imagine kuni becomes self aware, he isn’t sure how but he can sense you the player. at first he thinks you are a nuisance, how some big god hiding behind Lumine. but when he brings it up in passing to nahida she has no idea what he’s talking about. nobody does, they all think he’s a little crazy when he mentions some god like presence that follows the traveler around.

that pisses him off, that he can see and sense you are a different entity from Lumine that nobody else wants to mention. so he avoids you, except you keep finding him, seeking his company out. out of all the people in teyvat, you want him. he hears how happy you get when Lumine talks to him and sees how you spoil him. he tries to avoid it, but then you start making him more powerful and giving him little gifts. slowly, he starts to like it.

he starts to look forward to seeing you in the teapot and you taking him on missions, anything to be next to you. he then starts being able to see game menus and stuff, nobody else seems aware of any of this, but he is. it scares him the first time because everything freezes around him, he can barely move an inch the first few times you open your character menu. then he sees you working on raising his friendship level and nobody else’s.

while you are offline, he starts messing with things. bringing new items to your teapot and getting you more wishes, he always loves to hear you get happy by seeing how many wishes you randomly got. then he gets tired of this, he starts trying to get your attention, particularly after seeing you using Kazuha more. so he starts taking certain people off your teams when you are gone, making them leave his teapot when you put them there, and messing with menus.

then one day, while he’s messing with stuff to keep you in the game longer, he ends up opening discord. honestly, it startles him but he learns your name. he feels bad invading your personal conversations but he’ll be damned if he doesn’t learn more about you. so he reads some of them and learns a lot about you.

next time you log on, he starts speaking directly to you, saying voice lines you’ve never heard before. it’s sweet, telling you how much he loves to spend time with you and how he hopes you’ll stay with him. it’s weird at first because there wasn’t a new update anytime soon and nobody else had said anything about this, but hey at least it’s him saying it! and then it happens out of the teapot. like hell comment on random glitches or things in the story that aren’t apart of his quest lines.

one day you reply to one of his comments and he replies back. sitting there confused, you start to think maybe you’ve played too much and need to log off, except when you go to open the menu you see him scowling at you off to the side. so you do the logical thing and ask if he can hear you. which prompts him to say “I’m glad you finally caught on”.

extra: but if he sees you playing another video game, he will get jealous. you’ll check on him in the teapot and he’ll be so rude, telling you to go play whatever game you were just playing. that is until he learns how to add himself into your game <3

Reader got taken in by her grandfather, Jigoro Kuwajima (aka “Gramps”) after her parents died. But dispite Gramp’s best attempts (Making Zenitsu train harder/longer or having his granddaughter fetch something very specific for him), he could not stop them from somehow falling in love.

When Zenitsu was getting ready to depart for the final selection exam, she made a promise to him that if he made it back from there and managed to kill fifteen or demons in the span of six months, she would marry him/become his girlfriend (she only said that to him to motivate him, she would have married him even if he didn’t meet the deadline)

"50 MORE, ZENITSU." Your gramps had yelled out, standing by the side with his cane as the poor blonde headed boy laid almost lifelessly on the ground, most likely sobbing. "50?! I'M GONNA DIE, GRAMPS! YOU CAN'T DO THIS!" Again, the yelling and screams just kept on coming. But you'd be lying if you say that this is something new, at this point you're used to all this. And even find their little banters quite endearing, though as your gramps would sometimes hit Zenitsu to tell him where he went wrong.

You finally gave the small bucket of warm water and a towel to your gramps, Jigoro Kuwajima, a former Hashira of the Demon Slayers. A sneaking suspicion sometimes crosses your mind on why he would give you all these random errands whenever Zenitsu's near, almost as if making sure that you won't have time to talk to him. Maybe it's his overprotective-ness? He does think of you as his own now, raising you like his own granddaughter, quite nosy on the things you've done when you head to town. Or who you've talked to when you're there. As if he's going to eliminate any threats when it comes to you.

