y/n's pov: this summer my cousins had invited me to their lake house for a couple weeks. as my parents park in a gas station, i bump into soemone.

"oh! i'm sorry-" i say as i turn around. i make eye contact with literally my dream guy! i quickly realised it's mason thames!!

"no worries," he smiles. "you're good, right?" i nod softly. "yeah, no i'm okay. you're mason, right?" he nods as he gets recognized.

"yeah! sorry i didn't realize i was that famous." he laughs. "are you kidding me?" i giggle, making him flush a bit.

he looks at the candy i was holding in my hand. "i love f/c! ima get some too." he says as we brings me to the candy isles.

"so, are you from here?" he asks, looking at the selection- trying to spot his (our) favourite candy.

"no, my parents are driving me up to my cousins lake house for a bit." i say, not fully comprehending the fact that,

mason thames was currently having a conversation with me about my summer trip. "ah, up at lake central?" he asks.

i tilt my head, smiling. "yeah. you?" he looks up, spotting the candy and picking it up. "same. me and my sister, brooke are staying with my-"

he gets cut off by dad. "y/n, we gotta go if you want to make it by 2- oh, hello." he greets mason.

"hi! uh, you got a number?" he asks, i nod, loading it and giving him my phone. "thanks, i'll call you!" he smiles as my dad pays for my food.

as we walk back to the car, dad smirks at me. "what?" i ask, putting my phone in my jean short pocket.

"nothing.. he's cute" he smiles as we get into the car. "who's cute?" mom asks as i sit down. "no one-" dad cuts in.

"some boy she met. perfect time- summer love" he gushed. "no, thanks. but it's the kid from 'the black phone'" i tell her.

"oh! that movie we watched a couple summers ago." i nod as dad begins to drive off. "yep. that one." i say softly as i see he added me back.

around 20 minutes later, i'm standing on the porch, hugging my cousins as my dad brings in the luggage.

"aunt n/n! it's so good seeing you!" my mother greets as me and c/n run upstairs, we'll be sharing the same room.

we go and unpack my things as my parents leave. i greet my aunt and uncle as i pet the dog, as well.

me and c/n sit in her (well, ours) bed while we talk about what happened, with her living in place while i live in place- it's a bit hard to-

talk to each other during the year. but i'm so glad i get to see her in the summer. "anyway- you will not believe who's number i got!" i smile.

"who's? oh is he cute?" she giggled. "yes! it's mason thames!" her jaw drops in excitement. "oh my god! what a score!" she beams.

"i know! he's been texting me but i've been busy talking to you to answer!" i giggle. "oh my god? open it!!" she huddled beside me,

needing to see. "oh- okay!" as i unlock the phone, i see messages asking to hang out soon. "say yes!" she taps my shoulder.

"okay, okay!" i grin as i do, "tell him you're free tonight!" i look at her in a slight frown. "but it's movie night! tradition!" i say, softly.

"okay but we can do that AFTER. we always stay up late- whats the harm?" i reluctantly agree and ask her to help me pick out an,

outfit. "of course! let's see.. it's currently- 4.. we have diner around 6 and you'll be out by 8. not so long." she explains.

"alright.. i always remember it getting cold at night here.. so i'll have to pack a hoodie." she hands me my favourite one.

"thank you, kind sir." i joke, earning a sarcastic smile from her. "just here!" she hands me an outfit, i put it on, fixing my makeup.. (optional)

then going down for dinner, hang out for a while and before i knew it me and mason are walking along the lake.

"so, how's it like being an actor?" i ask, really wanting to know. he smiled, looking at me. "it's good, actually. i like the publicity-" he pauses.

"believe it or not. it sucks sometimes, though. especially when a million of girls are screaming your name," he teases.

even though i know it was a joke, i still get a bit of jealousy inside me. "i bet," i smiled trying to play it off.

"but overall i really enjoy interviews and stuff. being popular is fun, i guess" he smirks. that summer was one for the books!
