Ok this is a really stupid fucking question and I might get flamed but bear with me because I don't use slurs and ive never really been around people that do or have seen much discussion surrounding them at all and I'm a little lost on what makes a slur okay to reclaim vs not okay to reclaim, and if reclaiming a slur takes away its power then would that mean that word has basically become acceptable for everyone else to say it? i genuinely really want to know how this shit works because I don't fucking know and I probably should at this point

using the r word to call someone stupid or to refer to disabled people is not slur reclamation.

maybe this is a niche and minor thing but it gets on my fucking nerves when people tell me I am deeefinitely autistic no matter how much I insist I am almost certainly not. I have ADHD so I am in fact neurodivergent and it's not like having autism is a bad thing but for the love of God why do people always think they can tell me I have autism because they have autism and that suddenly gives them a six sense for developmental disabilities like a gaydar but worse