Of course, he doesn't think of Zenitsu as a threat, barely actually. It's exactly because he hasn't shaped himself yet. If gramps is going to leave you with anyone, he'll make sure it'll be with someone who is able to protect you at all costs. But you could care less, because honestly? He treats you greatly, and it's obvious just how head over heels Zenitsu is for you, just like how you are for him, without gramps knowing.

"Gramps, i think he's had enough for today, don't you think he's been training a little too long than usual?" You finally spoke out, pointing to the poor boy who looks like his soul has left his body, tear streaks down his face. "Sh-she's right! Gramps please! I really can't take this- I'm going to die!" With both of you tag teaming him, finally he sighed. Turning his cane along as he walks the other way, all while saying; "Fine! We'll be having a break, but we'll be continuing this later. Zenitsu, clean yourself with the towel."

Of course, Zenitsu almost bursts with tears of joy. Clinging onto you for dear life as he shouts his thankyous for 'saving' him, or so he says. Referring to you as an angel, heavensent, perfect, best girl he's ever known. You can't help but grew flustered due to all the titles he's giving you, and in return you had him sit down by one of the trees. Towel in hand dipped in the bucket of warm water, slowly gliding it over his obviously bruised up and dirty face. Gently cleaning it for him.

Soft mumbling were heard from the male. "You're so perfect- please, please, please marry me! I'll be a good husband, i swear! I'll take care of you! Just accept my marriage proposal.." and in response, well, you only continued taking care of him with a smile. Holding his head in place as you wipe away the dirt and tears, careful not to hurt him further. "I'll think about it.."

Ever since then? He's been trying his hardest, day and night pushing his limits until he eventually tires out and lets out his emotions. Even as you sleep you could distantly hear the door creaking open to see a Zenitsu slowly stepping his way out, most likely to train again before he gets too tired and decides to call it a day. It makes you feel nice, knowing that a few things you've said to encourage him actually got him to do his best.

And gramps realizes this. It's no brainer to know that you two are in love, and despite his best efforts to separate you two, it's quite obvious that it must be fate. Alas, he steps aside, giving you two more time to bond over things, and hopefully bloom into something more. Especially with the way the final selections are nearing.

"Everything that you've trained will help you survive, keep an eye out. We'll be praying for you." The elder's voice rung out as he watches over Zenitsu, who's been shakily preparing for his trip. Blade by his side and his palms clapped together in a prayer, wishing on anything and everything to be by his side, to guarantee him safety, to help him stay alive. His current state is.. not optimal, to say the least. But that's nothing surprising when compared to how he usually is, and you couldn't help but feel bad for him.

A comforting hand reached over to the blonde's arm, which only made him jump in response, before immediately relaxing once he realizes it's you. "Calm down, Zenitsu." You told him, in the softest voice you could muster. Soon you gave him a simple little lunch pack, which is basically 3 onigiris wrapped with a clean fabric. You'd give more but.. it'll probably be harder to bring around as he slays demons. "Sorry it isn't much.. and please, stay safe."

His eyes softened as he observes you, the way you move, act. You were worried, your heartbeat tells him that you pray for his safety, and he can't help but feel the need to live and go back to your arms even more. "I'll.. try my best, (Y/n). I promise you that."

The rest of the day was filled with gramps giving him small advices on how to deal with different types of demons, which only scared him further. But even then, he forced his feet to walk to where he should go, despite them feeling like they're shackled to buildings with how heavy they are. An urge came over you, and for some reason you found yourself running just a bit towards him before screaming your lungs out. Did you forget he has heightened hearing?

"KILL A LOT OF DEMONS, OKAY? MAYBE TEN, TWELVE, FIFTEEN, OR MORE! AND- AND AFTER THAT, I PROMISE TO MARRY YOU ONCE YOU'RE BACK!" It's unnecessary if you're being honest, even gramps was taken aback, yet you couldn't care less. You'd marry him either way, but you need to do anything you can in order to push him more so he can come back alive into your embrace. "SO PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BE SAFE! PLEASE SURVIVE!"

Without even realizing, a tear had ran down his cheek. That was the confirmation he always wanted, the thing he always wished for. He wanted to ran after you, but his legs froze, and he knew he couldn't waste time. And so Zenitsu only waved back, as high as much as possible, before wiping his tears away with each step he went forward. "You heard her... Survive, i need to survive." If he was driven to come back before, he's sure as hell not letting ANYTHING get in his way of staying alive now.

