The relationship between Sabine and Fenn Rau is so precious to me.
(3×6 Imperials supercommandos)
Fenn Raul and Sabine
"I made a deal with the Empire to survive.I made a deal with your Rebellion to survive. But joining You? My only true loyalty is to Mandalore"
"Well, I'll keep trying"
"I admire your persistence, Sabine Wren. You could have been a Protector, if not for your traitous past." ( He’s not talking about what happened at the academy—he’s talking about the Wrens and the Death Watch)
*****
"I really thought you left us."
"I considered it. Then I realized You were willing to die for your people, even though they are not Mandalorian. You haven't forgotten our ways. That has earned My respect."
(3×14 Trials of the darksaber)
Fenn Raul To Kanan
"I imagine Sabine was excited to recover it (...) She doesn't want the responsability. Kanan, if Sabine can wild this saber, She can reunite one of the most powerful houses in all Mandalore (...) With Sabine leading It". (Said with excitement)
*****
Fenn and Sabine
"(...) As what that blade represents."
"Right, right, You want me to lead my clan. I don't know if You realize this, but i'm not that popular with my family these days."
"That can change."
Fenn knows that Sabine can do it. It’s not about if—it’s about when. He has seen her in battle, in games and strategy, the good and the bad. To him, Sabine is truly Mandalorian. But Sabine doesn’t feel that she is the one, you know? Because everyone in her life has made her feel unworthy.
Because damn. This girl can catch a break.
Her Ex Best friend being a bitch that give her for dead. And badmouth her?
(2×8 Blood sisters)
Kektsu Onyo to Chopper.
"I had a feeling She wouldn't leave You. She was always soft."
In that same episode, Ezra points out that Sabine does everything alone and explicitly says, 'Leave me alone'
Or in 3x15 with her mother. It's clear Sabine never lived up to that woman's expectations. That didn't exactly help her self-esteem.
Ursa and Sabine
"Fenn Rau's people are dead and mine are not. And I intend to keep them that way. All of them."
"Except for me."
****
"If we stand together now..."
"Stand together? Sabine, it's everything I can do to keep the other Clans from destroying us because of what You did."
"(...) But You don't believe me, do You?"
"Even if I did, it woudn't change all the other ruling houses from seeing You as a traitor."
****
"Do you Even know how to wield that blade?"
"You'd be surprised."
"Always so inmature, so selfish (...) Now I see it in You."
"What do You see?"
"A Warrior. Not the one I'd hoped, but still..."
So, Fenn Rau 10/10 with the mandalorian parenting.

They put my baby next to the disaster lineage 😭😭😭
Sabine is two spots away from Obi-Wan (with Kallus there too 😒) while Obi-Wan is with the rest of the Disaster Lineage. What’s more, the Disaster Lineage is literally what separates Sabine from Kanan and Hera

"Your legacy, like your Master's, will be one of death and destruction."
This is what Ahsoka's dark side looks like.
Tumblr media
Shin returned from the fight without Sabine and Ahsoka automatically assumed Shin had killed Sabine before Shin even had the chance to tell Baylan what happened. Ahsoka feared the worst because what Baylan said to her unnerved her to her core. And in this moment, she allowed her anger to control her actions, which only proved to Baylan that Ahsoka was, in fact, just like her master.
In this moment, Ahsoka is a master and Shin is an apprentice, and Ahsoka failed. Her rage is what ultimately caused her to lose her fight against Baylan. His move should have killed her too, but the Force intervened once more in the form of Anakin Skywalker to teach her one final lesson.
That she can choose her own path. And she did.
We saw the darkness inside of her briefly when her eyes flashed to yellow, but she didn't allow her anger to guide her actions, and that's why she passed. Her actions reflected her Jedi teachings. When Anakin disarmed Dooku, he struck him down anyway. When Ahsoka disarmed Anakin, she finally allowed herself to let go of the anger she felt and accepted that even though the Sith are part of her legacy, doesn't mean she will fall to the dark side too.
She almost fell. She came very close, but she chose to rise above instead of allowing the past to consume her. She freed herself from the fears that were holding her back from being the kind of master that Sabine needed.
And this is what it means to be a Jedi. Regardless of whether Ahsoka is a Jedi in name or not, she still follows their ways because they align with her values. Just because the Jedi lost their way doesn't mean they forgot who they were.
Many surviving Jedi still chose to help others even though the galaxy had turned against them. Many stayed on the path even though they lost everything.
And that is what Ahsoka chooses. The light. The compassion.
Her legacy will not be war. It will be love.

sorry that you think my fictional ship is illegal. I actually consulted a fictional lawyer about it and he had a talk with a fictional cop about the fictional laws and then they both looked at me, and very seriously said "we'll allow it because it's hot."

