The Capsule Wardrobe

 I like to define capsule wardrobes as a mini wardrobe that is made up of minimalist clothing that you love to wear. Your capsule collection is made from a combination of clothing items you already own and love to wear, and some items that you can shop for once a season. By shopping only once a season, you save so much money by not buying heaps of clothes that just add up to the pile. Plus, by building a capsule wardrobe, you will be able to simplify getting dressed and saving time. By having fewer pieces that coordinate, you can utilize every item of clothing you own, and you also have to spend less time worrying about what goes together. 

How to Build a Capsule Wardrobe

Step 1: Declutter 

start by going through your current wardrobe and finding items that you aren't wearing. This includes clothes that are too large or too small, or you simply don't wear. Donate them, or sell them. 

Step 2: Organize

to start planning your capsule wardrobe, start by categorizing your clothes by type (dresses, jeans, skirts, jackets, etc) and separating them on the basis of their color. By organizing your wardrobe in this way, it's easier to identify the types of clothing you have and put different looks together.

Step 3: Replacing and Adding

you might realize that it's time to replace your favorite worn-out pants or that streched-out tee. Maybe you feel that there is something that you could add to expand your options such as a dress in your favorite color. However, remember that the fewer items you have, the easier it will be.

What your Capsule Wardrobe should have

Bottom: 

. 2-3 jeans that show off your body shape or you feel good in

. 2 maxi or mini skirts

. 2 cargo pants 

Dress: 

. 2-4 dresses that you like in your preferred colors (shirtdress, bodycon, etc.)

 Top:

. 3-4 tshirts

. 2 shirts

. 2-3 tank tops

Outerwear:

. 1 blazer

. 1 jacket

. 1 cardigan

Accessories:

. Capsule wardrobes are easy to accessorize. Opt for handbags, belts, jewelry, scarves, and hats that reflect your personality, Avoid going overboard on accessories- keep it simple.

Finally, choose a color scheme with different neutral colors such as black, white, grey, beige, navy or cream. These colors work well together as well as with many other colors.
