Why you should stay away from Dean Winchester. He's no boyfriend material

He's got anger issues

He drinks a little too much

He's a gun nut

He doesn't talk abou his feelings

He's a warrior, he's been through some tough shit and brings a lot of trauma with him

There will be no vacation on other continents

He's already in love with a weird, dorky angel

And that’s why Dean’s always all over the food. Why he eats like he’s starving every damn time.

Because he remembers what it’s like. Being hungry. Not knowing when—or if—there’s gonna be a next meal.

Sam doesn’t get it. He never had to. That’s why he looks at Dean like he’s crazy when he piles his plate with cocktail weenies at a goddamn funeral.

Sam asking for the last of Lucky Charms bc he's sick of Spaghetti O’s and Dean giving in and handing him the box of cereal bc of his selflessness and he'd rather starve than to watch his picky little brother not eat.

And little Sam giving Dean the toy prize that's inside the box, his childhood innocence shining through since it's something really valuable in his eyes. Thinking that this will help, unaware that toys don't help with hunger. It's something sweet, but sad given their situation.

Imagine Sam is sitting in the library, hearing muffled words from the kitchen. Dean and Cas are arguing. Suddenly, it echoes down the hall to Sam: "Are you fucking serious, Castiel?!"

Sam falls backward from his chair. A moment later, I fall over, too.

Chapter 4 - Enemies and Allies

“What’s wrong with her, Cas?” Dean’s voice brought him back.

“I don’t know, Dean. Human bodies are simple. Any wound, any illness—I can fix that with a bit of grace. But this? This is magical. Maybe even partially psychological. That’s… not so simple.”

Dean chewed on his lip, thinking. “So what is her body telling you?”

“Like I said—it’s not that simple.”

“Then make it simple!” Dean nearly shouted. He was trying hard not to lose it. He knew it wasn’t fair to take it out on Cas—he was doing everything he could. Cas hadn’t done anything wrong. But Dean was one second away from yelling at him anyway—because he just needed a goddamn answer.

It wasn’t just frustration. It was fear.

And anger. At himself. At the magic. At everything that was keeping him from just waking her up and ending this nightmare.

His heart was racing, but he forced himself to take a breath. He couldn’t fall apart. Not now.

I don't know... I always imagined they had a bathtub, too. An old-fashioned kind. Ivory white with a gold rim and those fancy claw feet. When Sam goes out and Dean's alone in the bunker, he treats himself to a long bubble bath. Maybe Cas is watching him...

why do I have so many headcanons about showers in the bunker, here we go:

- Sam and Dean have post-hunt showers in the communal ones and talk about the hunt

- Sam has replaced the white shower curtain with something calming like the ocean, while Dean's has like, french fries on it

- Cas waits patiently outside on the bench, but clearly on Dean's side. Sam's normal and grabs his own towel, while Dean demands Cas hands it to him ("you're here, might as well be helpful, c'mon")

- Sam started using Lush products on his hair after S11. Dean mocks him relentlessly about it, but is caught smelling like strawberries. So Sam gets him the soap bar samples but retaliates by having Cas pick out the scent (Karma) "Cas, stop smelling me!" "I was right, it does suit you"

- the bunker's shower room has weird features, like a huge porcelain pan at the end that'd fit five or six single showers, and they could never figure out what it was for. They end up using it once to clean off winged Cas

“Yeah,” Dean added. “What makes you so sure it wasn’t just a dream?”

Cas shook his head. “I was monitoring her the whole time. She wasn’t dreaming.”

“Monitoring?” Dean repeated, eyes narrowing. “What do you mean by that?”

Cas gave him a look like the answer should’ve been obvious.

“I was observing her brainwaves. She wasn’t dreaming. Her brain was awake.”

“You what ? Since when can you do that? Wait—are you doing that to me too?”

“Dean,” Sam cut in, “not the point right now.”

“Sometimes,” Cas replied calmly to Dean’s question.

Dean blinked, visibly thrown. “ What?! ”
