🧹 Home Cleansing 🧹
Tumblr media
This is one of the most important skill to learn for beginner witches. Practicing magic and witchcraft tends to attract a lot of positive and negative energies, so it is important for you to regularly cleanse your home to reset the space. There are many different ways of cleansing your home using the 4 elements.
–
Air cleanse
🌪️ Start by opening your windows and letting some fresh air in.  🌪️ Burn palo santo wood to clear the air and reset energies.  🌪️ In a small cauldron, burn cleansing herbs like rosemary or lavender and walk from room to room to disperse the smoke.
–
Water cleanse
💧 Clean your floor using a herbal floor wash (rosemary, sage, bay leaves).  💧 Make a cleansing spray with salt water, rosemary or lavender.  💧 Leave a small dish of Florida water in rooms that need cleansing.
–
Fire cleanse
🔥 If possible, let the sunlight in as much as possible.  🔥 Inscribe the word ‘peace’ on a candle and let it burn out.  🔥 Place burnt-looking crystals like smoky quartz and black tourmaline in your entrance as they collect negative energies.
–
Earth cleanse
🌱 To cleanse your witch tools, place them on the dirt near your houseplants.  🌱 Use your besom (aka broom) to sweep dust and dirt from your home.  🌱 Finish your cleansing at your entrance door by releasing negative energies back to the earth.

Things to do for Yule
Tumblr media
Hello witches! Here are some activities to do for Yule!
Tumblr media
1. Enchant hot chocolate.
I always love a good cup of hot chocolate on a cold day, so why not make that a bit more magical? I always add peppermint to mine to wake myself up. You can make your hot chocolate homemade and put your own flavors into it. You can also try and make sigils with the foam!
2. Decorate your altar or sacred space.
You can decorate altar with a tiny tree or even have one in your room! You can also hang up things that remind you of Yule. If you work with any deities, you could decorate their space with what they like.
3. Make witchy presents for people.
Gifts could be as complex as a witch bottle or as simple as enchanting some jewelry. The sky is the limit!
4. Make self-love spells.
Sometimes the holidays can be a bit rough so doing self-love spells can really help! I made a witch bottle of self-love for a friend of mine. You can make sigils or even full rituals for self-love.
5. Enchant greeting cards.
If you send greeting cards to your relatives or friends, you can place sigils on them for good luck. You can place some money in for prosperity. You can simply cleanse the card and place your intention on it.
Tumblr media
This is a bit of a shorter post but I hope this gave you some ideas for Yule! Happy holidays!

Aela! the post about how to tell the difference between the gods being angry and the shadow self rearing its head was so helpful to see for me and came at a time I really needed to see it. Thank you for sharing it with us all and I hope you're having a good day 🧡💀🖤🌾It offered a perspective and some advice that is really useful!
I'm so glad my post was able to help! 🥰
The number one thing that the gods, especially Apollo, have taught me is to:
Know Thyself
Which makes sense since science cannot back up my proof of the gods because it falls outside of physical reality and relies heavily on belief which is easy to manipulate especially when society uses a lot of propaganda like a Satan-like Hades and Christian-God-like Zeus,  in Disney's Hercules in order to keep society in a dualistic Satan-bad, God-good, belief system since the ancient Greek religion itself is complicated and beyond Christian dichotomy.
I also wrote the list in order to keep myself from falling for another fear-based religion.
Fear helps one control others because it keeps people from thinking rationally with these people constantly second guessing themselves.
People make irrational short-term solutions when they're in survival mode and when you look for the "correct" way to do things outside of yourself you begin to not only bypass your own intuition but you begin to give others power over you because now that they were "right" about this, what else are they right about?
It's a slippery slope to giving others power over you and your belief system which is why modern cults are such a problem for pagan (and especially Christian) communities.
Fear and insecurity helps the few people in power control the rest of society.
Rise above that and connect with your gods because they also want to connect with you.

A Guide to Greek Alphabet Divination (Runes)
Tumblr media
As many may already know, Runes are a popular form of divination in order to communicate with the gods! However, aside from the popular Norse runes (elder futhark) that everyone might be aware of, did you know that there’s also a form of “rune casting divination” for the Greek alphabet?
First found inscribed in Olympos, a city in ancient Lycia, the Greek alphabet divination system uses the 24 letters from the Greek language and assigns them meanings, and based on what rune you pull, can give you advice from the gods on your current situation!
