Hong Kong - Day 2

We started the day with a traditional breakfast. Like you could not get more of a HK breakfast if you tried! We started with some dim sum from a street vendor. I had NO CLUE dim sum was a breakfast thing! Then we went to a Hong Kong style cafe for toast and eggs with macaroni soup and ham. It looks and soups crazy. It was good and I’m glad I tried it. But not my favourite ha! Too familiar to stuff we get at home!

Hk bakery: I FINALLY got to try some buns from a Hong Kong bakery! They were amazing! I think it was a pineapple bread and the a darker sweet bun with pistachio. Both great, but the pineapple bun was by far the best!

Bus Tour: today was a bit of a lazier day. Only 23 thousands steps today! Hardly anything! But we loved the break and getting to see some sights of Hong Kong Island and learning a little bit about each area we saw.

Hot pot, the restaurant was amazing! I loved it. People hardly spoke English. The menu was full of bat shit things like testicals but we tried to lay it fairly safe and thank god we did!! It was a bit stressful trying to cook it correctly 🤣 we absolutely messed up, committed several social faux pas and hopefully did not give ourselves food poisoning by undercooking anything 😅

The hotel gave us these lovely cakes because it was our honeymoon!!! But hilariously they said happy “Honeymood” instead of honeymoon 🤣

Hong Kong - Day 1

Today was the first official day of our honeymoon. We arrived last night and did a bit of exploring, but basically just grabbed dinner and went to bed.

Today we got up and I wanted something traditional for breakfast and knocked Congee off of the food bingo Card.

I loved it - Adam thought it was ok. So not his favorite. Although. When we went to pay, the shop was cash only or octopus card only. Neither of us have cash… so this started an hour long chase around of us trying to by OCTOPUS CARDS, lifting money from an ATM, before I eventually found one that would take my card and give me money.

Panic over - Adam thought he would try the same ATM, but the machine swallowed his card and now we need to go back tomorrow to see if we can get his card back! What’s a honeymoon trip without a bit of drama!!

Today consisted of lots of walking and exploring.

We went to the peak, even though it was cloudy and raining. It was a great walk and we still got a great view! The clouds made it look dramatic and atmospheric.

We’ve decided that we have a talent for finding great places to eat, but when we’ve just eaten. So finding lunch was a bit of a mission. We were wandering around the mall for ages and when we eventually got something from a supermarket we then had to hunt for somewhere to sit and eat it.

After lunch we went to the viewing area of the IFC building for a good look at Hong Kong - apparently we just wanted good views today! Again a cloudy day but still some crazy impressive food.

We met with Adam’s Friend from school, Emi, for dinner and had an absolute feast! It was incredible. Emi and her husband also gave us some great recommendations for the rest of the trip for food!

We ended the night with a boat ride from Hong Kong Island back to Kowloon. The boat was lovely, very relaxing and smooth. A great way to see more amazing city views.

There might not be a new video this week. Its Filmed. The rough cut is started. I'm just not sure i'll be able to finish editing it in time, but the video is really good! (if i do say so myself) So i don't want to rush it and i want to be happy with the final video.
