#wholesome#oc x canon#self ship#positivity#although I was never explicitly a target of any sort of hate or youtube cringe-compilation#I distinctly remember scrolling through deviantart way back when undertale was at it's all time high in 2016 - 2018#and watching some undertale sans fangirls cringe compilations#and seeing all the hate those artists were getting#and these were artists from all walks of life#not just amateur artists#although my friends on google+ were all pretty decent people#i preferred that. when they had fan-arts for me of my roleplay character#they send me those fan-arts privately#because i didn't want them to get shat on if they did it publicly#although the art was for me#and like i mentioned though i never experienced that directly#(because i played it safe and never bothered to post my oc x canon stuff on DA)#(just a few on google+ and mewe)#it still left a long-lasting impression on me#it chased me away from ever fully immersing myself and enjoying the full experience#i'm 24 now#and still not 100% brave enough to post that sort of thing#let alone ask my friends to do oc x canon roleplays with me#even when just posting regular oc content#i'm always mentally preparing myself for the worst#so even though i'm too chicken-sh/t scared to post my cringe stuff#oc x canon. self shippers. canon x reader writers. and quote un-quote 'unpopular' canon shippers have all my support#you guys are the best#the true backbone of fandoms
