20//80 AU fanart but it's me reading verrrrrryyyyy closely into symbolism and wording 🤭

Grian's eye is on the left upper half, Scar's is on the lower right, with their hero/vigilante symbols on the corners :3 Fun fact: all the colors (besides yellow) are ones associated with their eyes and costumes :p

HotGuy has a moon background and CuteGuy has a sun background, as representation of their low/high energy (and also bc Grian's eyes are like morning/noon skies, and HotGuy's colors are more sunset/evening skies)!!

Maybe it's not that big of a deal.

I know I'm overreacting, and I know for sure that not everyone gets the success they want from their creations, but it's so incredibly discouraging and demotivating to put so much effort into something you love just for no one to even spare it a comment. I'm exaggerating, but after people being interested in my 20//80 AU in the beginning of the year only for it to get next to no interaction now aside from three of my friends reading it makes me sad.

It's even more upsetting to me to see most of the 14 comments on the story are from me and Stone, who are co-authors. That's like if I wrote a fic on my own and wrote over half the comments on my own. Heck, I even commented on it using an anon a few days ago just to give myself motivation. Especially after the attention and success that Stone and I's story, Feather's Embers, got on Ao3, it feels like the thing I'm now putting genuine effort into editing and polishing is just another "something" that I should give up on.

It makes me think to myself, do people not like it? What can I do to have more engagement? To get more comments? And I thought to myself, surely, if there are fourteen comments there are a ton of kudos. But honestly I should have not expected that.

I want to quit writing 20//80 after seeing this. And 20//80 is my passion project. I'm trying not to think about the numbers or the engagement but it's so hard to do, and each day when I see that "0" in my inbox I just want to cry. I need to put more content out, I need to make it better so people like it. So people comment on it and tell me the things they like about it so I can feel like my work means something to someone who isn't me or my three friends.

I'm sorry for ranting, but if you read this all, thank you so much.

Honestly, despite a vast amount rambling about it, I think Herobrine shouldn't be in the Minecraft movie.

Herobrine shouldn't be present or even acknowledged in any official media whatsoever except little tiny snippets and easter eggs. Let him be a ghost of a presence.

I feel confirming his existence and establishing him as a character robs him of being the myth, the legend he is. There really is no bigger picture and most things people agree on still are just popular fan interpretations that stuck around or stem from popular videos or something.

Herobrine is vague. He can be shaped into any interpretation you have for him and it still makes sense. A ghost. A dead brother. A glitch. A griefer. A tragic figure. An error in the game. A ruler of mobs. A hacker. A demon. A prototype. A virus. A player stuck. A king of the nether. A trickster. A god.

If he ends up in any bigger role in official media instead of being a figure in the fog, suddenly all the mystery is shattered. Suddenly there is a canon.

And I don't want that.
