I was chatting with some of the guys I bask with and they said the way I catch minnows is problematic; What I do is I sit on the bottom of the lake, I hide myself in the mud and I open my mouth. My tongue looks a lot like a little worm so I wiggle it around- and because of that, minnows swim over and check it out. Once they get close enough, then I bite down and eat them. Some of my rockmates have told me that this is manipulative and toxic behavior- but they also eat minnows...I don't know guys...

Okay, these two moments combined break my heart a little bit (into tiny pieces):

He leaped up on to the faggots, and raising the sick man lightly he sprang down again, and bore him towards the door. But as he did so Faramir moaned and called on his father in his dream. Denethor started as one waking from a trance, and the flame died in his eyes, and he wept; and he said: 'Do not take my son from me! He calls for me.' RotK, book V, Chapter 7 "The Pyre of Denethor"

The only thing Denethor wanted is to hear his son speaking one last time. And his wish was granted.

He did hear Faramir speaking, and not something random. Before the end he was reminded that despite everything bad that happened between them, Faramir still needed him. Faramir called for his father, not Gandalf, or Imrahil, or Boromir, or anyone else. Deep down he believed that if something bad is happening to him his father would be the one who will come and help (and he's right; however crazy Denethor's actions are in these scenes, he does it not to "punish" or "torture", he truly believes that he's doing what's best for Faramir in these conditions). That's heartbreaking as it is.

But there's more. It's Faramir who is able to bring Denethor back to his senses, even for a little while - something no one else could achieve, all the others who tried to reason with the madman were ignored. The only words that mattered were the ones from Faramir.

If that doesn't mean they really loved each other as close relatives are expected to...

Like, I don't know, if such a scene happened in some pairing with a similar dynamics (two characters always fight, while actually caring about each other plenty), I'm sure the shippers would fiercely claim it a proof of true love.
