she's still got her hair pulled back in a total rat's nest. like, she hasn't even brushed her hair for Christ's sake. what is his deal?

and then, of course, cause they're both apparently children, she climbs half over the back of the couch, pushing at his head. like, if he wants to be a dick, he's gonna have to fight for it.

weird or not, s'far as Lizzy's concerned they meant that shit. like, what's the point in being all alone in your monstrosity? company's always better, or whatever the saying is. that is a saying, right?

and she's always liked collecting strays anyway ; it's in her blood.

what a strange thing to say to someone. though, once a look of confusion is replaced by a widening grin. whilst it was strange, mapplethorpe loved the sound of it. ever since he came to the states to restart finish his senior year, he had a hard time making friends. at first, people seemed interested because of his australian accent but quickly he had become an outcast. he wasn't necessarily the most pleasant to be around and he always spoke his mind.

apparently, small towns in america aren't too far off from australia.

Lizzy's sprawled out on the slightly-sticky table when Eddie comes back, head pillowed on their arm. they narrow their eyes when he steals a fry from the pack, even though he hands the rest of them over. fry thief.

she peers down into the carton. five is a bit of an exaggeration but, like, not by all that much. ❝ ugh, and they're, like, lukewarm. ❞ she shoves the fries back to Eddie like they've personally offended her. ❝ gross. all yours. ❞

Lizzy flinches back when Saskia reaches out. not that they, like, have any issue with her, it's just instinct. they're not particularly touchy-feely. least not with anyone other than family. and they're on-edge enough as it is.

there's just a little bit of comfort at Saskia's words. like, at least Lizzy's not completely losing it. that's ... that's something, isn't it?
