Cowboy AU sandypop part 2
He found her again by the lake, washing clothes. She was wearing a light shift, her sleeves rolled up for her manual labor and her skirt draped on her laps while she was kneeling down. Despite having been careful, she was still soaked with water and soap.
"D'you hear about the new guy?" He asked her and she jumped. She covered herself up, she wasn't appropriately dressed to be seen by a man. He laughed at her.
"Dallas, wasn't that his name?" Soda nodded.
"He's staying in the Cade's cabin while they're out. He's gotten a liking to our Johnny I reckon."
"Well you reckon too much." She huffed and went back to work as he kneeled down next to her to help. "I don't need your help."
"It'll be faster like that."
She didn't argue back, but she fought him a little before handing him the soap. She was washing all her family's clothes: her parents and her little brothers. She was a woman and the eldest so she was tasked with doing chores like that and helping her brothers with school and things her parents didn't have time for. Her mother wasn't around much, she was always out at the saloon doing Lord knows what and coming home, complaining about how dirty the place was. Sandy was sick of it, but she couldn't leave. A girl like her out on the streets is just begging to end up an entertainer, and not the kind that sings or juggles, dancers and worse even. She was too pretty, Soda had spent days before trying to find the perfect word to capture her beauty but he couldn't find it. She was blonde like straw and her skin was sun kissed and freckled. Her eyes were a rich green with an almost yellow center that shone beautifully when she cried. Her lips were pink like a peach and were just a soft and tasted just as good. Soda thought, as he looked at the sweat drip down her neck and onto her back, the straps of her shift falling down her shoulders, that her body was just as beautiful. She wasn't thin or fat, she fit perfectly in his arms when he hugged her or wrapped his hands around her waist. He was about to think about her breasts when he was hit by a damp cloth.
"You going to help or not?"
"I thought you didn't want me to help." His lips tugged on one corner, his smirk irritating her further.
"No, because you're always so darn slow."
"It's not that I'm slow, it's that you haven't been cleaning it right."
"I haven't been cleaning it right?" She gasped, offended. In retaliation, she splashed some water in his face.
"No!" He covered his face so he wouldn't get any in his eyes, and she kept on splashing. After a few seconds, he got sick of it and splashed her back, that's when she pushed him in the lake. He fell on his backside, barely hurting himself at all but he was quick to get back up, drenched from his brown-blonde hair now glued to his forehead to his boot-free feet now buried in the sand. His face was dark as she exploded in laughter. He picked her up in his arms and she let out choked out high pitched screams, fighting for her freedom. He walked further into the lake, somewhere relatively deep and he threwher in the water, despite her protests and threats not to.

Yes. Yes I take pleasure in being one of the only person who ships Sandypop. Not because it's a rareship, but bc it means they have even LESS happy endings than let's say stevepop.
#still thinking about the orpheus eurydice parallel#but like they can't have that happy ending where they meet again in the afterlife#sandypop

I apologize yet AGAIN for my inactivity both here and on my ask blogs, @ask-sandy-the-outsiders and @ask-camp-mayonnaise because for those who don't know, I work in a summer camp and this summer hasn't been really easy. Like, thinking about quitting camp and scouts altogether. I am beyond exhausted but I keep going and if I come back I'll be certain of my role and my devotion. In the meantime, I love you guys and I'll be WAY more active in the fall and winter. Love y'all ❤️

Get ready for week 7! Only two more to go before the summer's over!
Paul Newman (Pony's) gonna be taking over the account!
A little breakdown of week 6: a lot of the monitors got sick or were on leave so we had people come help out, notably Football (Paul), Rocket (Sylvia) and Sunset (Cherry)! Also, there was a problem with so the toilets and the water was shut down for a while.
Superman (Darry's) on vacay, so let's try not to burn everything down!

It's your artstyle then??? He isn't model-like but he isn't ugly
Dally & Mark, worst half brothers ever
was describing their looks and similarities/differences in a fic, and then I was like ok I gotta just draw em my life will be so much easier lol

For context, the point of the AU is that Mark and Dallas are half brothers. It’s an everyone-lives-except-Bob thing, so Dally and Johnny are alive, and it starts at the end of TWTTIN, or like a year or so post-Outsiders. Mark runs away after Bryon sells him out and moves into Buck’s with Dally.
more thoughts abt this stupid AU are here

