What’s up gamers?

So, I had a bunch of shit come up and then more shit come up so I fell behind on Inktober and now it’s over. But I’m trying to catch up now, even if it’s not exactly in the spirit of the “Whatever schedule stick to it” idea of the challenge. Since I’m breaking rules anyway, some of these will be mixed media as opposed to purely ink.

Currently, I’m at 24 but I have most of them penciled.

Anyway, for Rhinoceros I drew… a rhinoceros… poorly at that

Day 20: Uncharted

Alright, this needs an explanation, and it sucks… but I REFUSED to do Nathan Drake or any of that shit! FUCK THIS THEME!

So to explain what Black Rock is, it’s an unremarkable and uncharted “landmass” that Argentina fought Britain for alongside the Falklands. There’s at least a dozen islands named that and I don’t even think Black Rock, South Georgia is above the surface of the water, thus Uncharted.

I’m now also a day behind but the good news is, aside from “Jumbo” I shouldn’t run into any more where I don’t know what to do

Day 19: Ridge

So for this one I did General Matthew Ridgway. So I’ll explain who he is and then go into my piece a bit more, Reference Below

General Matthew Ridgway (1895-1993) was in the military since he was 22 in 1917, and this lasted until 1955, when he was 60. And he served from World War I until the Korean War, the latter being what he is most famous for.

His command and his leadership turned the tide of the war back into the UN’s favor, slowing the Chinese advances onto the South before counter offending, retaking Seoul, pushing north of the 38th, and then preventing a Chinese Counter-offense on Seoul.

On top of being the reason South Korea as we know it exists, he’s also the one who desegregated the military and delayed American Intervention in Vietnam.

He also gained the nickname “Iron Tits” after his propensity to keep two grenades stores near his chest

Now as for the piece itself, I’m a *little* disappointed, it’s kinda flat. But at a glance it looks fine enough and I’m glad I got more experience with Brush Tips.

That being said, doing this is starting to feel like a chore. I did a colored pencil drawing of a worm for my friend Emma and I remembered, “Oh yeah, I actually like drawing!”

Day 18: Drive

In terms of, “Fuck this stupid ass ‘Theme’ I’m breaking from it!” this is the most tangential… even more than when I did Toulouse Lautrec for Trek.

I used water-based-ink markers and a fine liner. It’s kinda simple but I can’t complain

Day 17: Journal, me and like every third artist probably had the same idea I bet. Anyway, as a fun bonus, I hid my signature in the journals!

Also, for all 0 of you who care about my private life, I’m now employed! Which means the time I have to do certain ones on certain days got more restricted :D… and yet I’m now actually doing a solid job keeping up…huh.

Day 16: Grungy

I can’t say I hate how I did this but I definitely want to revisit it when I’m not restricted to ink for a challenge.

There’s a Youtuber by the name of Scott Christian Sava who I believe also has a Tumblr. He does a bunch of celebrity portraits, usually with ink and watercolor (and sometimes colored pencils). A vastly more skilled artist in this regard but him and another artist by the name of Jazza were the two that got me really back into trying drawing again.

Day 15: Guidebook

While I liked the joke I had for this one, I don’t think I conveyed he was about to fall off a cliff well enough

Day 14: Roam.

In terms of ideas, this is my favorite thus far. The translation should be, “Welcome to Roam [sic]! All Roads lead to here! Population: 1 Million”

Day 11: Snacks

I was able to draw what I normally draw when I can’t think of anything to draw… a burger!

Kinda funny this one wound up being the one on Yom Kippur… also I only realized Yom Kippur was today…and I was supposed to start fasting 5 hours ago… FUCK!

Drew a turtle… kinda fit Hike more now that I think about it… ah well!

So, Milton changed my original plan to this. Maybe it’s a bit too text heavy but for something fast, it was fun.

These should be the last of the days where I’m absolutely like, “The fuck do I do for this one? “

These were just some quick doodles I did with a pilot.

8 was based on me going outside during Hurricane Ian, I was on the East Coast of Florida when Ian hit so it wasn’t going out in a Cat 4 stupid but was still dumb.
