I have traumatized sweet baby Ophelia quite thoroughly. So, like, she's been super angry at Rahadin and Strahd and the frustration has been mounting over the past several sessions. Well. A little while ago, one of the party members left (player just wasn't enjoying themself anymore and left) to try and "reason with Strahd".

Literally everybody told him Strahd was not going to listen to some 20 yo human warlock when he's been thirsting after this girl for like 800 years. Like, be for real. But no, Warlock was not for real, so he stayed in the castle.

Anyway. Fast forward. We lay a trap for Rahadin. Rahadin does not arrive. YOU WANNA KNOW WHO ARRIVES??? The now NPC betrayer with a wimpy lil wizard, an asshole cult leader, and a vampire bride. And Y ' A L L. Shit goes so bad SO FAST. WE GOT W R E C K E D. Ophelia almost died AGAIN. Culty Lady got the one fucking person we weren't supposed to let Strahd have and just bounced the fuck off. So we lost Ireena. We lost Culty Lady. The lil wimpy wizard died at like some point in there. But now there was Warlock and the bride. Ophelia, just so angry at EVERYTHING, just takes his fucking head off.

Which led to her staring at a wall for like 3 hours until her friends came back from chasing Ireena. They did not catch Ireena and Strahd was super smug about it. So, tonight will be fun.

Likely happening sooner than expected, but Ophelia is going to die. The little dumbass ran right into a trap and found herself ALONE, at less than half her health, facing two Iron Constructs. Katie knew Ophelia was probably gonna wind up in some hot water. Ophelia knew this on a subconscious level, but did not care.

It was so hard to make this decision, knowing that it would bite me in the ass...BUT IT'S WHAT SHE WOULD DO. I cannot deny it.

Update, Ophelia is still kicking!! Literally, because she's a monk lmao. However. The turtle man spilled all his secrets and is super guilty about certain choices after a certain curse was removed. One of which was manipulating our sweet baby Ophelia and she's low-key super in love with him. And now she's gotta look out for the vampire because we're in the castle on top of the hag. ON TOP of the guilty tortle who may or may not have a death wish. ALSO her gnome best friend forever, who is getting super nervous and wants to scorched earth Castle Ravenloft. (There's also beef between him and the human fighter that she's constantly mitigating). Not to mention, Ophelia isn't the brightest star in the sky. She's the youngest and most naive member of the party and is one impulse away from flipping tables at Strahd's face.

Long story short, if the hag doesn't get Ophelia, the stress will.

Last week in the actual Curse of Strahd campaign I'm playing, we managed to save all three of the kids we were supposed to...but one of the enemies got away. She is now stalking us, and because Ophelia is the one who killed her sisters, I'm hoping she's coming for me. I'd say give me angst or give me death, but I'm probably getting both in tonight's session, let's be real lmao.

Curse of Strahd campaign I'm in rn bounces between super hype and emotional to joking about color coding bikinis (my hobgoblin is the only woman in a group of five) for our "obligatory beach episode" when we explore Lake Zarovich. And I am highkey living for it.

This story is really fun to write because I'm incorporating actual ability checks to see where it goes and what the characters are capable of. It's actually a little fun, because I've already had unexpected results.
