TECWR progress log - week 2

finished pages: 2

*not counting prologue pages

...ok so i only was able to do 2 pages because i did not take a break today or yesterday . but i will be taking my break monday and either tuesday or another day. im not sure if doing 2 days in a row would be better or not.

and there was the fact that the first page i finished, i did not do a panel but that's bc it's a shot showing a place that i will design Later. and i wll probably be drawing it again at a much later page so i can just reuse it! yay!

the second page tho i'm reaaally happy with. it looks very neat and very rainy. and also it introduces my girl!!!!

i am... a little worried about her hair. when i was starting planning TECWR i was imagining i would probably use a brush for her braids but like... i don't think i could make a brush look like it belongs with the rest of the lineart. and i mean, it might even be more annoying than just doing it by hand? i just don't know if they really Look Good and if i will be able to do them by hand every time she shows up. but! i guess we'll see! i do really like how she looks here and i hope she continues looking great.

there is also another panel that, when i look at it, im just like. wow. that looks really pretty. no one has any idea what the hell is happening there except for me.

i think my main character is the cutest thing ever and that is the main thing pushing me through tecwr (and also i like this story i need to tell this story but also my main character is the cutest thing ever).

also i keep thinking about starting publishing and i think i probably will only be updating once a week. esp bc these pages take a long time! they look sooooo much better than RIR but also take a lot longer. also... i have no idea when i could start publishing (updating). like... im gonna have a good amount of pages done before i start college in august and i am getting... kind of so impatient about TECWR i want people to be able to start reading it so bad. but im worried about starting before colleg because man who knows just HOW busy i will be during that and if i will be able to keep up. so.

however.. i would like to be able to make more than one page per week. like... at least 3 pages every 2 weeks yk. mostly because uhhhh! this is going to be a long comic! i don't actually have any idea how long it's going to be but my estimate is like 400-500 pages for literally no reason other than it Feels Right. which um... that's a lot of pages... that's going to take a loooong time to do hahahaahaaaaa.... so um.... we'll see how this goesssss hahahaahaha if this progress log goes on for 10 years um don't worry about it!

also also.... i have to figure out when i want to reveal the title and how i want to. lol!

aaand i think that's it for this week but i'll give you guys one more panel teaser bc i liked it a lot :>

TECWR progress log - week 1

finished pages: 2

i had the wonderful idea of tracking progress on TECWR (the high fantasy comic i am currently working on). but just doing it in a google doc did not sound fun. so of course ... we're doing it on tumblr. it's happening on tumblr boys!!!!

this week was a little rough ? i went a little bit insane on working on the act 1 page. these pages have a loooot more panels on them than with RIR so i'm not used to doing that much each page.

it's been a little rough in general working on the pages because of that tbh. i did want to see if i could do 2 pages+ a week consistently and therefore be able to publish 2 a week when needed but i dont really think that's happening, unless i really downsize on the amount of panels each page. which i might do anyway. bc like fr it's been like 8-10 panels each page. once i start having more characters each panel??? yeahhh no....

so we'll see how it goes! i have been trying to make sure i take a break from drawrin (at least TECWR or other art i need to do) 2 days a week. rn that's sat and sun. and i will be posting these every sunday methinks (for as long as i stay with it at least....)

maybe i'll share a panel each one too. i think this one works well
