I’ve given it a lot of thought and I guess it’s my time to say goodbye. There’s been a lot going on with me irl and those who are close with me know a bit more about it. I’ve had scares with my family as they’ve been in and out of the hospital, I’ve not been doing much better myself and due to an encounter I feel I didn’t deserve here a long time ago I haven’t felt right taking a single hiatus since. I’ve felt judged and stressed among other things and I tried to move past it by just enjoying my characters, but even that has become hard due to people saying ‘your post is next’ for months and I never see it. Which is fine, I generally don’t care when people get back to me, but don’t keep saying it as it really starts to hurt feelings and makes you wonder if people actually like the stuff they’re writing with you. And no, I didn’t ask when my post was due, either.
There’s something else I learned about too and while I can’t make a comment on it it hasn’t set well with me since. It’s not a little thing either as I don’t condone anyone making fun of other people while being nice to their face.
So take care and it has been fun with the people I know enjoyed rping with me. I’d like to say thank you to them and also sorry that I couldn’t stick it out a little longer.

It feels strange to be back here, to be drawn back to Mossdeep; home and yet there’s hardly anything about it that reminds him of the very word. He sits solemnly by his window and for the first time in a long while he sits still, watches the moon and stars filter in and out from the wispy outlines of passing clouds. He realizes then and there that he feels lonely and on top of all that has recently transpired between his father, the company, and his own friends (could he even truly call them that? Cynthia’s words stung so.) he finally looks to be breaking down from it all. Stress lines his brow despite him trying to still hide it in private and tension settles in his entire frame.
He can even say he looks far more worn than usual, the wear showing in the faint reflection he catches in the window he’s looking out of. He draws his hand up to his face, presses fingertips up over his mouth and tries not to focus on it. He hates seeing himself this way and yet all he can currently do is look up at the stars.
Yet he can’t do it for long. He pushes away from the seal and finds himself leaving his house in favor of wandering the beaches the city has to offer. It’s there where he finds a place to settle near the shoreline and once again he finds himself looking up at the sky once again. He isn’t quite sure what he’s looking for, why he’s always been so drawn to them and yet he doesn’t get too long to think on the matter. Something glitters in the sky, something burns and darts across it and he only has time to blink and register it as an object before it crashes down not far from him.
His eyes draw wide with wonder, his current plights forgotten and instead there is a wonder that replaces it. He stumbles forth through the sand, further up the shore and finds himself looking down into a small indention into the earth where he knows something alien and foreign rests.

scrubs-and-cigs:
It paid to have contacts. After the time Petrel had spent in Hoenn talking, gathering intel, making connections with local, er, “recovering” villains, he’d come across the information of a lifetime: Infinity Energy. A plant—a town?—sunken into the sea, so cliché but a veritable treasure trove of power that Petrel could sink his talons into, could use to haul Rocket up from the depths of their destruction.
He had to borrow equipment, because it seemed the only way in was through watery passageways; it had been a long time since he’d gone scuba-diving, but he had some fun with it, enjoying the scenery on the way down and the ease it put on his joints. Considering half the place had been underwater for some time now, there shouldn’t have been anyone here—so why was someone hauling themselves up out of the ocean right now?

There’s no way he can keep anyone out of Sea Mauville yet his stance is drawn with caution as he watches the other. Why is he here? Could he possibly know? Questions like these drift easily through his mind yet on the outside he appears calm and collected about it all. He never looks away though and smiles at his comment; it’s polite, almost curt. He doesn’t seem to know who he is. So he’s a foreigner. Perhaps that’s for the best?
“Exploring ruins is what I do best. This facility currently holds a lot of interest with me. You see....” he trails, curling fingers beneath his chin before all seriousness fades away. Maybe he can get just what this guy is looking for out in the air by sounding just as much of a hopeless and naive child as some people make him out to be. “I’m looking for something to impress my girlfriend! She really has been having a hard time lately so I wanted to find her something nice. This seems like the perfect place. No one comes here and she just loves sunken treasure. I have to find her something impressive as she’s absolutely obsessed with items involving legendary Pokemon.” He laughs, rubbing at the back of his head while hoping Petrel completely buys the story.
He should. The only ‘girlfriend’ he knows obsessed with legends around Hoenn is Melanie. She’ll kill me if she knows I’m talking about her like this.
His worry is short lived, for he pauses and looks Petrel square in the face. “I know! You could help me find something for her and I can help you find what you’re looking for. It’ll make things easier!”

