I– um, yeah, you, you’re picked. It was kind of a free-for-all. All are welcome, so long as you’re not…well..mean. What’s a sherpa? I sort of like all of them in general but for games, I get particular. For MMOs, I like PC because you can um..have macros. They’re..keybinds, essentially. During really intense raids, macros can help with rotations and such. And..you? 

I’m not mean. Or at least, I don’t try to be. Sometimes it happens accidentally, like when I let my mouth get ahead of my brain, but I don’t mean to and you just have to tell me if I do, okay? But I don’t think it serves any purpose to be mean since people are way cooler if you’re just nice to them first. A sherpa’s like... raid dad. Or mom I guess. The person who knows the mechanics and helps direct people, leads in callouts and stuff like that. I do that for a couple games I know extra well, like Destiny or ESO. I don’t know FFXIV much, but give me like... three days with the wiki, and I can figure it out! I’m a PC person, but I have my consoles too. It’s like you said. I like the flexibility a PC lets me have, with macros and modding and just general QoL stuff too.

Austen let out a weak smile as Maya seemed to take the bait. Spitting issue? She tried to wrack her brain, but in every honesty, all the classes tended to blur together when the school didn’t necessarily take into account the fact that she hadn’t been to school consistently... ever. Most times, she ended up doodling over her notes, and somehow managing to scrape by with passing grades. At least, it seemed enough to keep people off her back. But when Maya turned the conversation back to winter break and the conversation she’d had with Eliana about it, Austen tensed again. Was this a trick? Trying to get her to lie so she could laugh at her later? “Um.. it was fine I guess. Nothing different than normal.” Technically that wasn’t a lie. Her Christmas dinners usually did come from dumpsters. “Do you not have family close to your age?”

Please, my life is a steady uphill climb. And the number of absolutely ridiculous try-outs I’ve seen this week would suggest otherwise. It’s not about being fat, it’s about skill, coordination and realism when it comes to your potential spot on the team.

Seems like it’s going on a pretty straight shot for the ground. Are you really being elitist over a cheerleading squad of a secret mutant academy? Who even comes to the games? How do you not see the absolute irony in all of this?
