hiiii !!! im actually not much in the gijinka scene, mainly cause i havent drawn a full body person in like 2 years, and typically whatever ideas i have for one are already pretty well done and already look so super cool :) but i decided to give it a try ! Lightbulb, despite not being my favorite character, is the character i draw first whenever using a new brush or canvas, so I figured she’d be a good character to ease me in !

I’ll admit, i was a BIT cocky going into this but WOW i got humbled when i actually had to try and find outfits that fit in my standards of the perfect lightbulb design. clothing design is HARD, especially with lightbulb’s color scheme. Grey and yellow are NOT appealing to me, and i really hoped to draw her in a way where she still is recognizable, but also not completely decked out in highlighter yellow.

I was really going back and forth on this trying to find SOMETHING, when god himself bestowed upon me the answer to all of my prayers.

Fred Figglehorn.

Maybe its for the bit ! Maybe she made a bet with someone years ago and keeps it going despite the person not remembering the bet in the first place. Maybe she was just really obsessed with fred figglehorn at some point and now is stuck being a fred figglehorn cosplayer because she has entirely too many of the same shirt. Who knows ! Anything she wears could be ironic, but you never know.

is this entire post a poorly veiled way of projecting my love of fred figglehorn onto a fictional character by designing them basically to be a girlypop version of him? thats on you to decide

anyways thank you for the ask !!! this was a lot of fun trying to come up with a design for her, even if she still looks pretty clunky given im really rusty ^^

I love Matilda because it's a story about a child who sees injustice around her and gets mad about it and questions why things aren't fair, and instead of the ending being that she learns how the world works and that life isn't fair, she catapults one of the adults who abused her out of a building with her mind

the baby designs honestly were the hardest part, especially for two 😞 i ended up going with Phi, the symbol for the golden ratio, in relation to the Fibonacci sequence cause yk the Fibonacci rabbit problem :p

sometimes when I'm bored, I go through the list of recent bad faith Wikipedia edits that have since been reverted. a lot of them are politically contentious/offensive topics that attract crazies and trolls in general, but sometimes there are completely innocent inoffensive articles that people attack for no reason. some guy yesterday vandalized the article on the chemical element francium

"payjay becoming canon felt forced and random" to you maybe. but not me. because i've been here for 12 years and remember a time when payjay was THE object show yaoi ship of all time. we didn't have 4x or whatevers going on with those two c2bc guys back then. outside of a few fringe bfdi ships here and there, payjay was all we had. payjay ran so that all your dogshit boring toxic yaoi could fall on its ass and die. payjay has existed before a lot of modern ii fans were even BORN. finding payjay art on deviantart back in 2012 was how i found out that shipping two characters of the same gender was even an option. while there's an argument to be made about ships becoming less interesting when they're made canon, if one more person says that canon payjay is "out of nowhere" i am going to start shitting blood.

one of the most thankless tasks that comes with showing your friends inanimate insanity is having to let them know whenever another voice actor got taken out back and shot to explain why a character suddenly sounds different. you will have to do this a shocking amount of times.
