Concerning Communication Patterns

Be alert to these kinds of isolation tactics: false ultimatums that create unnecessary community divisions with “it’s them or me” demands, strategic vulnerability where emotional distress is shared to deflect from addressing behavior, gaslighting that involves denying or reframing documented events. The purpose of this is to make you feel like you’re the only one not getting with the program, that you’re “wrong” for making your own choices. Rest assured, everyone else is being pressured in the same exact way. You’re not alone.

If They Are Pressuring You

Remember that you have the right to follow, interact with, or block anyone based on your own judgment, refuse demands that you cut off specific community members, question why someone needs to control your social connections, and maintain relationships regardless of others’ approval. Consider asking yourself why this person needs to control who you interact with, whether they’re asking you to isolate yourself from people who might offer different perspectives, if their demands escalate when you don’t immediately comply, and how they respond when you express boundaries or concerns.

Protecting Yourself and Others

Document concerning interactions by screenshotting manipulative messages in case they escalate or the person tries to deny their behavior later. Don’t isolate yourself, as manipulative individuals often try to cut you off from people who might help you recognize problematic patterns. Trust your instincts - if someone’s behavior makes you uncomfortable, that discomfort is valid regardless of their explanations or justifications. Support others who are being targeted with these tactics by offering help and letting them know they’re not alone. Set clear boundaries, remembering that you don’t owe anyone control over your social connections or unconditional loyalty.

Community Health

Healthy fandom spaces are built on mutual respect for different perspectives and interpretations, proportional responses to conflict that focus on behavior rather than character assassination, genuine accountability that includes concrete steps toward change, and inclusive discourse where people can express opinions without fear of social punishment. When someone consistently undermines these principles while demanding special treatment, it affects the entire community’s wellbeing.

Moving Forward

We encourage everyone to make your own informed decisions about who to follow and interact with, support community members who speak up about harmful behavior, recognize that accountability isn’t the same as harassment, and foster spaces where diverse perspectives can coexist respectfully. Remember that no one should have to prove their loyalty by cutting off other community members, and anyone making such demands is prioritizing control over community health. Stay safe, trust your judgment, and remember that healthy relationships—whether in fandom or elsewhere—don’t require you to isolate yourself from others.

I like it!

I think about how Amaya must’ve met Gren and Corvus so often

I like to think that they both entered her life around the same time, during the roughest years of her life.

For Gren he was fresh out of school, like he JUST got his KSL Interpreter License. And the standing Battalion needs a new Interpreter since the passing of Queen Sarai.

Of course this is a fresh wound for Amaya and she’s angry and upset, her soldiers can learn KSL they can sign. Besides, no one can interpret for her as well as Sarai did.

Regardless though she is eventually assigned with Gren. She’s pretty standoffish to him at first but he persist, gauging her personality and speech patterns to properly interpret, and when he’s interpreting what others say he’s formal and accurate.

Steadily Amaya softens up to him if not a bit begrudgingly, the way he jokes and laughs sometimes reminds her of Sarai.

Then shortly after came along a 14 year old boy trying to pass off as 16 and that’s definitely not working but also he wont leave and he’s pretty good so with a role of her eyes she puts him in Camp Katolis because she’s not letting a fourteen year old onto her team.

When he is by their side he’s quick to subtly signal for things that seem off, and when he hears something strange he follows up with her. His wits and cunning nature reminds Amaya of Sarai sometimes too.

Eventually the two just kind of became her boys. Gren her voice, Corvus her ears, and she adores them both.

Let me introduce to you another wlw ship l rly appreciate Janai x Amaya, especially because it's canon. If you never did watch "The Dragon Prince" please do. This show is it absolutely worthy and some creators from Atla worked on this show. Callum, one of the main characters have the same voice actor like Sokka and they also put some easter eggs in this show from AvatarTheLastAirbender.

HYPED It looks like it is made from a studio based in Peru name Ninakami. The anime takes a lot of inspiration from the indigenous Quechua influences and other Andean and regional cultures.