I'm at the point where I can't decide if I'm more obsessed with Ahsoka or Sabine right now, so I've spent the week alternating between re-watching Clone Wars, Rebels and the Ahsoka series.

I couldn't agree more. People also forget that Ahsoka's arc is about moving away from the past and look towards the future. If Ahsoka show had all these past character cameos it would have taken away from Ahsoka's character development arc.
Currently the small cast of the show are most important people to Ahsoka's character therefore her arc and story are revolving around them.
If she starts having to share screen with 546 different characters of her past, her character development would be less impactful.
Personally, I’m glad that Filoni opted to focus on the Master / Apprentice relationships in the Ahsoka series. I think it was fitting based on Ahsoka’s own trauma with her master that makes her reluctant to train or teach the next generation of Jedi, and while I still think Sabine was an odd choice, I do think that Sabine is a character that plays well off of Ahsoka based on their personalities.
I know there are chunks of fandom that are mad that other relationships weren’t explored. I think it’s also fair to say that, at this point, there are very few characters that Ahsoka doesn’t know in the time period, and making the show a cameo-soaked “Ahsoka and Friends” montage would have been tired, lame and pointless. I know some fans get rock hard on cameos, glup shittos and blurbos making nonsensical and inconsequential appearances, I prefer a good story that is focused and at least somewhat resembles something that makes sense. Throwing Rex and Barriss and force ghost Plo Koon and force ghost Yoda and force ghost Obi-Wan and Luke and Leia and Hera and Sabine and Zeb and Chewbacca and Han and R2D2 and C-3PO and Boba Fett and Mando and Grogu and Bo-Katan and Mon Mothma and ten other senators and force ghost Anakin and flashbacks of the Wrens and Rook Kast and Gar Saxon and Mace Windu and Baby Ben Solo and all the rest would have been so much that it would have completely taken away from Ahsoka herself… the titular character of the show.
So, I’m happy we just got Ahsoka, Sabine, Huyang, Hera, Ezra, Jacen, and the ghost/ spirit of Anakin Skywalker primarily because these are the people that matter most to Ahsoka at this point in her life. And, this allowed us to get a deeper understanding and appreciation for the character that mattered most in the story, Ahsoka.

