Brighton (first story):  He’ll personally execute them by his own hands, but that won’t stop the grief and depression that he’ll have from losing Twila.  Blood on his hands certainly won’t bring her back.  I would say that it’s similar to the death one, and it’s only a matter of time before he dies due to broken heart.

Death by either scorching them, or even cutting them through.

Brighton (second story):  Same way as first, though I don’t really see him nearly suicidal.  I could see him fading from obscurity and only be seen as needed (for his job).  That or take on the position, but it would be a miserable ruling, especially those that have overly criticized Twila for her ruling.  To him, it seems like revenge to get back at them for all the grief they caused on her.  It’s probably sadistic and dark, but it’s possible.  The aloof personality is going to hit these folks hard.

“If you didn’t like how Twila ruled, you sure as hell won’t like me to rule.”  He’ll do the job, but oh man, he will not care at all.  Of course, he’ll treat his staff well and all, it’s not like he’s completely brutal.  It will be a strict ruling, more strict than the first.

Twila (first story):  She be furious and crush them.  Might potentially kill them, or she might let them live and let someone else get blood on their hands.  She has a temper, and she may be strong, but I don’t seeing her completely kill them.  Might leave them badly injured.  Could see her either ruling on Brighton’s behalf, or completely vanish to obscurity.

She could also haunt them until their death with her shadow magic.

Twila (second story):  The very thing that brought her happiness in her life is now gone forever by someone so evil?  She’ll get them legally executed.  I could see her either fading to obscurity and no longer want to rule, or the stress + grief could slowly kill her (though she’ll put up a good fight first).

Both will be very miserable, but how they both approach it will be very different.  Brighton will absolutely show no mercy while Twila may or may not show mercy, but may cast magic that will leave them permanently cursed.

I love how much they love each other, to the point where they'll burn the world down if someone killed them.

Also i'm getting distracted by a look of things right now, that's why it's taking me a while to get to these. I'll try to do better.

I like to think Brighton cares about speed more than physical/magical power. That and cares about the element he specializes more than others. Makes sense for someone that is based off of a giant ball of gas, fire, and plasma. Suns determine seconds, minutes, and hours (faster time devices). Could even argue about days.

That, and I don't see him wanting to get himself hurt trying out things outside his element. That and I don't see him being too huge on fighting like Twila is. I think his magic comes within, which probably explains why he doesn't have a wand like Twila does.

I always thought Twila was slower, but more powerful for the reasons you mentioned. Makes sense for someone that is based off of a solid space rock with even metal properties. Moons determine weeks (?), months, and (almost maybe) years (if only it didn't just add up to 354 days) (slower time devices).

Twila's magic is basically from outer sources (Earth, Theta, Sun and possibly other sources). No sun? No phases of the moon. No collisions? The Moon wouldn't exist (or it would have, who knows). I don't think she has her own type of magic like Brighton does, which makes me think she can do more.

Basically, Twila would be a walking arsenal. She probably has tried to outspeed Brighton to no avail.

I wonder since the system was created because of the sun, Brighton knows deep down that he could be stronger than Twila if he really wanted to, but just doesn't want to put forth that much effort in proving that. That, and he likes strong women like her.

huh, brighton having the upper hand in speed is a fun way to make them more balanced.

Twila being frustrated that this is the one thing he's better than her at. Not counting fire magic (and by extension electricity, I think), i still think he has the upper hand on that one since that's his element and fire still burns her even though she has access to it.

it's fine, though. One time she accidently hit him really hard using his own speed against him. (He flew into her fist, totally his fault)

I prefer to think that in the case of them both training and taking things serious that they're evenly matched, to keep the theme of them balancing each other out. but training is something Brighton is lazy about so he ends up being weaker most of the time. Unexpected bonus: strong wifey :D