“Looking good as always, Miss Shinobu!” you called as you passed the woman in the hallway.

“Heyy…getting stronger, huh?” you ask as Inosuke collapses after setting a new personal record for how many times he can lift the boulders.

“Yeah…” he coughs, grinning behind his boar mask.

Zenitsu hears all of it.

He gets so nervous when he sees you walking his way. Tries to think of what to say. But by the time he thinks of something, you’re already gone. Speeding up your pace to hurry out of the room, your heart beating much faster.

Is it because you don’t like him?

To be fair, he probably comes off as annoying, right? Always screaming and crying. Complaining and nagging. Who likes that?

The truth is that your heart is racing so quickly because you like him so much!

But today is gonna be different. You’re gonna talk to him!

Taking a deep breath, gathering your courage, you see that blond head making his way to the kitchen. He has a habit of stealing snacks.

“Nice to see you again, Zenitsu!” you greet, slapping a hand on his back. He cries out from shock, being too absorbed in not getting caught by Aoi to realize it was you who was approaching him.

“Y/N!” he shrieks, “I-! Is it?! Nice?! I mean-! Is it really nice to see me again?”

“Of course it is!” you beam, feeling your skin getting clammy from the closeness.

Why is your heart beating so fast? Are you lying? he wonders.

“W-well, anyways…uh…bye!” - and with that, you race off. You’re eager to hide your burning face.

Later that day, you confide in Tanjiro on how it went. He listens patiently, patting your back as you groan about how foolish you probably looked and sounded to Zenitsu.

“I think you did well!” he encourages.

That night, it’s now Zenitsu’s turn to confide in Tanjiro. Telling him that he thinks you must hate him since you practically never speak to him, and that you always run away once you do.

“You’re dumb, Monitsu,” Inosuke grunts, “Something-N does like you. That’s why Something-N runs away.”

Zenitsu has a dumbfounded look on his face, trying to comprehend what he just heard.

Tanjiro sighs, “It’s true, Zenitsu. Y/n is quite fond of you. They don’t hate you. They’re just nervous.”

“Then I’ll be the brave one!” Zenitsu proclaims, standing onto his bed, a hand on his chest, “Tomorrow, I’m walking up to Y/n and asking them to marry me!”

“W-wait, Zenitsu! Baby steps!” Tanjiro warned. But that determination refused to waver.

That is, until he approached you. All he could choke out was a “Hey…Y/n…um…How about we go…somewhere?”

“S-sure!” you giggle nervously, taking his hand, “Where do you wanna go?”

“Um…! I don’t know!” Zenitsu confesses, “Let’s figure it out together!”

He couldn't really sleep, for whatever reason.

And he wanted to do something to actually help him sleep instead of just laying down and tossing around.

He DID thought of waking you up but-

ESPECIALLY AT 3AM?? Nah, my man's a gentleman he's not gonna do that.

So instead he decided to just go watch a movie on his phone, next to you, with no earphones in.

The opening loud ass music startled both you- and him. In which he didn't know that his volume was full.

He apologize profusely when you woke up, realizing that he's not asleep yet.

"(Y/N)-! I'm so sorry- i didn't know that it was going to be this loud! Please, go back to sleep."

He'll explain that he couldn't sleep and is trying to make himself fall asleep with a movie, or at least to tire him out, while also constantly trying to get you back to dreamland. Purely because he'll feel bad if you had to wake up because of him.

Well sucks for him because that's exactly what you're going to do.

You slowly sit up, telling him that you also want to watch the movie with him.

After a few back and forth of trying to tell him that, yes it is okay for you to stay awake for him, he'll let you.

But what's movie night without popcorn and soda, right?

You'll ask him to accompany you to the kitchen because it's 3AM and for some reason he chose to watch a horror movie, just to get a few snacks and drinks.

Putting on music while waiting for the microwave to finish cooking up your popcorn, all the while talking about what you just dreamed about. Or what to do when the sun comes up.

And when you're done, you'll go back to your room with him. Turning on the movie on the TV instead as you two cuddled close, leaning against eachother and hands perhaps touching once or twice when you two tried to reach the popcorn bowl in unison.

If you're scared of jumpscares, he'll purposely pull you closer, as if to shield you. If not, you two would just talk about what you would've done in the movie's situation.

If you can't stand horror, he'll change the movie. What do you want to watch? Action? Thriller? Fantasy? Anime? The same movie or series you've been rewatching 34 times? He'll happily put it on.

And when morning comes? He'll be the one yawning, since he didn't actually get any sleep. He'll try to stay awake, but fall asleep on your shoulder instead. And you can't help but admire his peacefulness as you slowly put his head on a pillow, cleaning the room of all the empty bottles, wrappings, and bowls.

But if you prefer to just stay and sleep in his arms, that's fine too! He'll hold you close, and snuggle closer.

Eitherway it ends up with him kissing you on your forehead as soon as he wakes up, so i say this is a win.

I feel like he's the type of person that'll say something like 'one more video' when on YouTube and then stay up till morning. LMAO.

He'll be watching random cat videos, or like those "which one is actually cake?!" videos and would try to guess along but guesses wrong on almost each one.

How he went from analog horror to gameplays to asmr to cosplays to "how to survive" to cake videos? No one knows.

All he knew was this is entertaining and he keeps trying to stop but fails miserably thanks to YouTube's goddamn recommendation page.

But then of course, right as the clock strikes 3AM, he just had to see that one video.

"Hyper-Realistic Shoe Cake Tutorial!"

He needs to make it, okay? For scientific purposes.

But he still wants to stay beside you.. and he's not that good at baking as he is cooking-

And all that leads to this one moment.

"Wha- Zenitsu..? It's 3 AM.. what is it?"

You spent the rest few hours getting confused because like- you don't have a few of the CRUCIAL ingredients in order to make it look realistic. So you kinda just made your own version of it based on the limited baking knowledge you know, trying to get it as close as the tutorial as possible.

The process was.. cute, to say the least. There was a time where the flour accidentally spilled out, which resulted in you becoming a sneezing mess due to the powdery bits in the air.

Zenitsu insisting he'll clean for you, and you telling him to not bother.

Not to mention when he tried to split the egg white from the yolk, failed miserably.

You two purposely putting on socks so you can slide across the kitchen floor thanks to the flour that fell, while waiting for the cake to be done baking.

Him accidentally messing up his own cake by cutting certain parts too small or thin, and you boasting about how good yours turned out.

Putting on sappy love songs as the sun rises, taking photos of the cake while trying to hide the mess you two made in the kitchen, and uploading it online.

His smile was arguably brighter than the shade of his hair, even the rising dawn couldn't match Zenitsu's grin as he looks at the results.

Not to mention the cleaning montage of you two trying to fix the kitchen after the absolute mess.

Of course, you'll be spending the rest of the day napping in his arms till evening, but you've been productive enough to make up for it, right?

He will wake you up, unapologetically.

You'll be dreaming of your perfect life, feeling all nice and cozy as the night changes.

And then he'll just scream next to your ear.

You almost had a heart attack with how he woke you up, looking up to see a pair of emerald eyes staring down at you.

"WHAT? WHAT IS IT?"

"I'M HUNGRY!"

An exaggerated sigh left your lips, and you almost told him to go make food himself.

But then you remember that time he almost burned down the house, so.

With no other choice, you got up, an excited Inosuke running out to go sit on the couch.

But you're not gonna cook anything, not when it's 3AM, so guess who's getting a McDonald's delivery soon?

And while waiting, you two decided to play a few rounds of video games. Making him promise that this'll go on until the food arrived and then he'll go back to sleep.

Spoiler. That didn't happen.

You two had too much fun roasting eachother at how bad you guys are at games, and Inosuke is particularly funny when raging while playing Fall Guys.

He also scared you on purpose a few times when you were taking turns playing Phasmophobia, laughing hysterically everytime you screamed in fear.

Or even something like FNAF, or games like Valorant, Overwatch or even Call of Duty. He loves competitive games so.

