“A-Ahh...ahh...hii!!”
Zakuro yelps and cries out for the fifth time as she somehow manages to take down a foe with her newly acquired blade. The sword is heavy, there’s monsters all around her, and she’s lost Yuki. Her arms are getting tired and her morale is low; the strange music is certainly not helping, either. Never in her life did Zakuro expect to face beasts that looked like they came out one of the shounen manga she’s read. The protagonists made it seem so easy...!
When the monster she cut down falls, she notices its light beaming into the sky, very, very close by: one of the safe beacons the woman from the abyss spoke of. If she just manages to cut her way through...
“Maybe...I can do this!”
Zakuro readies herself, and, after a bit of a struggle, raises the sword above her head to attack, and slices downwards --
The sword flies out of her hands and into the dirt a few meters away.
“...!! S-Somebody, help...!!!”

@excitablebookworm
“Hmm...the cover on this is faded...I can’t read this language...”
The ruined island proved to be an interesting place to explore. So long as Zakuro kept away from any suspicious people and didn’t look straight at the eclipse, she’d be fine. That was her plan of action and she was sticking to it. The sensation of gravel digging into her skin from when she first arrived was too realistic for her to dismiss this as a dream.
Eventually her whimsical wandering lead her to a place that looked like something resembling a library, what with its tall bookshelves that rose high as if trying to reach the blocked sun. She flips through countless books, trying to find something that might interest her, or perhaps an author she recognized from one of her conversations with Mamiya.
Zakuro sighs and places a partially destroyed copy of Through the Looking Glass back on its shelf. “Is there nothing I can read here?” Not that she’d even know if the first readable book she found would interest her in the first place...
#thread 2#excitablebookworm#fuck it im doing the starters#i wanted them to talk so badly you have no idea. Hello

‘ are you a good person? ’
“Me? A good person…?”
“I can’t say I’ve ever really thought about that…I’d like to imagine that I am. I hope that I am. All I know is…at the very least…I’m not a lowlife.”
