waitwait- Zafira has kids? Tell us more right now please

Yes! While she has adopted Finn, Jim and Sammy, she once had several kids before joining the astrel ward. Back when she was still the Guardian of her small-ish village, she had a 'wife' though they were more friends than actual lovers. Back then she (Aaminah is what I named her) was her closest friend and it was expected of Zafira (¹who was still seen as a man at the time) to have a wife and continue on her lineage and because she was the only one she trusted with knowing she was a woman. Help provide strong children that would help protect their village. Both of them had a few kids, and Zafira enjoyed being a parent at the time. She taught them how to fight and how to help those in the village.

Sadly they, and her wife, died to the Jade Winds a few days after Zafira's ascension. Zafira experiencing severe memory loss from her far more intense ascension, didn't remember them and was never reminded of their existence.

(¹ a few years into parenthood Zafira ended up coming out to the village as she knew that she didn't want to be called father by her kids or others, she wanted to be known as their mother, and she wanted to be known as a woman. Some pushed back as there had never been a woman Guardian (it was always a male Largos who was picked to receive the Scions blessing to become a Guardian) but eventually she was respected and healers in the village helped her find a way to basically make potions for HRT)
