Hey y'all, got a question for you: this hiatus of mine has become less a hiatus and more a "i don't listen to the magnus archives anymore. " Would there be any interest from followers if this were just a general podcast sideblog? Or should I just make it officially defunct?

Perhaps it’s the baleful influence of the Bifrost or some sick twist in the coding of our bionic systems – a final trick of our creator. But it seems that even immortality can only outrun entropy for so long.

We feel our gears grinding down. Our story circuitry glitching. And soon, it seems, we must stop. Tell the final tale. The Mechanisms must die.

But - we aim to go out with a ball, and - because we have grown fond of you - we are returning to your planet for one final party; to say thank you and bid you all a fond (if bloody) farewell.

can we talk about the fact that jon definitely sent daisy to check on martin like some kind of carrier pigeon.

jon. this is getting ridiculous.

can you imagine daisy telling jon "hey so i talked to martin-"

and jon immediately going "oh GOOD thank GOD one of you's got ahold of him, he's been ignoring my texts and emails and handwritten perfumed letters so daisy i task you now with messenger"

anyway not to go back to my beholding faves on main but

Basira told Jon “you don’t need to look at the black sun.” she was giving him a choice, and Jon said “No I will.” 

and she left

she gave him a choice, and when he said “yes i want to look at the spooky sun that is probably going to kill me” 

she left

and then, five seconds later, she came back and Jon was more alive than ever, and destroyed the spooky sun that supposedly couldn’t be stared at apart by the strongest Dark Avatars. 

“like she couldn’t believe he made it back” = what is Basira going to think? She saw Jon at his most monstrous on that boat; she saw Jon vainquished in a glance something that was a huge threat; she heard Elias tell her nobody had ever got out of the Buried before. 

I think two people aren’t sure they’re ‘happy’ Jon survived this trip.

on the other hand - like, yes, Extinction!Martin = worst outcome to martin’s narrative arc in canon (tied with lonely!martin) - BUT

Extinction!Martin going “so, would you like to watch the world of humanity die with me, maybe?” dancing on his feet a bit, hands in pockets, to archivist!Jon. “We could, like, die last” he says looking at Jon through his eyelashes. and when Jon frowns he goes: “I mean, no offense or anything, but your ritual is obviously doomed to fail, like every other human endeavour because avatars are, at their core, still human. I could give you something terrifying to look at though; for a long time too, of course extinction is going to be slow.” and then he gets his hand off his pocket and offers it and Jon ponders on this 0.3s and goes “…alright.” and lets his fingers brush back against Martin’s because k n o w l e d g e.

When do you think Jon had the Talk about the Entities with his assistants? Specifically with Martin and Basira (as we know for Melanie, it was when she agreed spying for him, and Tim seemingly missed it)

Before the kidnapping? After but before leaving for America?

Did he add more, with a full list, when he came back and had learned more from Gerard?