Seeing him happily jump whenever he wins something warms your heart, and though he wouldn't admit it, but the way he also jumps in victory whenever you kill someone in game is enough proof for you to know that he feels the same.

And when someone makes fun of you for sucking at the game?? He'll honestly would just ask you for the controller, ready to destroy the mf as he suddenly dominates the whole round. Before giving it back to you when he feels satisfied.

He'd randomly open his mouth while playing, asking to be fed a french fry as he focuses on the game. You being as invested as he is, just does it because you kinda also want him to win-

Also the way he'll put his arm around your shoulders, guiding you on what to do to win, well more like screaming at you- but only because he's too excited and loud for his own good. He loves you though, which is why he wants people to know that his (s/o) doesn't suck 💪🏻.

And when morning comes? That's when it hit you that gODDAMMIT YOU DIDN'T GET TO SLEEP.

But you know, maybe it's fine, you two did have an awesome night?

ZENITSU AGATSUMA is as usual by the bed where him and both Inosuke and Tanjiro currently takes rests in, within the Butterfly Mansion ran by the Insect Hashira, Kocho Shinobu. It was, a normal day, to an extent. They don't have any missions at this particular moment, so Tanjiro had been looking after Nezuko and talking with Shinobu, while Inosuke is probably off training somewhere after Aoi gave him his plate of food, the amount only Inosuke could stomach.

Being a demon slayer yourself, you roam the halls of the mansion, occasionally seeing the three little helpers going back and forth in order to provide each patients with what they need. Aoi even asked if there's anything she can help with, in which you decline, because the reason you're here is to simply meet a certain blonde.

Though, Chuntaro is also due a bit of credit, since he's the one who fetched you to go see Zenitsu. Chirping on about how he hasn't been himself lately, or how he hasn't been screaming or whining as much, even as the little bird constantly tries to bother him. It worries the small creature, which got it to go ask you for help. And frankly, that worries you too.

You favor Zenitsu, that's something everyone knows, apparently except the blonde himself. Everytime he hears the way your heart speeds up when talking to him, he only assumed that it's because of how fast you've been running, or because you're nervous to go on a mission. Never did he thought he was the cause, even though his amazing hearing proved otherwise. And frankly, you're also a bit tired with his oblivious self, and decided to maybe.. kill two birds with one stone?

"(Y-y/n)! Why are you here? A-ARE YOU HURT? DID SOMETHING HAPPENED WHILE YOU WERE OUT?" He panicked, knowing that the place they currently practically live in is also somewhat of a hospital for Demon Slayers, if you're injured, you go to the Butterfly Mansion. It's that simple. So he may or may not have assumed the worst, even as you try to calm him down.

"No, no, no! I'm just here to check on you," The smile on your face was enough to light up Zenitsu's whole mood, as you straighten out and move away strands of his bright yellow hair, all so he could see you clearly. "Ah, alright... Wait- to see me?" The disbelief was evident, and you had to nod in order to convince him that he wasn't just hearing things. "EH? B-BUT- WHY WOULD YOU WANNA SEE ME? Did i do something wrong-? Are you angry?"

He was frantic, and it's not until Chuntaro bit his arm that his worry turned into whines of pain, as he desperately tries to make the small bird let go. "I'm not angry, in fact, i wanted to sing you this song i made! Well, for you. But please excuse me if my voice sounds bad.." You muttered, while Zenitsu had forgotten all about Chuntaro's antics. After all, he's always ready to listen to you, and when you told him that you've wrote him a song? This man's face is tomato red. He's falling from cloud nine all the way to you, little did he know that you feel the same way.

"You wrote a song? FOR ME?! I don't.. but why?" He asked, though immediately fixing himself. "NOT THAT I DON'T LIKE IT. Well, i haven't heard it- but I'm 100% sure I'd love it! Uhm, please, I'd like to hear it." The willpower he had to muster is beyond his capacity, all because he needs to not freak out. "Well, it's a bit sappy but- alright, uhm, here goes."