There were many Alphabet Oracles in ancient Greece, and the idea of reading the Greek alphabet for signs of the gods is one of the oldest divination methods that we know of.
How do I create my “runes?”
To create your runes, any way of making them works! Historically, they would be painted onto pottery shards, but any way you can think of to have them accessible to throw/draw is completely okay. I have personally used black stones with gold paint on them.
You create one piece per letter, and in total there will be 24. Each letter will be listed and elaborated on later on in the post!
I’ve made my alphabet set. How do I use them?
In order to call upon the Theoi to get an answer, you can firstly call upon them in an invocation. After you have called upon them or asked your gods to give you an answer (sometimes no formal structure is needed) you can reach into a bag which contains the letters and pull out one at a time and read that, or you can grab them and throw them and look for patterns or groups of letters that are clumped together.
THE LETTER MEANINGS
Α - Alpha - “The God Apollo [Apollon] says you will do everything successfully.” With his luck and good fortune, the current thing you are working on will turn out well and you will be the leader of your situation and have good transactions with others.
Β - Beta - “With the help of Tyche, you will have an assistant [Boêthos], who is the Pythian Apollon.” You might be at a time in your life where you’re struggling, but this divine-coded letter tells you that the gods that you worship are going to help you soon, so the signs you get might be more prophetic in nature.
Γ - Gamma - “Gaia [Gê] will give you the ripe fruit of your labors.” It is time for you to take a break and admire the hard work you have put in. Gaia will reward you, and you will have abundance in happiness, emotional fulfillment, food, or all of the above.
Δ - Delta - “In customs inopportune strength [Dunamis] is weak.” Timing is everything. Wait for the right time to act, and do not act to hastily. Wait for your time, but at the same time, use your strength for good to make a change in your situation.
Ε - Epsilon - “You desire [Eraô] to see the offspring of righteous marriages.” You need to surround yourself with good friendships, romances, allies, or relationships in general in order to get the most out of it. Surround yourself with positive people or situations to bring yourself up in a righteous way.
Ζ - Zeta - “Flee the very great storm [Zalê], lest you be hindered in some way.” If you’re already struggling, know when to pick your battles. Sometimes flight is better than fight, and only you know your own limitations.
Η - Eta - “Bright Helios [Hêlios], who watches everything, watches you.” Helios knows that in the past you feel like you have been wronged. As the enforcer of oaths and promises, if you are honest with yourself and the situation the truth will come out and you will be aided.
Θ - Theta - “You have the helping Gods [Theoi] of this path.” If you are taking a plan of action do not worry! The Gods are guiding your way and you are in good hands.
Ι - Iota - “There is sweat [’idrôs]; it excels more than everything.” Within your situation, there is going to be a lot of work. The gods recommend you buckle down and work as hard as you can, and it will not be easy. But it will be worth it.
Κ - Kappa - “To fight with the waves [Kuma] is difficult; endure, friend.” Now is not the time. You should wait until the vicious waves die down, and then take action.
Λ - Lambda - ““The one passing on the left [Laios] bodes well for everything.” Something that may seem really bad currently or in the future is actually going to turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Pay attention to your intuition!
Μ - Mu - “It is necessary to labor [Mokhtheô], but the change will be admirable.” You might feel distressed right now and that nothing is going right. But keep working to change either your situation or yourself, and the results will be in your favour.
Ν - Nu - ““The strife-bearing [Neikêphoros] gift fulfils the oracle.” Something will be given to you and enter your life. While it might not be obvious at first, this is the first domino in a line of changes that will happen in your life and make prophecy come true.
Ξ - Xi - “There is no fruit to take from a withered [Xêros] shoot.” Being bitter and angry is not the way to go about things. Don’t keep trying to pull water out of a well that is empty, and know when to let go.
Ο - Omicron - “There are no [Ou] crops to be reaped that were not sown.” In order to get things out of the situation, you have to plan ahead. What goes around comes around.
Π - Pi - “Completing many [Polus] contests, you will seize the crown.” After many trials, you will achieve your goal. Persistence will give you your rewards, and do not be afraid to use your talents.
Ρ - Rho - “You will go on more easily [Rhaion] if you wait a short time.” You should act, and quickly. Now is the best time and waiting longer is not a good idea. The stars are aligned and while it not be easy, there is no better time than the present.
Σ - Sigma - “Phoibos Apollon speaks plainly [Saphôs], ‘Stay, friend.’” The gods want to inform you to wait for more information before you make any decisions. In this time, relax, and let the signs come to you.