The Mystery of Chopper Base foreshadowed Ezra's exile.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ezra's anxieties about Malachor brought him to Zeb. He was headed to a Sith temple with Kanan and Ahsoka, and it was with Zeb that Ezra was able to show his more vulnerable side.
He said it. "I don't know when we'll be back. Or if we'll be back."
And the thing is...the Ezra who came back from Malachor is not the same Ezra.
Tumblr media
The new Ezra that came back was traumatized, angry, defeated, grieving, and he blamed himself for just how sideways their mission to Malachor went. This new Ezra started wielding a green lightsaber and came very close to falling to the dark side if Kanan had not been there to pull him back from the edge.
This Ezra came back jaded and vengeful and guilt-ridden after Maul blinded Kanan, and he and Kanan had been forced to leave Ahsoka behind with Vader while the Sith temple collapsed around them.
This Ezra came back with a Maul shaped shadow doing everything possible to make Ezra his new apprentice.
This Ezra survived against Darth Vader for a second time (because someone else was there to save him).
Ezra was already grieving the death of his parents when Malachor happened. Malachor hurt everyone in his family. He brought Kanan back to Hera physically injured and forever changed, and he wasn't able to bring Ahsoka back to Rex at all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But despite the grief that everyone was experiencing, they persevered. Hera continued on with the mission and Rex spent just as much time pulling Ezra back towards the light as Kanan and Sabine did.
Hera and Kanan's final conversation before Malachor ended up becoming a reality. Kanan regained his vision and was able to look at Hera in his final seconds of life.
Ahsoka and Rex's final conversation was the very first scene in the Twilight of the Apprentice, and it was over Space Facetime. Rex was so nervous about Ahsoka going without him and she had to remind him that she was not alone. Rex is used to mourning his brothers. He's done it thousands of time. He's used to seeing his own face die over and over again. Losing Ahsoka would be different though. She wasn't a clone trooper, but she was still a soldier just like him. She was his best friend, his closest ally, someone he trusted with his life more times than he could care to count. They were each other's sword and shield.
Ezra understands these bonds. It's what his bond with Sabine was becoming.
And all of them (with the exception of Kanan because my boy sacrificed his life to save the people he loved, and Ahsoka because we don't even know when she is, let alone where she is at this point) followed Ezra into battle to take Lothal back from the Empire. They freed Lothal from the grip of Darth Sidious, but Ezra didn't get to see it happen. He was somehow surviving a long ass trip through hyperspace with space whales and a very pissed off Grand Admiral Thrawn.
He spends ten years in exile, alone, on another planet in a distant galaxy with a ship full of stranded Imperials nearby and always ready to kill him, but he still manages to find a new family, traveling with them and protecting them, grieving his loss and becoming more attuned to the Force.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Ezra that Sabine finds is so much like the Ezra that she first met on Lothal. He doesn't seem to be carrying a heavy burden, but he knows he needs to get back home because Thrawn is a Big Problem, and he's had ten years learning how to outsmart the Imperials and the Nightmothers.
He's returning home with a lightsaber that matches Kanan's and he's about to meet Kanan's son Jacen for the first time.
The empire is toppled now but he and Zeb will have plenty of war stories to trade when they see each other again, especially as the threat of the Empire's return is rising again.

AU idea where there is no Clone War or Empire or fall of Mandalore, and Sabine trains under Ahsoka from the start, there's two variants of this idea.
One: as an act of peace between Jedi and Mandalorians, Obi-Wan and Satine sponsor an exchange program where apprentices study for a few years under the other's practice. Sabine gets assigned to Ahsoka. Ahsoka was excited for the program, while Sabine was totally pessimistic i think, it's a good time. The two of them learn about eachother's lives and warrior codes, etc.
Two: Sabine is born on Mandalore but is given to the Jedi temple at a young age, she becomes Ahsoka's first padawan. Anakin kind of fond it funny that Ahsoka, the cocky child prodigy, gets assigned a padawan who can't lift a cup, but Sabine is very dedicated to the Jedi code and mindful and insightful, so the two of them balance eachother out, but it takes awhile given Ahsoka's more casual demeanor (yknow like before the whole betrayal thing that doesn't happen in this au) and Sabine's guarded nature. They both have a strong desire to prove themselves though, so they definitely honor their lineage's legacy of being chaotic as heck.
idk if literally thought of this in the middle of lunch and didn't write it until I'm home so apologies of this actually doesn't make sense lol

I see you Star Wars Tumblr posting those Padmé “So this is how liberty dies” gifs. I get that. I hear you. But the prequel era is past now.
Time for Leia Organa and Jyn Erso gifs. Keno Loy. Saw Gerrera. Mon Mothma. That entire Luthen speech. That’s where we’re at today.

I need this in my veins right now
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
thinking about a good(?) future au where sabine is still ashoka's padawan & they struggle together to get this stubborn little mandalorian teenager through her jedi training
so basically sabine was orphaned as an infant during the war for mandalore & ahsoka takes her under her wing. but then the jedi order reaches out to ahsoka asking her if she would like to rejoin. ahsoka agrees but only if the jedi order agrees to take sabine in & allow ahsoka to train her as her padawan when she's of age.
obv the jedi are like "this girl is so insanely force null there's no fucking way you're gonna be able to train her to use the force"
& ahsoka just says "watch me"
yadda yadda yadda sabine doubts herself immensely during her training but then at fourteen she's finally able to use the force
(ezra is there too & he's being trained by caleb)

'Kanan and Ezra train Sabine to fight with the darksaber.'
This is so important as everyone keeps saying Sabine's force sensivity / Ahsoka taking her on as Master came out of nowhere. But if you watch the show the hints were always there.
Sabine training with Darksaber was needed for Ahsoka and her journey ahead and Ahsoka was needed for Sabine to further expand on her potential.

