In cursed Disney-related things I just remembered, they're doing this "Disney characters as fantasy heroes" multimedia mobile game thing called Mirrorverse, and one thing in it is for enemies, they make shadowy versions of the various heroes called "Fractured," probably for the sake of efficient model reuse.
I bring this up to you for context because, oh my god, Dark Kermit is sending me:

there’s something really important i failed to mention in this post. the artists in charge of old fe were primarily women with a few exceptions (kaneda and koya). sachiko wada in particular had a hand in the art of EVERY SINGLE fe game from fe6-fe10
starting with shadow dragon, she left. then in awakening kusakihara replaced her. in case you dont know these are their respective art styles:
