This is Ra.

He's a single father to 1 son named Oscar.

This is an old thing fromhigh school. I think I was 16 or 17? I dunno.

His ex girlfriend. He met her in college, they were together for four years and then left them both.

I haven't come up with a reason as to why she leaves him and their son, she just does.

Like at all. Or maybe it's the slouching that's throwing me off...or the fact that Oscar's head looks like it's trying to escape his neck.

٩(๑´0`๑)۶ All of my characters are slouching and I'm just realizing it because of this.

Anyways, Custody battle.

Their whole beef with each other is that Oscar's mother, Cordelia, comes back around Oscar's tenth birthday since she decided she was ready to be in her son's life.

Ra is pissed because he thinks she's trying to play at something or she wants something. So naturally, after parenting his kid for ten years his ex suddenly decides to be in his life...with full custody...he's gonna be suspicious.

I have absolutely no clue how I want their story to go. Especially since I don't want it to be a thing where it comes across as I'm like praising him for being a good dad or whatever because I don't want him to seem perfect and put together since that's not how his kid or his friends see him.

I also don't want it to be a thing where Cordelia is villainized because she didn't want to be a mother. Maybe I'm overthinking this? I have no idea, this isn't an issue I've got experience with so google is about to be my best friend.

Maybe (Heavy on the Maybe) I'll start a story about them to get me back into the mood of writing. I wanna flesh out their individual backstories more especially since race*, romantic orientation** and a few other things play a role in this that I want to touch on but not explicitly state.

I'm not a professional man, I just work here. I don't know how much time I can spend on it due to my major not being art related in the slightest. I just wanted to get back into the art forms I used to engage in before I started college. Specifically writing and drawing.

Balancing school, a job and my personal hobbies is gonna be hella interesting. I'll see how it goes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
