Part of the Save the World Crossover. There are rips in the time-space continuum, and these kids gotta try and survive (and, maybe put a stop to it).

In which Soma has the best day of his life, and Shulk has probably the second worst day of his life. Jade and Snake and Kratos are just along for the ride, much to Kratos’ dismay.

Team F is a clusterfuck and a strong contender for my favorite team. This ended up being nearly 10 thousand words, but it was so much fun??? I keep thinking about Team F all the fucking time, they’re a mess!! they’re great!! I’M HAVING SUCH A GREAT TIME!!!!

shulk was a late addition to team f, so here’s a post on how he fits into the team f dynamics, as well as some further thoughts!

massive xenoblade chronicles spoilers under the cut

soma: reincarnation of some ancient anti-thesis to a god who now lives in my soul with me shulk: Literally A God hijacked my body jade: woof

> team f has a group chat that jade and shulk managed to rig togehter. it’s a local network and only works between their devices, and honestly they don’t even need it because they’re probably rarely apart but soma and jade really wanted the aesthetic of it. 

> shulk is the youngest (by a year), jade and soma tease him about it constantly

> kratos, meanwhile, realizes jsut how young these kids are and is kind of fucked up by it, fuck he’s getting fond and protective, why are his dad instincts so strong (because they all remind him of lloyd in one way or another tbh,) (also, he needed someone to attach to,,) (he just got Three)

> soma and jade and shulk have a longrunning discussion going about how multiverses interact with each other and how certain things (like video games based on others lives) bleed into some universes but not others. soma only understands part of the bullshit they go on about, because shulk is a nerd and jade is a space witch with a deep understanding of her aspect, and so they can get really technically and soma is like “please. Please.”

> no one likes zanza that much. drac and kratos especially---who can feel just how powerful he is---are the most put off by him. drac’s a little pissy, kratos is just uncomfortable

> there’s a lot of jokes about this party being made up of a vessel for a god a vessel for essentially the devil a girl who is a god and a man who is an angel along with a Regular Ass Human

> soma sees alucard in kratos. will drac accidentally try parenting him? i don’t know but probably since that’d be fucking hilarious

> kratos and snake are the coparents some fucking how but occasionally soma joins them discussing dad troubles

i just put Team F together this morning but by far i think their dynamics are my Favorite

> Jade and Snake geek out over guns together

> Soma is in need of a weapon so either Jade has one of Dave’s swords in her sylladex for some reason, or Kratos hands over a dagger since Kratos is probably carrying both a dagger and a sword on him at all times.

> thinks about Kratos helping Soma with his sword-work since Soma’s abilities with a sword are average at best, dies,

> if I want to break the fourth wall this far: Soma is a huge Metal Gear fan and cant’ believe he’s traveling with the Solid Snake. He’s so mad he can’t text Mina about it, but he takes like twenty selfies. On the flipside, Otacon is a big Castlevania fan, which means Snake recognizes Soma and also takes twenty selfies

> Soma calls Jade a furry once and her response is “1, I didn’t ask to be like this, 2, yiff fucking yiff mother fucker”

> Soma lets slip that he has transformed into a bat in the past and thinks its fun and Jade will NOT let him hear the end of it. “WHO ARE YOU CALLING A FURRY YOU FURRY!!!!! > at least once Soma talks Jade into making his sword double its size so he can look Fucking Badass. Jade doesn’t need much convincing. It goes terribly.