Hi Steven, are you angry with me? - C x
Was he angry with her? Why yes he was. He exhales as he looks over the message and before he can even think to muster his thoughts into words another matter entirely comes to his attention. He doesn’t get back to her and by the time he’s free again he’s pushed how he feels about her to the backs of his mind.
#(( Tumblr didn't tell me I had a message#gone are the days where that's a thing. :c#ty for sending I'm sorry he's angry! ))#sinnohchampioncynthia

[Recieved 00:39am] okok guess where i am ;) xx [attached is a rather cryptic image of Barry on a rug, pure motion blur. It's unrecogisable... Except for the location tag Cynthia forgot to turn off... Which is very noticable indeed]
He stares at the text for a moment, brow soon furrowing as he catches the location on the picture. Suddenly it all made sense and all he can do is calmly curl his fingers over his mouth. He’s disappointed in her. Very disappointed in her. If only she had just asked him.
[Cyn:] How nice of you to break into my estate without asking me, Cyn. Enjoy your party. Goodnight.

Struggle | Open
Ocean water laps with impatience and disruption as the man pulls himself from its depth; hauls himself up out of a pool surrounded by the crumbling and sunken frame of Sea Mauville. Exploration of the other wing keeps him from being found easily for time slips away like the very water slipping down his frame in rivulets to stain slanted and broken tiles. Those tiles creek under an ever-shifting weight as the heir of Devon maintains balance and carefully procures his PokéNav from the confines of the diving suit he wears.
Time flashes in digital scrawl along a holographic surface and he instantly knows he’s keeping someone waiting… him. An accident, yet breath leaves him all the same as he removes the Devon scuba gear secured around his face and begins his search. He holds reasons of his own to speak to Doc today, to hear him out; perhaps to even get down to the bottom of certain matters.
As certain as those matters may be, unease settles within the back of his mind. He actively seeks knowledge, craves it more than anything else, but on this subject he always hesitates, draws short on suspicion and averts it with trust. A mistake, a flaw– he can’t run from it forever much like Doc can’t go without explaining to him what’s going on. There’s a desire to keep moving forward, though while one was ready the other was not. A weakness, a stone set firmly– still and unyielding despite each relentless push to take the first step, to make a necessary choice all on his own.
He doesn’t like what he’s already uncovered here in the past few weeks and wonders what the man will have to say for himself. Wattson is already disturbed by the discovery of Infinity Energy and his mistrust with Devon is deep seated enough to keep him from talking to the man. He realizes all too clearly that his own name is used against him as he tries to decide what it is his own company is doing. He doesn’t want to believe it as he retraces his steps back to rooms he’s already rifled through. Doc doesn’t need to know just how curious he’s grown about their old project; for all he knows he’s just looking over it again to see if it’s worth committing to New Mauville once again from the recent incident with the meteor. While he has no intentions of following through with it, he needs Doc to talk.
He’s sure he’ll make a breakthrough today, though as he nears the entrance he catches movement in the room to his right. His eyes come to narrow and he pauses in the doorway of it, wondering why someone else would be all the way out here at an abandoned facility.
“I know you’re there. It’s quite dangerous here if you’ve come unprepared.”

[Received 22:14pm] Asolute ly NOTHING INTERESTING is hepping right now ok
He receives the text and instantly grows suspicious at her message. Cynthia professing her innocence while drunk must mean she was up to something. Besides, why was he included in it?[Cyn:] Now that makes you sound like you're up to no good, Cynthia and how many drinks have you had?

sinnohchampioncynthia:
He’s surprised by her arrival, and she can tell. There’s something a little satisfying about that fact that the woman can’t place the cause of, perhaps it it merely because she knew something he didn’t? Perhaps a part of her was fearful her visit would be completely un-remarkable.
Cynthia exchanges polite thank-you’s with her guide and waits to see how Steven will phrase his question.
He masks his wonder at her being there, and holds back the ever present curiosity of why. He wants to know and it’s very apparent in his mannerisms that he tries to hide behind a smile and straightening his posture. Knowing Cynthia he’s sure to find out sooner or later, even if it’s strictly business between his father and her. He just needs to be patient and to get them somewhere beyond prying ears and eyes. Especially since his father is involved.
To involve another Champion from a different region. It must be fairly serious. He nods his head to dismiss her guide and focuses his attention on Cynthia once more. He notices just how over the top she starts behaving and refrains from chuckling at how firm her handshake is and how aware she suddenly is that she must be kept from suspicion. Don’t try too hard now, Cynthia. He can’t help but think before he’s taken by the arm and pulled in for more quiet conversation.
“Anything for you, Cyn.” He keeps his voice calm and slightly lower than usual, and with her arm in his he leads her down the hallway, past several rooms until they reach one he had stopped in earlier.
It’s dark inside, a simple storage closet that he accesses with a swipe of his card. He knows it’s safe there, out of view from cameras and people alike. Once inside he shuts the door behind him and pulls out his PokeNav to provide some light in the close knit space.
“It’s not the most comfortable of places to catch up but I think it will do. Now then, Cyn. Why would my father enlist for your help?” He simply chooses to leave out the obvious. His father could have turned to him for help but instead chose Cynthia and left him out. He has his growing suspicions already though doesn’t want to give too much away about his current plight with the company and his father.