Τ - Tau - “You will have a parting from the [Tôn] companions now around you.” Soon, people in your life might not stay the way they are. Friends might leave or enemies might leave. You might grow apart or distance or travel might force you away. Be wary of this, and act accordingly.
Υ - Upsilon - “The affair holds a noble undertaking [Yposkhesis].” The task at hand is certainly a grand one, but with confidence, you, the hero of your own story, can pull through. You must acknowledge your strength, but also acknowledge the size of the task.
Φ - Phi - “Having done something carelessly [Phaulos], you will thereafter blame the Gods.” Something is going wrong, and you may be trying to blame other things than the cause of the problem. Don’t resort to pointing fingers. The Gods will help you if you do not take out your anger on them or others needlessly.
Χ - Khi - “Succeeding, friend, you will fulfill a golden [Khruseos] oracle.” Luck is on your side, and by mere chance, things might fall into place. The answer is positive, and you might be pleasantly surprised at all the riches that the world gives you in addition to your solution.
Ψ - Psi - “You have this righteous judgment [Psêphos] from the Gods.” Truth will be brought forwards, so be careful in your actions. The Gods are watching, and they will be fair, honest, and unforgiving to those who deserve it. This includes those who might be harming you, as well.
Ω - Omega - “You will have a difficult [Ômos] harvest season, not a useful one.” The times will be rough, and you will not get what you wish for at the end. You also might be forced to make tough decisions that you are not ready to make.
Tumblr media
And those are the letters! Happy letter-casting!

I’d like to start a Hellenic Pagan follow train/thread! 🚂✨
I saw someone doing this for Norse Pagans, and I think it’d be nice if we could have one for Hellenic Pagans, as well!
Follow me, and I’ll follow back (from my main) if:
✦ You consider yourself to be a Hellenic Pagan.
✦ You are a follower or devotee of any Hellenic deities.
✦ Practice witchcraft or any other type of ritual-based work revolving around Hellenic deities or traditions.
✦ (I am especially interested if you work with Hecate, Persephone, and/or Hades, but this is not an absolute necessity.)
Please reblog this post (from your most relevant blog, preferably) so other Hellenic Pagans can find you, as well! If you have patron/matron deities, bonus points if you post their names in the reblog! 💜

30DD #3: Symbols of Apollon
Tumblr media
↪️ Click here for a link to the 30 Days of Deity Devotion Challenge and credit for the above image goes to @dappermouth here
Apollon has many symbols and attributes to himself and his image, so this may a bit of a long and messy post. However, I’m on mobile and don’t know how to do a “read more” line here. Either way, before I begin, I want to give a quick shoutout to @falanx for her great Appalachian Apollon correspondences post. I adore reading about people’s local cultus and it’s quite a list. The following might also be used as correspondences as I do magic with this deity.
Common attributes:
The Lyre: For anyone with even a cursory knowledge of Ancient Greek religion or mythology, it’s quite obvious that Apollon is often depicted with a lyre. He’s the god of music and poetry, ruling over the oratory arts, along with leading the muses in their respective forms of art.
A Bow and a Quicker of Arrows: Just like the above detail of Apollon as a musician, he is equally depicted as an archer with his bow, sometimes ready to shoot. He is the god of archery and these tools, but it also refers to his golden/silver arrows. According to mythology, no one can feel these arrows but his shot is fatal, which is a metaphor for Apollon as a plague god, and so, these arrows are the cause of illness and sudden death itself. As both the Letii synchronized with the titans ruling over the sun as moon, their arrows began to become symbols of their rays of light as well.
Laurel Branch or Wreath: Apollon is often depicted wearing a laurel wreath or carrying a branch as this particular tree is sacred to him, which I will mention later on. But due to its mythology, the tree is also scene as a symbol of nobility, and wearing it denotes Apollon as a noble figure.
The Sun: Something that anyone associates with Apollon is the sun itself. Both him and Helios were the Greek gods of the sun but some times and places had them as one god or Apollon as solely in charge of it. And so, the sun easily has a strong connection to him.
Amber (UPG): Amber is associated with the sun and solar things in lots of lore and mythology. In descriptions of hyperborea, a mythical land beyond the northern wind that Apollon is said to retreat to, there is lots of amber. And a few other reasons I can’t remember off the top of my head.