'This isn't Friday night discoteca. This is the military'
Yesss! The way I screamed when I read it. That outfit was atrocious, why anyone let her wear it is beyond me.
For the star wars fave/least fave thing!
1, 3, 8, and 19?
Ohhhhh, so many questions. I’m excited to get my teef into these!
Favourite/Least Favourite Movie
Someone else beat you to this punch, so just the short answers.
Favourite: Rogue One
Least Favourite: Solo
3. Favourite/Least Favourite TV show episodes.
Omg, I’m not sticking to just one!! I kinda need to break this all down to the different series. Sorry Andor, you get enough love from everyone else that I'm gonna skip over you. And sorry Book of Boba Fett, I haven't invested enough energy to know you better yet to have strong opinions.
The Mandalorian.
Favourites: Yes I’m giving myself two answers here. Firstly, the Foundling. I love seeing how Bo-Katan goes about fitting in with the Children of the Watch, working out how to live their lifestyle, but then also still showing off her natural leadership qualities and her tenacity. Also, we get the shoulder touch. So fucking gay. Inject that straight (queerly) into my veins.
The second fave is The Jedi. I hadn’t watched any of the animation series before Mando S2, and when she came onto my screen, I sat up and paid attention. Ahsoka Tano, my blorbo beloved. I needed to know everything about her after watching that episode. Cue brainrot.
Least Favourite: Probably the Passenger. Felt like another filler episode. The typical “you only get to progress in the storyline if you fulfil this side quest” was growing old on me by this stage. Plus, giant spiders on an ice planet. Ick. No thanks. And Grogu eating the Frog Lady’s babies, UUUGGGGHHHH!!!!!
Ahsoka series.
Favourite: Time to Fly. It gave me tension-filled Sokabine. It gave me Jacen Syndulla. It gave me Ahsoka doing unhinged stuff like going outside her ship in space to fight off attackers. It gave me Sabine’s gay-panic face. It gave me purrgil. It gave me Huyang being an honest arsehole. It gave me Sabine losing a fight to a cup. I’m more than willing to overlook the completely stupid storyline writing for Hera’s subplot for everything else that episode did give me.
Least favourite: Far, Far Away. Not enough Ahsoka in this episode. And no Hera. So that instantly makes me sad. Also Sabine is written so poorly in this (no shade at Natasha for it, she did well for the poor hand she was dealt). Sabine’s smart, and yet all episode she’s just being all “where’s Ezra?” Smart Sabine wouldn't be standing at her prison door, banging on it and yelling about some deal that can't be fulfilled yet anyway because they aren't even on the fkn planet yet. Smart Sabine would be taking in her situation so much better. She'd be finding air vents to sneak into, so that even if she couldn't escape through them, she'd know the layout of the ship for whenever the New Republic might come up to fight against it. She’s be coming up with a plan to get Ezra and herself back home again once she’s let loose or makes a gaol break. She’d be stealing another TIE fighter with decent scanner equipment and faster travel, not being given a cowardly howler to search an entire planet that Ezra’s been hiding on for ten years on foot. They did her intelligence a massive disservice this episode. Also wasn’t a fan with how contemptuous they made Thrawn of Baylan and the Jedi in general. Chiss culture has a certain reverence for Force-wielders, and even though Kanan and Ezra were the enemies of Thrawn throughout Rebels, he always showed a level of respect towards them. Actually, Thrawn was pretty poorly written for the whole damn show. Bring Tim Zahn to the table to write the character properly, I beg you.
The Clone Wars
Favourite: The Phantom Apprentice. NGL, the last after of season seven of The Clone Wars was peak Star Wars. Fight me. But with this episode in particular, that fight sequence between Ahsoka and Maul, the dialogue leading up to it, the tension and shadow hanging over the entire episode? Perfection. It makes me believe Anakin’s fall so much more, in that Ahsoka’s absence from the events of The Revenge of the Sith speaks more to Anakin’s emotional isolation and manipulation to turn on the Jedi.
Least favourite: Can’t really say a particular episode. There were a number of filler ones that I just yawned through. There was one that focused on Anakin and Padme’s relationship, that was probably my least enjoyable. I get that their relationship was toxic/fucked up/doomed to fail, I don’t want to see more of it. Gives me the ick.