He makes his way to Snowpoint temple, dressed in thick attire to keep him as warm as possible from the harsh winds and falling snow. He’s drawn here based on the temple’s lore and wants more than ever to witness the legendary that sleeps within it. He yearns to know why it’s there and what purpose it serves. Already he’s spoken with the citizens of Snowpoint to gain more information before embarking towards the temple itself.
It seems as if someone’s already here. His thoughts preoccupy him as he approaches a figure before the temple, not being able to make much out due to the snow and persistent fog. It’s not until he’s upon the figure that he recognizes her and is quick to greet her with the politest of smiles.
“Melanie, what could possibly bring you here? Are you taking a liking to exploring temples now?” He lifts his hand to his chest and bows slightly in greeting, keeping it impossibly formal between them as usual. He straightens after a moment and steps up alongside her, peering down into the depths of the temple. “I hope you didn’t wear heels in this, inside the floors are lined with ice.” Finally he breaks all formalities by teasing her, remembering a time when she entered a cave with heels on and nearly injured herself in the process in her hurry to prove a point to him.
“Anyway, I’m looking for a legendary Pokemon said to be here. I followed some tablets I found in various ruins around the region and it has brought me here.” He pats the bag hanging from his side, intent on showing them off to her if she’s interested.
A legendary encounter | Melanie & Steven
To say that Sinnoh’s cold weather was freezing is an understatement. At least, to Melanie it was. Despite being used to Hoenn’s hot and sunny weather however, she was still able to make it through the north western part of Mt. Coronet, as well as the harsh, ceaseless blizzard routes that are 216 and 217.
She clutched her scarf closer to her, the wind that was blowing through her hair finally dying down as she had gotten through the last remains of Route 217. It had been a harsh travel, but the visitor had finally made her way into Snowpoint City.

sootopolitanwave:
He watched his friend with bright, teal eyes, keeping in pace with him. He notices the tickets near immediately, but Steven threw him a bone with the please don’t tell anyone I did this line.

“Oh? Why not pin it on you? Then I won’t be in any trouble at all!” He teased, a smile playing on his face. “I’m just an innocent gym leader who was swept into some of my best friend’s antics, who just wouldn’t let go of me until I agreed to come along!” It was flawless, perfect, and truthful enough that people would buy it.
“You wouldn’t!” He huffs, surprise lining his features at how quickly Wallace worked with his reasons. It was convincing enough too, enough to make Steven squirm under the impression Wallace was giving. “Surly you can come up with your own reasons for leaving besides involving me!” He buys into it so easily and won’t rest easy until Wallace agrees. He knows better than most how believable Wallace can make a story and he certainly doesn’t want to be a part of it.
He fusses with his suit, trying to keep calm, but around Wallace it was so easy to get carried away. He has a certain flair to him and it’s enough to rouse Steven’s rather boyish nature when he’s alone with him. There’s no one to impress around Wallace, no, he can just be himself and be appreciated for who he is. In a way he feels safe around his best friend and most of all, normal. There’s not a shred of responsibility that he owes him and there’s just a large amount of trust shared between them.
“Are you sure you won’t consider Sinnoh? The people there are nice and you’ve never gotten to see snow before! Your ice rink of a gym doesn’t count!” He teases further, knowing Wallace simply detests the cold. He chuckles at the look he’s giving him and carefully lifts his hands as if to give in to his idea of Alola. “If I took you there would you want to come back, I wonder?” He’s only been to Alola for business trips regarding Devon and hasn’t gotten to spend much time exploring-- or as much as he’d like to.
He makes his way into the cafe and takes a seat at their favorite table. He doesn’t even need to look over a menu to know what he wants and when Wallace asks for the tickets he simply smiles at him, as if to say what tickets? It’s only a jest and once again he pulls them out, turns them over in his hands before presenting them to Wallace.
“They’re having a meteor show tonight as well as a presentation. I thought you’d like to watch it with me on the beach?” He’s almost shy in asking, as if he’s not too sure Wallace will approve of him incorporating one of his biggest interests into their outing. “It’ll just be the two of us. I’ve made arrangements to be left alone for the rest of the day.” He knows all too well from previous gatherings what it’s like to disappoint Wallace with Devon suddenly coming into the picture; he’s determined to make it perfect tonight.
