up with words of encouragement.

A finger poked against Theo's forehead with enough force to push his head back. "Stop thinking about it so much. It'll only give you a headache."

He held his hand outward, brows furrowed in concentration. Only a small spark occurs, a tug deep within his chest and a painful throb between his eyes.

Theo sighed in defeat, bringing his hand back to rub at the side of his neck.

"Still nothing.. am I doing it wrong?"

Sneezes.

"Because you wanted some. If you changed your mind, then give it back."

"Ah--! Rowan, that's cold!" He fussed, but took the bowl anyway, already eager to eat what was inside - "But wait.. how did you get this so fast?"

Shoves a bowl against their cheek.

"..I want ice cream"