"WH-" his scream was stopped with Chuntaro's wing practically covering his mouth, telling him to quiet down and listen. Your heart is beating as if it's running a marathon, the small breaths you take to not get nervous, these small things. It tells him that this isn't a prank, it's not something that Inosuke had set up. This is genuine, and Zenitsu almost refused to believe it. This has to be one of his weird dreams, right?

His usual jumpy demeanor almost seemed to have disappeared, but it's more like he doesn't want to interrupt your beautiful voice. He's panicking. Internally. But he'll rather die than to suddenly have you stop singing.

Your eyes are somewhere else, somewhere far away from his. And yet, you can feel his gaze your way, focusing on each lyric you have sung, brain racking to know what they mean. To him, this is too good to be true. At least for someone who gets smacked around by girls on the daily.

Moonlight.

Zenitsu himself hasn't realized how quiet he's been, it's not until he felt the small weight of Chuntaro on top of his head that he snapped out of the trance your voice and song had put him. But only for a mere few seconds, then you took his breath away again.

You shook your head, and immediately you feel two arms embracing you in a hug. He darted towards your frame so fast that even Chuntaro almost fell, while you did backwards towards the bed.

Soft sobbing was heard from him, as you held onto him tight in response. He seems to be mumbling something along the lines of "i love you too"s or "I'm so happy", and more. They were quiet though, and you're not sure if it's because he's scared that Aoi would hit him over the head if he's being loud, or if he's too fumbled up to be caring about how loud he is.

But for now, let him pour all that emotion, alright?

You're good at sewing things together, or even making something from scratch, and even if it's not sewing – you're just happy to be able to spend time with Senjuro creating the weirdest of things.

Of course, you and Kyojuro does this too. Whenever he has time.

You'd make him all kinds of Haori, most having that flame pattern to go with his title as the Flame Hashira, and you best believe he has worn each one at least three times to a mission.

He'd brag about it too! Anywhere, anytime, if given the chance.

His Haori got ripped thanks to a demon? "Ha! It'd be a shame for me to return in such a state, though I'm sure (Y/n) would simply fix it with their extraordinary skills, i still cannot forgive you for ruining their hardwork!"

You made a new one for him to wear? "Why of course! (Y/n) made it for me you see? They are nothing but talented, being able to create such an amazing— what do you mean you already know what I'm gonna say?"

And not even just his Haori, you made a thing for his katana? He'll never put it off. Something you made for his uniform? Front and center on his chest, wearing it like a proud badge.

If something you made fell apart? Lost? He'd approach you, slowly, before asking if there's anything you'd like to do - like a picnic, a walk, anything, so he can soothe your mind (well, more like his) before telling you. That smile never leaving his face.

Or option two, wait until Senjuro's the one who tells you.

Also! You better believe he'll buy you stuff for your hobbies when he's out on missions, if he sees a roll of fabric with cute motives, he'll buy the whole thing and rush home as a gift for being away.

Or even cute trinkets he thinks you can sew on things. Anything he thinks you'll like, he'll get it.

Unlike being with Kyojuro, most of the time you can't even do the things you want to do peacefully because he'll butt in with his smirk like- "Oh my, is that for me? That's definitely for me. I mean, look at how flashy it is!"

IMMEDIATELY WEARS THE THING YOU MADE, no question asked.

He'll watch you intently, it can be a bit annoying when he asks numerous questions about what is what, where goes where, and then boasting about how he could probably do it if you teach him.

But there's also moments where it's soft, and nice. He's sitting next to you, watching you focus as your hands worked its way with a needle, careful not to make mistakes.

The look on your face was enough to get him to smile, and of course lifting you up from the ground and spinning you around whenever you give him something new. Whether it's something he wants or something you made as a surprise.

Save Sanemi. He's so tired of Tengen's loud ass bragging about "MY (S/O) MADE THIS AND ALL OF YOU NEEDS TO SEE."

But he's just really proud, he'll wear anything happily, even if it's plain. That's how much he loves you. And he will spoil you with the things you need to continue your hobbies.

Who knows, you might even get yourself a new pair of kimono on your birthday. Really roughly made, but you can tell he tried especially with the amount of badazzle on it. One might even say it's quite flashy.