(The Outsiders wild west au Johnny meets Dally)
"Come on out, I ain't scared!" The boy was holding a rusted out revolver in his trembling hands, his index squarely on the trigger.
He had heard rustling and noises coming from the stable and he decided to check what was going on.
A can fell down and he pointed his gun towards the sudden movement but thats when someone came up from behind and tackled him to the ground.
"Now," the stranger spoke in a low, scarily calm voice, "you let go of your gun or else you get it."
Johnny struggled against his captor, trying to set free.
"I said drop it!" The man barked out, making Johnny freeze. The revolver fell put of his shakey hands.
"I ain't trying to start nothing here, I just want a place for the night. I'll be gone by dusk." The man kept explaining slowly, picking up Johnny's revolver and slowly letting go of him until he was fully standing up, the boy still laying down on the ground.
It took Johnny a long while before even getting up on his elbows. He took a look at the stranger in the stable and it was a young man who was dressed like him and looked like him: dirt. He had scars on his face, his curly hair cut short and blood stains on his clothes. The man smelt of gunpowder, sweat and terror.
"Who are you?" He managed to ask the man.
"Just a traveller needing a place to stay."
Johnny nodded, deciding that was all he needed to hear.

Can I just say that I love your interpretation of Sandypop? They (including their kids that you made them) are so adorable! :)
Awww, thanks! It makes me so glad to see people are interested in them just as much as I am.
Really, Sandy is my love and I will do anything to make her happy.
(the kids are slightly inspired by me and my siblings)

A kid complained about his stomach hurting (okay??? I can't do anything about that) so I asked him what he ate and he told me he ate cheese for snack and had cheese this morning. The same kid who told me two weeks ago hr was lactose intolerant. Like baby, that might be why your stomach hurts.
But fr he felt bad the entire day and even threw up right as his mom was coming to pick him up so i think it was more than that

(Cowboy AU Sandypop)
"When's your family moving?"
"My mama said by the end of the month." She said, smoothing over the folds of her dress. It was a light yellow, just like the morning light, but the hems were stained with dirt. It was her favorite dress and it showed on the buttons worn out with use and loved back with stitches. On the hip was a clumsy stitch from when she taught Soda how to sew after he accidentally ripped it. She was wearing a short hat straw colored hat with a wide enough brim to cast shadows on her face, the ribbon a nice rich orange. Her hair was tied at her nape into a bun and strands were peaking out from behind her ears. The boy leaning over the fence was chewing on some long grass, he thought it made him look cool. His hands were dirty with the same dirt on her dress's hem and the wind blowing through his shirt. He forgot his hat somewhere, he always did, so he had to shield his eyes withhis hands. His pride and joy were his boots however, they has cost him a fortune. They were a little big but he had hoped he'd grow into them, even if he was 16 already. They were ornate with flowers and flowy swooshy designs that made him think of clouds and the wind blowing. Sometimes, when you looked up at the sky, the clouds would look sharp enough to cut the mountains. He would've gone there, exploring what was once hidden.
"It's way too soon. You can't leave, what am I gonna do without you?"
"You're gonna live, Sodapop. You're good at that."
"But I won't feel alive if I'm not with you."
"What choice do I have? I can't stay here, I have nowhere else to go."
"You could stay with me." His eyes grew ten times, leaning so far over the fence he was practically on the other side. The long grass had fallen from his mouth. "We have space at the ranch, you could have your own room if you wanted to!"
"We ain't married."
"We could be."
"You ain't proposing to me like that, cowboy. I will need a ring and a roof without your brothers under."
He rubbed his neck.
"You're running a hard bargain here."
"I'm a woman who knows what she wants."
His face grew sad for a moment as he looked at the sun setting under the trees.
"It sounds to me like you don't want me."
"I just don't like running carefree. I need stability, Soda. You're like a camp fire while I need a fire place."
"But you're saying I'm fun." His smile grew back, shining like a gemstone.
"That's why it's so hard to leave you."
"Sandy..."
"What?"
"Please don't leave."
"I told ya, I don't have a choice."
He looked down, knowing he wouldn't have a chance to meet her eyes. Her mind was set, and there was nothing more he could do.
"Can you at least give me a kiss before I get back?"
Her eyes crinkled.
"Of course."

HOW TF HAVEN'T I MADE A PROPER COWBOY AU YET????
I'm OBSESSED with cowboys.
Darry, Soda and Pony would be working on a ranch after their parents death, y'know just trying to make things work.
Dally's an outlaw running from town to town trying to escape the sheriff (The Cop) when he finds Johnny and decide to teach him everything he knows so that his legacy carries on.
Bob would be a rich merchant's son who gets killed in a duel between Johnny and him (maybe on accident, maybe not. Complicated story)
Steve's just dreaming about better days to come, he keeps talking with Soda about plans to marry Evie and move out of here.
Two bit is Two bit.
And Sandy has to move away at some point.