> Jade and Soma are the same age-ish and get along really well. Soma has High Advanced Memes From The Future, though, while all of Jade’s come from A World Which Trolls Also Now Inhabit so they don’t speak the same meme language but every now and then they both discuss a Fucking Ancient Meme and lose their shit over how old it is and the fact they both managed to recognize it

time!!!! for some notes regarding Riku! largely so I can point ya’ll at deets relating to him without, um, forcing you to read the entirety of FtPverse to understand his character ((IT’D BE NICE IF YOU READ FTPVERSE, BUT I DON’T WANNA MAKE YOU))

Anyway!! The Riku in this crossover is actually Repliku, the Riku Replica, from Kingdom Hearts!!!!! I’m pulling him from FtPverse though because FtP Riku is my ultimate son and, why should I take the time to learn the new ins and outs of a new Repliku, when I could just,

So!!! here’s some deets / things to keep in mind about him

ftpverse is a story where Repliku, saved from death by Some Guy ((an, oc of mine who i shall not name because it’s not important)) and offered a second chance at life in a parallel universe in which there was no Riku, already!

that’s why he goes by Riku, instead of some other name! ((well, that and he didn’t remember anything but the name Riku upon his initial arrival to the parallel universe, but, it’s fine))

Chain of Memories was really shitty for him!!!! living in Castle Oblivion, controlled by the Org, was Not A Good Time. Larxene was physically abusive, emotionally abusive, abusive in every way you could possibly be (i mean, beside,s,,,, sex u al lyy,,,,,,,,,))

A LOT OF THIGNS HAVE HAPPENED IN FTPVERSE ITSELF, TOO MANY TO LIST OFFHAND PROBABLY, BUT HERE’S, SOME IMPORTANT THINGS

Riku lives with the HB gang, Leon’s gang, in Radiant Garden!!! Well, ok, I still call it Hollow Bastion in ftpverse (because, that’s where we are at the story) but for the sake of STW, i’m gonna call it radiant garden!

LIKE, HE DIDN’T ALWAYS LIVE WITH THEM, HE DID LIVE ON DESTINY ISLANDS WITH A WHILE, AND HE IS GOOD FRIENDS WITH SORA AND KAIRI!!!

but there came a point where aerith, after getting to know him, was like “wow!!! your life kind of sucks!!!!!!!!!! I’M ADOPTING YOU” and he’s,,, been family to them ever since

i listed him on his character page as “kind of an asshole” but i’m not actually sure how well that holds up!! he was pretty chill in team b’s meeting chapter

largely in part due to living with the HB gang, he’s!!! HE WAS PRETTY HECKED UP but he’s gotten a lot better, and he’s healing!!! he hates himself and life in general significantly less than he used to, and yanno! he’s pretty chill. he’s definitely not Angst Moody Broody hell anymore (AND I LOVE IT)

slightly riku related: namine exists in ftpverse, but since “kh1″ happened without Kairi chilling in Sora’s heart (among,,, other things) she’s actually a replica! the replica program in ftpverse was Extremely Successful, so, there’s that 

that’s!!!! all the big stuff!!!

for ftpverse fans, here’s some brief notes about riku in this crossover:

he was pulled away from his home sometime after part 3 of ATR! this means a couple things

a) his darkness problems are a Non Issue, becuase they were fixed! that’s part 3 endgame

b) he has a phone now!!! aerith suggested getting him one in, i dunno, sometime during part 3 of atr, and!!! while i don’t know when it’ll happen in atr, i know that it’s happened before this crossover!

i wanna edit the character bios so it also includes headcanons i have about them / their abilities. maybe. i’m not sure if formatting lets me yet! if it does, then, well, that’s a thing on my plate

i feel like i shouldn’t and, i probably won’t, but i like entertaining the idea that in my Mega Crossover Fic Ft My Kids ((which i should probably start calling the save the world crossover bc that’s its name now)) link and ness know each other

they know each other, from smash. from melee (since it is mm link / young link and not ww link or adult link)

of course, it’s jsut them, because this is a pre-brawl world ((ness does not know lucas and vice versa because lucas comes from in the middle of mother 3 in this fic. and since it’s a pre-brawl world that means rosalina isn’t in the smash roster yet))

and anyway ness and link talk like “yanno it’s weird that it’s just, us?? and all these other guys??” “yeah usually if the world’s ending and it’s big enough to bring us together you’d think, like, mario would be here?” “or kirby, maybe?? marth????” “YEAH IT’S WEIRD THAT WE HAVEN’T RUN INTO ANYONE ELSE WE KNOW” “SERIOUSLY!”