Rebels
Favourite: Twilight of the Apprentice. I get Maul back. Ahsoka is a badass. Kanan is a legend. I cry like a bitch at the end of it. But Ahsoka’s not actually dead either. Wins all round for me.
Also, Hera’s Heroes. Where we get a real introduction to Thrawn. I love his assessment of her. The respect, the admiration, that he has for his enemy. How he sees her as a worthy opponent.
“War, it's all you've ever know, isn't it? You were so young when you survived the Clone Wars, no wonder you're as equipped in spirit to fight as well as you do. War is in your blood. I studied the art of war, worked to perfect it, but you? You were forged by it.”
Gives me shivers. I really hope they do future Thrawn vs Hera justice in upcoming movies/shows, but I know I shouldn’t hold my breath…
Least favourite: Jedi Knight. It was an amazing episode. I don’t think I’ve watched any Star Wars (with perhaps the exception of Rogue One) that’s managed to pull such unexpected emotion out of me. And for that reason, I cannot bring myself to watch it again. I dunno. Maybe one day when I’m feeling emotionally robust. RIP Kanan. You deserved such a heroic death, but you also deserved to live. Fuck you, Governor Pryce.
8. Favourite/Least Favourite Concept
Favourite: That the Force is in everyone. (Yes, even you!) It frustrates me that fandom miss the point of there being a difference between Force-wielding and Force-sensitivity. Anyone can use the Force, but those who are selected to train as Jedi from a young age have a natural ability to wield it, because if you don’t have that natural ability, tapping into it and wielding it is hard. Even those with natural aptitude for the Force find it hard! Ezra Bridger? Force sensitive. Had the abilities from a young age, and just required mentorship/guidance on how to best connect with and use them. Sabine Wren? She has the Force sensitivity of a sandwich. She is not Force-sensitive. Which is why Kanan didn’t ‘pick up on Sabine’s Force sensitivity’, because she didn’t have any! She was just a stubborn woman who decided she wanted to try the seemingly impossible and found a master who was unhinged enough as her to try it too. I think a lot more people could use the lesson from her story, about persistence, patience and hard work paying off. Anywho, end rant there.
Least favourite. That ‘falling to the dark side’ is somehow freeing/a good thing/something to strive for. I hate how they made Osha Aniseya seem like she’d achieved some kind of ‘enlightenment’ from having just killed her father figure, abandoning her sister to have her memory wiped, and teaming up with some attractive stranger who had just murdered a bunch of her friends. It wasn’t enlightenment. It was manipulation. STFU.
19. Favourite/Least Favourite Outfit
Favourite: Live-action Ahsoka’s outfits. Yes, even that poncho that hides her gorgeous deltoids from view. It looks so damn cosy. I love that those outfits give those tiny, tantalising hints of skin whilst still being modest and practical. They’re minimalistic in a way a Fulcrum operative would be, but with some random personal touches that we don’t fully understand yet (Like those beads at her belt. Are they meant to be her old padawan braid? Or Sabine’s padawan braid? Are they just rhythm beads? It’s anyone’s guess at this stage!) But mostly, she just looks comfortable. And since owning both the Adidas wrestling shoes from her white outfit and the Tabi shoes from her dark one, I can attest that they are so damn comfortable whilst also feeling like I could run over any terrain or kick some bad guys’ butts. I’m totally here for it.
Also, Mother Aniseya’s outfit. There’s just so much damn detail to that garb. The fabric. The layers. I love it. Also looks like it would be a cosplayer’s nightmare.
Least favourite: This is probably going to get me cancelled, but I must speak my truth. Leia’s first outfit, the white robe. The "Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi" one. It looks like a bedsheet. There. I said it. I don’t mind the whole idea of a plain white dress that covers her up, I just hate whatever fabric they used. How it hangs. Just screams worn-out bedsheet. And fuck trying to keep that thing clean.
Also, the padawan boob-tube. ‘Soka, babes. Just no. This isn’t Friday night discoteca. This is the military. Put your teenage midriff away and go find yourself something with pockets. You’ll need them.
