Sometimes I Sit and Think, Sometimes I Just Sit
After practicing with two EPs, Courtney Barnett released her debut album 'Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit' few week ago by Mom + Pop Music. Working as a bartender she would write down just a few sentences in her phone that were going through her mind thus making extraordinary song lyrics that you can't even sing along to, but mixing it with garage-pop/folk music make that 'most compulsively listenable album to come out so far this year'. No wonder Pitchfork named 'Avant Gardener' (2nd EP 'How to Carve a Carrot into a rose') 'Best New Track' in 2013. This Australian singer-songwriter-guitarist with a sense of humor has definitely made something fresh. Her lines are not just her spilled emotions, but observational tracks that come out as a great stories.

The Underground Youth's 2011. LP Delirium
So, today I asked my good friend to recommend me some fine music and and he reminded me for telling me about this awesome album by this awesome band he and his friend got attached to few days ago. I gave it a shot, and if you like bands such as The Velvet Underground, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Bob Dylan and such psychedelic-ish sounds you will love them. Craig Dyer, Thomas Joseph E. and Olya Dyer are members of this dark, melodic, shoegaze UK band called The Underground Youth formed in 2009. There isn't much information about the band so you should let the music speak for it self. This album I've been listening to is acctualy their LP Delirium released 2011. but you also might check their other work on their bndcmp. Here is my favorite. Enjoy me peeps !

Big Deal's "June Gloom" is out!
Tumblr media
Remember the post annoucing their new album "June Gloom"? Well, it came out June 4th finally. I was curious how the sound is going to be, considering their previous debut album was recorded with only two guitars. Now they added drums and bass and all the instruments bands usually have. Listening to the album I noticed they kept their own sound and style and it sounds awesome.
For those who don't know, Big Deal are Kacey Underwood and Alice Costelloe, dream-pop duo from UK. They are on tour now, all over UK so if you're somewhere close, check them out!
"June Gloom" is now available on Spotify and here's a little preview!

Kurt Vile
Its about time that we introduce you to young Kurt Vile, Philadelphia songwriter  and former member of band The War on Drugs, because he is coming to Zagreb to play a show accompanied with his band The Violators.
Vile started his career with The War Drugs, with his dear friend Adam Granduciel (who is one of The Violators, so we will also see him play). Same year they released their first studio album (Wagonwheel Blues, 2008.), Vile released his debut  solo album Constant Hitmaker on Glutcher Records. As tWoD's fame grew, he decided to leave the band, predicting their increased profile and expansive touring schedule would ultimately waylay his solo career.
2009. Mexican Summer released Vile's second album God Is Saying This To You… (a collection of Vile's home recordings dating back to 2003.) and that same year he singed with Matador Records (respectable indie label Matador Records is home for band such as Mogwai, Interpol, Yo La Tengo, Pavement, Cat Power and others). Vile noted,  ''It's a perfect fit. They were my number one choice. I don't really consider my music indie rock or think that Matador cater only to indie rock, but I still feel I can relate most to Matador, more than any other label. Not to mention the fact that they are way on top of their shit." After signing with Matador Records, his career went more than up the hill and released two more albums and EP. His Smoke Ring For My Hallo, was definetly most sussescful and got on the list of one of the best albums that year.
He is coming to play a show in Zagreb in Tvornica Kulture and promote his new album Walkin' On A Pretty Daze. The date is set to 20th June 2013, and the ticket price is 90 kn, on the day of the concert 100 kn so we hope to see you there !

Big Deal announce new album "June Gloom"
Tumblr media
First for those who don't know (and should know), behind this modest, yet "big" name Big Deal are Kacey Underwood (guitar, vocals) and Alice Costelloe (vocals, guitar), boy-girl duo from the UK. This is the latest duo we're falling for, they won us over with their simple beautiful music they make with two guitars, one electric, one acoustic and their soothing vocals.
About a year ago they released their debut album "Lights Out" and a couple of days ago they annouced new album "June Gloom" that will be out in May, no date had been confirmed yet, but don't worry we will inform you as we are excited to hear it, too. Altough it didn't seem necessary to them to involve other people into their music, for this album they decided to work with the full band that gave their music the deeper and darker sound. One more cool information, their album was produced by Rory Attwell who worked with Male Bonding, PAWS, Veronica Falls.
So if you think this record so far sounds awesome you can download their newest single "Teradactol" for free on their Soundcloud while you're waiting for the album to come out. And as their Facebook page says, video for their first official single is in the progress and will be out soon. For now, enjoy in this one!
