Custom Starting Sims for CAS (Tutorial & Mod)

Making my way through various CAS files, I found something that I thought might be interesting to at least someone?👀😊

You know, how when you go into CAS, one of EAs sims shows up as the starting sim? You can replace these sims with your own sims. Or, in case you have a certain sim style, you can make it so that only a certain sim, that you want to use as a base, shows up.

Below I show how to do it and share files that you can use as a base (as well as some examples with my own sims).

The Sims 4 Kids Room Stuff: Official Trailer

Puppets! Voidcritters! Looks awesome - great to see more clothes and hairs for kids! Hopefully this will inspire me to play them a bit more! I don’t think this is the strongest stuff pack idea, but new content is always fine with me! Two packs in a month? I guess this makes up for no pack in May! Details :: YA-Elder, Freckled and Non-Freckled versions. Features a soft nose shine, nose tip detailing, smooth finish, and @noodlesims collar bone from Ramen Noodles (thats the blended bit ;3). I’d consider this Maxis Match-ish? Can be found in Skin details, all in the same option, so you’ll need to make sure you select the right skin for the bodyshape you’re using.

Hi vimpse! :D I have a request of some kind, Would you upload your gen&town version of Lilith's Honey (and Honey Freckles) Skinblend? I use the same defaults, so they won't recur... I hope it's not too much to ask for ;)

Hai! :) Sure, I can do that - and I’ll even take it one step further, just in case someone would like this: I have now zipped up *all* my geneticized and townified natural skins, that means Honey, Honey Freckles, Apple Pie and the Feathers Addons. Included is also the genetic scale they follow (in a .txt file), so you could work them into any scale you might already have in your game by deleting the skins you don’t want to keep and adjusting it accordingly.(are you reading this going “what the hell does that mean”? take a look here to learn more about it.) 

Simply put, these are all the natural skins I have, both townified and geneticized. If you put them into your downloads folder, townies and NPCs can (and will) start spawning with them. If you have babies, the newborns might get them. The genetic scale should be near perfect. The skins are not dependent on each other so you can delete whichever sets (or single skins) you don’t want - like amonsimmies here can delete Apple Pie and Feathers to just keep Honey and HoneyFreckles, like they asked for. :) The scale is built around Fivey’s Honey defaults, which you can grab here. :>

I’m trying to keep this short, so if anyone has any questions and/or encounter any problems, feel free to ask. ^_^

THE SIMS 4:  Expansion Pack Survey

There’s a new The Sims 4 survey out (it’s by invitation only, check your email) that includes descriptions for seven potential expansion packs.

Popular expansion packs from the last survey (University, Pets, Seasons and Hobbies) were excluded this time.  While the less popular expansion pack ideas (Rise to Fame, Careers and Crime-Justice) were re-worked and included again in this survey.   Of note, this is the first survey to include a Business expansion pack. 

And for the second time there’s no mention of a Generations type expansion pack — which could mean it’s the first expansion pack and is already in development so there’s no point of including it in a survey.  Or not.  Time will tell.  The unannounced first expansion pack is speculated to be released March 2015.  

ACTIVE CAREERS

Your Sims will have the chance to experience a variety of fully interactive careers that provide exciting gameplay and opportunities for you to tell all new stories.  Directly control your Sims’ every action while they’re on the job and watch as they create new inventions as a Scientist, help cure other Sims as a Doctor, or solve crimes as a Detective amongst other career options. Details/Features

Doctor Career:  As a Doctor you’ll be able to examine and treat patients, perform surgery, and deliver babies - all within the new Hospital.

Scientist Career: Create new inventions in the Science Lab, conduct experiements on yourself and others, and perhaps even uncover aliens, alien worlds, and alien technology in the dessert as a Scientist.

Detective Career:  You’ll be able to investigate unique crime scenes, book and interrogate Sims at the Police Station, and patrol the streets solving crimes as the newest detective on the block.

Office Career:  As a sales expert you’ll be working the phones, gossiping in the lunch room, playing office pranks on your boss, and closing big deals.

Maid Career:  As a maid for hire you’ll be helping Sims keep their homes clean, but you’ll also be learning their deepest secrets in the process.

Personal Stylist Career:  Become a personal shopper and outfit your clients with the latest fashions in clothing, makeup, and accessories.

Architect Career:  Using Build Mode, you’ll get to design and build houses and venues for all of your neighbors and fellow citizens of your town - for a fee of course.

Interior Decorator:  With an eye for interior design, you’ll get to design Styled Rooms for all of your clients.

New Neighborhoods:  Travel to and explore new career based neighborhoods that have offices, hospitals, etc., as well as new collectibles that will help you get the job done right.

BUSINESS OWNER Experience the life of an entrepreneur in The Sims 4.  Build a variety of different business types and manage both employees and customers alike.  Create unique products, imbue them with special sentimental valies, and run your business as you see fit. Details/Features

Create & Manage A Business:  Design a store to attract the right customers, fill it with the right items to drive sales, manage the business by hiring and firing employees, and advertise to gain more customers.

Create A clothing Boutique:  Assemble custom fashions to sell in your own clothing boutique.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS Help your Sims live a healthier and happier life!  Participate in all new wellness activities including emotionally soothing massages, mud baths, acupuncture, steam room saunas, and personal training.  You’ll also have the opportunity to open and manage a wellness center to spread health and happiness, while earning some extra Simoleons in the process. Adios!

As much as I love the simblr community, I will be leaving.. well sort of. I have recently revived my decor and DIY blog and want to focus on that, and my upcoming YouTube channel.

I really want to make a career out of these 2 ventures because blogging and decor/DIY have always been my passion. Because of this any free time I have will go to blogging or recording/editing videos. I will probably still play sims a bit, but I won't have time to edit and post about my little simmies. I will still reblog things (more for personal use) but I know many of you may find that uninteresting.
