Summary-

“Sleeping With Other People” is a movie based on two friends who have trouble finding love, only to find out that they themselves are the ones for each other. Twelve years after losing there virginity to each other, they reconnect with each other with their own relationship problems. Jake( Jason Sudeikis ) cannot commit to one girl and stay loyal. Lainey( Alison Brie ) can’t stay away from a man who does not choose her to be with him. The two cross paths at a counseling session and decide to stay friends in order to make each other better people. As there days go on, they find it harder and harder to stay away from each other. One night, Lainey sees the man she once loved with his pregnant wife. She instantly is sick and flees the scene. She has Jake come over and help her through this emotionally distressing time. Then once they are together face to face lying down in bed she realizes she loves Jake and asks “are we in love?” Jake replies with a nod. They decide not to do anything however as their lives are heading in different directions. Lainey heads off to medical school in another state while Jake resumes his life with his girlfriend, Paula( Amanda Peet ). One day, Jake is at brunch and he sees the man who has ruined Lainey’s life. He then walks up to him and punches him, which leads to a brawl between the two. Both are later arrested while charges are being pressed on Jake for assault. While arrested Jake realizes Lainey is the one as he cannot shake her from his mind. He calls her from the police station and the two confess their love for each other. Lainey then comes back to New York and talks to the guy who ruined her life. She demands him to drop the charges on Jake or she'll tell his wife about their hiddden affair. The charges are dropped then Jake and Lainey go get happily married.

Assessment-

The movie was a perfect love story capturing the true romance of two lovers. The classic movie of best friends turned lovers. Finishing with a happy ending, too, this is Romeo and Juliet on steroids. The perfect rom-com to enjoy on any movie night has you laughing until your lungs give out.