Plants: Apollon has plenty of plants associated with him through various myths, which include
Bay laurel: According to myth, one of the women he loved, the nymph Daphne, was turned into a bay laurel tree, to escape him, and so, out of sadness, he wears it as a reminder of her. And thus, the origin of laurel wreaths, but also an attribute of noble status.
Larkspur/hyacinth: Similar to the above one, the hyacinth flower is named after one of his lovers who died and became a flower, Hyacinthus. Although, it’s likely that this myth more often referred to larkspur.
Cypress: You guessed it! Yet another dead lover becoming some sort of plant.
Henbane: Correspondence wise, it seems natural for a poisonous plant to be sacred to the god of plagues, and in this case, also one that may have been used to help induce the Pythian oracles in their trance state, along with oreandar. Henbane has been recorded as Herba Apollonaris for this reason.
Sunflowers (UPG): Every devotee or follower or deviantart artist of Apollon naturally associates this plant with him as the god of the sun, to the point that I can imagine how many people think it officially is, despite it being a new world plant. Personally, it works anytime he wants to pull up a flower for synchronicity.
Animals: Dear god, Apollon has a lot of animals, and depending on the time of day, I think I could probably name at least six, so I might miss one or two. It should go without saying that my absolute favorite animals of his are the wolf and the crow. Some of these are more gentle and others more scary, but something interesting about the myths connected to some of them is his way of claming that scariness as his own beast.
Crows: This generally seems to apply to all black corvids, such as crows, ravens, and jackdaws, maybe magpies as well if he chooses to. These are birds of omen especially with disease and sudden death, and fairly common birds in some places so it’s easy for him to “appear” in this particular animal. And my personal #1 fav animal.
Wolves: My favorite epithet of his is actually Apollon Lyceus, the wolf-god, but it shows his intense side, and ties into “Apollon as conquering” with all his tough scary bits. No bias at all here, clearly. Apollon is one of those things that changed wolves from a cliche to symbolically significant animal for me.
Snakes: An instance of taming the beast and making it your own, Apollon grew an association with snakes from the event of killing the Python Delphyne, in which he inherited all the snakes at the temple there. I’ve always loved snakes but not as much as the other two and he really isn’t as much of a snake spirit as others.
Cicadas: Cicadas make music and come out to the dance in the summer heat, so how couldn’t they be an animal of his? A couple of different Greek writers associate them with him, as well as with necromancy, so two birds one stone.
Mice: Another one of his animal epithets is “mouse-god” and with its own strange history, but mostly relating to regional cults and the oracular symbolism of mice in ancient times. It makes sense, though, with some of his other aspects.
Swans: Everyone little kid’s Greek mythology book mentions the regal majestic swans, and Plato himself talked about how these servants of Apollon sing a song of joy when they die to celebrate that their soul will reach Apollon.
Dolphins: Probably the weirdest sounding one, this animal has to do with his aspects as a god of protection while traveling and association with the sea, and his part in some founding stories where he transforms into a dolphin to lead sailors.

Snow Witchcraft
We just had our first real snow here in Ohio and it inspired me to write a post about using snow in witchcraft and spellwork.
Tumblr media
Associations:
Release
Cleansing
Innocence
Life/death/seasonal cycles
Time
Freezing/stopping
Blinding/cursing
Ideas:
Collect a bit to add to a bath spell for cleansing and releasing anxiety or stress (you can boil if needed while still retaining the qualities- or you can be like me and just use a small bit in the bath)
Use in a spell bottle or charm to stop a habit, stop a toxic person in their tracks, freeze a relationship, freeze intrusive thoughts, etc
Use in spells, enchantments, hexes or curses that need a timed release or slow release affect (as the snow melts, so does the working effects’ build or wan)
Use in offerings to spirits or deities associated with the cold, winter, ice, death, or the Underworld
Write a project or idea on a slip of paper, fold up and pack into a ball of snow. Charge with intentions of creativeness, prosperity, and inspiration (you can include herbs and spices you associate inside the ball as well). Leave out on a windowsill or porch or in a bowl inside to melt and release your paper to the projects’ fruition.
Use a cup or bowl of it to help in meditations or spellwork relating to connecting with your past, childhood, shadow work, nostalgia, and innocence. Ideal for soft snowfall that you’ve collected.
Use in curses, especially association with blinding, freezing, or trapping someone. Ideal for hard snowfall (like blizzards) that you’ve collected.
There are many other ways snow can be used in witchcraft- definitely not limited to the ideas I’ve posted here! Feel free to share your experiences or suggestions and happy witching!
