I was rereading your Silver Spoon AU stuff (focused on Mu Qing because he's my favourite) and the one talking about when Xie Lian and Mu Qing die and that Mei Nianqing has to burry both his students. Does that mean that his and Mu Qings relationship gets better after Xie Lians death?

Briefly, yes. Mu Qing dies like ~3 years after Xie Lian does, so Mei Nianqing and Mu Qing's relationship did get better briefly after XL's death. Notably MNQ tried to keep MQ from fighting in the civil war, because he doesn't want him to die like XL did. Of course it doesn't end well, and before Mei Nianqing finds out that MQ & XL have become devastation ghosts, he goes to their graves quite frequently. He always leaves purple hyacinth flowers on Mu Qing's grave.
