It happens in Dungeon Meshi, actually.
I've seen "elves bemoan the shortness of human lives because the person they love will die too soon".
I've seen "elves celebrate the shortness of human lives because it leaves humans full of vitality and the desire to live life to the fullest".
I haven't yet seen "human realizing their elf lover is actually a creep who loves the shortness of human lives because we "don't grow up FOR REAL" and oh no they're way too into the fact that I'm 23."
#one of the elves are in jail partially because of trafficking#and she also happened to date short-lived races and dumped them once they turned 25#dungeon meshi#it's a very good read#highly recommend

can i hear about the utah mormon stuff? im morbidly fascinated.
Sure! I love to chatter!
Absurdly high sexual abuse (specifically CSA) rates, corresponding with influence from the mormon church (specifically in relation to sex education!), corresponding with absurdly high STI/D rates (specifically in areas where the mormon church has heavy influence in sex education), which is also connected to the CSA reports involving "private meetings" in mormon churches between church leaders and children.
There are numerous anti-porn organizations (including those with "sex therapists" to help "cure" people of their interest in porn), many openly against sex education, based in Utah and involved (if not financed by) the mormon church as well.
That's not even going into the targeting of trans/gay kids, the absurdly high and skyrocketing LGBTQ+ suicides (or the involvement in conversion therapy) in the area. It's some fucked shit.

friendly reminder that nowadays, many social medias are designed to show you content you don't like/disagree with, to make you upset, and boost interactions
blocking is something you HAVE to learn on today's internet for your mental health to survive. it's the only tool you have to defend yourself when companies are literally putting money in to drag you under.

We have a parade every year thats on July 4th, but isn't a July 4th parade. Its a 'free speech' parade, where you're allowed to be as weird as you want (without breaking laws or hurting anyone.)
Theres usually a little pushback, but this year theres a bit more because its 'too leftist.'
'If you're anything but lefty, don't go- they don't welcome conservatives.'
And its like... you're actually allowed to go to it and even march in it, theres no sign up and you literally just show up with a sign. You may have to sit in discomfort knowing that you're outnumbered and people might boo you, but like... its their freedom of speech, too.
But like... if the freedom of speech parade leans left, then what does that tell you about freedom?

saying “you are a burden on society” is just such a weird framing of priorities It’s like saying “wow, think how much better gas mileage your car would get if you weren’t sitting in it” or “think how dry that umbrella would be if you weren’t holding it in between you and the rainstorm”. the things we create? they’re for us. they are meant to carry us. they are meant to protect us. we are meant to hold them up to keep us dry.

So my situation is that I can't seem to write without my antipsychotic and I am significantly less able to manage my emotional regulation without the ability to write
The mental health service is reluctant to put me back on my antipsychotic because they think my GP won't keep up the repeat prescription
My GP who referred me so I can go back on it if I want
Also even if they agree it would require me coming off amitriptyline which I take for my back pain. Which I already tried reducing and which made everything much worse
I went to emotional regulation group therapy which was good! I learned a lot of useful stuff which is helping me manage my dysregulation better then before I went and is keeping me from danger when I spiral. But I am still very dysregulated and it's getting worse
I just feel like if I can write again I'll do better but I can't fucking write
I have tried and there is a huge disconnect from the ideas and putting it on paper
I am scattered so often and I just feel stuck
I don't think more therapy is going to help. I need to write and I can't and I feel like I'm cracking in half

Ice cold takes from a Transgender Woman:
Not all Men are evil
Everyone has the capacity for evil
Transgender Men are men
Transgender Women are women
Excluding Cisgender Men from your spaces requires Transgender Men to out themselves if they want to engage (Same for Women)
Anyone can be Non-Binary, there is no "look" or requirement
Non-binary masculine presenting people should be welcome in queer spaces, many are just treated as men and predators
Non-binary feminine presenting people should be welcome in queer spaces without being seen as "Woman-Lite"

thinking about this post. i honestly feel like on all levels of human culture we need to get a little (or a lot) okay with things kind of sucking. like the notion that the worth of experience is entirely dependent on whether or not it is closer or farther from perfect needs to be thrown out. sometimes someone is mid and your local middle school's fall play is kinda lame and the drawing you made has a poor grasp of color theory. good. i desire life for what it is.

the space race may be the funniest point in history period and i'll stand by that. the US is like "yes whoever gets into space first will prove once and for all that our economic model is superior and that we are, in general, the superior country of superior and smarter people." then the soviets just went and did it and the US freaked out and needed to cover their ass so were like "WE MEAN THE MOON, WE MEAN THE FIRST TO LAND ON THE MOON."
